The GF text me earlier about having engagement photos and a cookout with her fam on the 4th , my response was "Avengers. Get midnight tickets. Expect to sit for an hour before the movie. Do not expect to leave until after the credits roll". Her response "Fine".

Last August or September I started Christmas shopping. The previous year I had some tough financial times and things didnt goes as well as planned plus I generally hate Christmas shopping post Thanksgiving...add those factors to the fact that I planned to purchase an engagement ring and propose shortly after the holiday and youll understand why it was vital I spread the money out in advance. She said yes by the way. Anyway, I find myself in a closeout store and the place has all these wonderful items that fit my needs for super cheap. Making my way to the counter I realize how strange it may seem.
*Time Life Remembering Elvis: 30 Years Later. My mother is something of an Elvis collector and I normally snag her at least one Elvis related item per holiday.
* Mattel I Love Lucy Barbie "L.A. at Last" The fiancee is a Lucy Collector and this is one of the few from that set she didnt have at the time.
* Brokeback Mountain DVD At one of the Christmas parties we pass gag gifts (ha) with a $5 spending limit. A few if the people are fans of old westerns and at $2 this seemed the best purchase.
* Shampoo ...in a phallic shaped bottle.
The cashier played it straight when I came to the counter but I said something like "Im Christmas shopping early" she said it wasnt her place to judge me...with a Sam the Eagle face.

I wont argue that he was good at what he did, but what he did...who he was...and who he played on TV rrrrreally added up to one-great-big-pile-of-crap to me. I'm with you on the politicking side and I can't argue with you just not liking his onscreen character, but you didn't actually mention the ring work. Have you seen any of his Japanese stuff? Yep. A Chono match, an Inoki match, and some work with Hansen and Andre. Even his promos were different in Japan.

OK so he officially debuted. WWE can't possible screw up with him. Can they? They turned Taz into Rob Conway, they can screw up anything. Im gettin the European playboy feel with Claudios debut, likely a male version of Maryse to an extent.

Hogan. With every other name mentioned I see at least a bit of grey area to one side or the other... but Hogans always been a below average -at best- worker and his promos never did anything for me, add that to the fact that the polotics were awful and hes pretty much been the brains that destroyed a couple companys and he takes the cake. Ive never been a fan of the guy in any way shape or form but there are still people that adore him...and I just cant wrap my head around it. For one thing, he was over like rover and deserves credit for that regardless. If someone's over, you take advantage of it. Secondly, his ring work is hugely underrated, mostly by people who've not seen him wrestle in Japan. I wont argue that he was good at what he did, but what he did...who he was...and who he played on TV rrrrreally added up to one-great-big-pile-of-crap to me.

cant see how when memphis was just as low rent looking and had hardcore style matches Just my opinion here but I think Lawler was just a "good name" to lend to ECW for a feud without hurting anyones standing in the company HOWEVER id be willing to wager that Lawler was at least a bit irked that Vince was doing so much to promote ECW while the same couldnt be said for Lawlers Memphis promotion. Beyond the "He looked bigger when he was on a box of Lucky Charms" comment made about Taz I doubt there was any legit heat.

One of my favorite gimmicks. Ever. Though I must admit I like the "idea" far more than the execution.

I think it varies by performer. Id expect King Regal to give me a vastly different reaction than Dean Ambrose, however when meeting celebs im into I usually just extend my hand and say "I appreciate what you do, thank you". As lame as that may be I met Jimmy Snuka as a somewhat-little-fella and it ruined the entire experience for me. I didnt see the performer, I saw a rapidly aging man in a bingo hall glad-handing strangers for a few bucks.

Work. Shoot. Who cares? All that matters is a LOT more people know, and have an opion, about Dean Ambrose.

I dunno when he talks it doesn't seem natural to me. Like he's trying to act. Its hard for me to take people seriously like that. He looks kinda goofy too. So i'm kinda meh on him so far. You have Kane is your sig. Kane. Show me any pic from any era of Glenn Jacobs wherein he doesnt look goofy.

While his in ring work wasnt particulary innovative what he did so well, perhaps better than most, was to draw the crowd in with fantastic psychology. The promo work of course speaks for itself.
My suggestion to anyone is to get your hands on the Pick Your Poison dvd. The man truly never had much of a chance and came from a place so bad that even despite his flaws youd have to consider what he accomplished a success.

This pretty much sums him up in a flash. Language warning:
Also, theres a fan made piece on work with Regal in FCW that is a must view for anyone looking to get up to speed from username AllStarExpo. Its about the whol "true villains" bit they had.

THIS just might be the worked shoot we've all been waiting for, and I -for one- am in no hurry to see it end.
Frankly this thing could drag out til SUmmerSlam and id be ok with it.

Vince scooped him up as the face of his WBF (was worse than the XFL & heeeellooooo ICOPRO). When the bodybuilding fed went kaput it was only natural he make his way to the WWF, but instead of using what made him somewhat popular to begin with they made him a boring self absorbed heel that was later rehashed by Chris Masters....other than the loaded forearm of course. I for one think Vince just got tired of wasting money on the guy and figured the easiest way to get a pop is the Hacksaw-way so he just made an angle to stir the xenaphobes. Whoops, wrong era, here we go.

I had a lot of fun with this game. I was always a WWF fan and had a hard time giving WCW its just due in many cases but I truly felt that this title was the best wrestling game on the market. With that WWF bias in mind I wasnt miffed at the lack of WCW roster talent. If anything it really turned me on to their "lesser known" guys like Benoit and Eddie. In fact I became so enamored with those two on the game that I started sniffing out tapes of their real life work. The previously mentioned knock offs were home runs in my book and I liked the varying styles they offered. I havent played it in years but I carry fond memories of the game and to me its better than any other WCW game on the Playstation platform.
The strangest thing is that I still give a wink and a nod to the game to this day by saying "ding" any time I see a nut shot of any form because on the game a low blow earned an audible bell sound and oversell even if it didnt end the match.
