-- Mick Foley has been announced to appear on WWE's "Old School" themed live SmackDown episode on Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. on Syfy. Other legends appearing include Dusty Rhodes, "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan, Hillbilly Jim, Howard Finkel, Jimmy Hart, Mean Gene Okerlund, Pat Patterson, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, Sgt. Slaughter and Tony Atlas.
Obviously this means nothing BUT im in the mood to hope a little... With the Ambrose/Foley thing apparently being the plan to introduce Ambrose to the masses it seems only logical that Dean makes an appearance here as well. Foley in an "extreme" themed ppv could only help the buyrate but would it too soon to hope for a Foley vs Ambrose match? Would they dare have Deans "in ring debut" in such a smarky city?

The fact that he appears to be anti-being-forced-to-use-twitter-by-wwe in his tweets adds to the legend.

Just wanted to revisit this and say the Foley thing beats the hell out of my idea.
Hope it actually leads to something.

I read online earlier (will immediately search for story) that a loud "YES" chant erupted during a Miami Heat game today.
Danielson owns Miami folks.
EDIT:
No real confirmation, but its all over the dirt sheets.

The entire initial "Dayman" set with Charlie and Dennis = my alarm.
To OP, I cannot express to you how vital it is that you enjoy the first 4 seasons. Before you move on to season 5 rewatch the first 4. I still love the show, and it churns out some classic episodes to this day.... but its hard to beat those first few seasons.
ALSO:
My ladys aunt gave me an authentic dick towel and the IASIP Board Game for Christmas. If you can gather up a few fellow fans the game is great. The "Charlie Work" has resulted in some hilarious moments in this house ...from something as simple as someone being forced to fetch me a beer, to the look on the other persons face when they were told they had to lick my feet, priceless.

"Sweet'n'Sour" Spankymac: I dig the idea of the signs to the hard camera. That is actually very cool. PaulHeymanGuy: You nailed it as far as Ambrose not needing to actually win any matches to get over. I saw one of the promos he cut that was posted earlier on in this thread about him losing the belt to (I can't remember) and then he started going off about how he didn't lose etc. He actually ended up looking like... the winner. This guys psych level is really out of this world, Jake Roberts, out of this world. You summed it up, mentioning his psych level. Hes so damn unorthodox. One second he has this cheesy Dane Cook like grin on his face and the next its dead eyes, the way he shifts the tone of his voice.... I legit dont know if thats just how he is or if hes acting. The dude will sell an arm like the thing fell off too, its almost amazing.

To answer my own question:
Vignettes. Lots of 'em. Cut to Dean on the streets of Cincy talking about growing up homeless, suffering, how he grew tired of suffering/sturggling, and how he wanted a way out. These vignettes could draw comparison to those for "Silent Rage" or " Fatu: Make A Difference".... but with the mans delivery he could read a nursery ryhme and make it unsettling. What id be looking for is something along the lines of Waylon Mercy without being as cheesy. Something that doesnt scream "boo this man", but uneasy nonetheless. As the vignettes progress he talks about his path through life and how wrestling was his way to let out his frustration and to forget his living conditions. Again, im goin' for that Waylon Mercy thing here and I want to emphasize that money/fame doesnt mean as much to him as simple survival and that this was his way out.
Cut to his debut: Opponent already in the ring. Moxleys music hits and he somewhat slowly makes his way to the ring. Hes "happy to be there" and smacking a hand or two on the way...but he isnt cheesy. Pre-bell hes looking into the stands, the lights, kind of overwhelmed yet in control and he shakes his opponents hand. As the match goes a bit Mox starts to miss a few moves and make some mistakes. He becomes visibly frustrated and slips in a few stiff shots, smirks as only he can .... and goes bats*** crazy. Not "blasts 22 chairshots "crazy but "stomping the ever lovin crap out of the guys face and smiling while he does it "crazy. After a few minutes of "as violent as we can be within the rules on a WWE broadcast" he hits his finish and the match is over. Afterwards he kind of kneels down to his opponent and says something like "Nothing personal. It was either you or me".
Obviously this cant go on forever but a few weeks of it to establish him, then we evolve into a deal where hes like "Well I try to be a nice guy but that doesnt work". Eventually we pair him with a midcard face for his first real feud, hello Zack Ryder, and take it from there.
EDIT: Frankly he doesnt really need wins to get over. Those initial fits of rage could result in DQs.
I tdont mean to bury Ryder but hes the polar opposite of Mox and a quick intro feud writes itself.

I think wed all agree that his "gimmick" should stay (as close to) the same (as possible), sooooooo whats the best way to introduce him?

Hes like that guy you know who you dont fully trust. Maybe youve known him for 10 years or 10 minutes but either way you feel you just cant turn your back for fear of him stabbing you.
IMO hes a protypical old ECW guy; he has warts but thats part of the appeal.

With Chris Jericho, thinking about it now, it wouldn't have worked at that point in time for him. He was only a cruiserweight star at that time. There was no way he was going to beat Goldberg in late 1998 or anytime in 1999 being seen only as a cruiserweight. They would have had to build him up over time to be seen as a threat, and that would have took awhile to do. Oh, no doubt it wouldnt have worked in that era WCW... building new stars may as well have been building spaceships to those guys. The scenario I laid out wouldve been followed by Scott Norton squashing Jericho on Thunder if left in to the pens of those in charge at the time. Obviously one win doesnt make a superstar, its a process but Jericho was rrrrrrrrright there and they blew it.

A heavily hyped Nitro, in a big arena, with a "must see" main event (Hogan v Sting isnt right but you get the point). Lead into the match with some shocking backstage hijinks to get peoples attention away from RAW, then start the match at roughly the 10pm hour, Jericho gets some jobber offense... spear out of nowhere... nWo circles the ring as Goldberg goes for the jackhammer... Nash gets on the apron and distracts Goldberg/the ref...cheap shot by an nWo member...Jericho with a cheap win. Goldberg doesnt lose cred because it was a cheap loss. Hell, he could squash Jericho a month later and it wouldnt matter because of the quality storylines that could play out. Goldberg is more pissed at Nash for costing him the match than Jericho for winning, so that feud is good to go. Jericho gets a big(ger) head--and taken a bit more seriously--because he ended the streak. We get golden promos from Jericho, and hes elevated to at least upper midcard belt level feuds. We get tweener Jericho and the chance of a great face turn as the announcers speculate if he'll join the nWo or not. IMO there was no better choice on the roster.

The Rock really annoys me. Hes fine standing there alone ,telling his tales, and spouting his garbage.... but when he goes serious the dude is a laugh riot. I cant wait 'til this is over and we get Punk vs Austin next year.

For fans of hardcore, though youre probably well aware of them at this point, Defeater is hard to beat. "The red, white, and blues" seems a fitting first listen if you havent heard of them.
Without typing a full on review its worth mentioning that each ALBUM plays out like a top notch novel. Very interesting writing to be found in the genre to say the least.
If that song seems like "too much screaming" for you check out their most recent effort, in which the band daringly gets melodic. As heard here with " I dont mind".
Odds are you like one or the other, but perhaps not both. Personally I like both, but thus far their work leans more toward the screaming....which is fine by me.
I somewhat recently stumbled across The Maldives. A solid group for those of us with folksy roots who arent impressed with mainstream "southern style" music.
Justin Townes Earle , son of Steve Earle, has a bit of his namesakes vibe but is a fantastic stand alone artist.

Head to head. Daily. (Alt positions listed as well)
C Brian McCann 1b Prince Fielder 2b(OF) Ben Zobrist SS Starlin Castro 3b(1b) Pablo Sandoval OF Matt Kemp OF Carlos Gonzalez OF Hunter Pence Utility (1b,2b,3b) Michael Young Bench (1b,2b,OF) Michael Cuddyer
Pitchers SP Cole Hamels SP Josh Beckett RP Jonanthan Papelbon RP Jason Motte P (P,SP)Brandon Beachy P (P,SP)Gio Gonzalez P (P,SP)Ervin Santana Bench (P,SP) Jordan Zimmermann (P,SP) Ubaldo Jiminez (P,SP) Jaime Garcia (P,SP) Jhoulys Cacin (P,SP) Hiroki Kuroda (P,SP) Trevor Cahill
Obviously I stream starters. I do it daily. We are allowed 4 roster moves per week and will have two available DL spots once the season starts. Chacin, Kuroda, & Cahill (esp Cahill) will surely be cut for daily points but they were what I assumed to be the best available pitchers. In fact Cahill will probably be dumped by the time you read this.
