Eddie gonna show him all the good chopped cheese, pizza and chicken spots And that one Chinese spot that looks like it should never pass a health inspection but always has an A grade and absolutely god tier wontons n shit Those places have the best food for real. That's not even just a New York thing. If a restaurant looks like people have been using it hard, and thoroughly they got some GOOD food there.

This is proof that you don't need 30 minutes to have a classic, and those fast paced matches like that work better if they're shorter.

Different kind of New Yorker. Okada's more of a Wall Street New Yorker. Eddie's more of a "I will stab you, take your shoes and throw them on the telephone lines because I don't like the way you looked at me" New Yorker. There’s definitely a…greater than zero percent chance that Eddie has done exactly that 😂 I mean there's a story that he and Shane Storm had to kick a guy named Jay Phoenix out of the Chikara locker room after he was caught stealing from people's bags. They drove him to the airport and Kingston basically held him at knife point to get him there.

They just say Okada's living in NYC? That's just weird for me to imagine. We need Eddie Kingston teaching Okada how to be a New Yorker like Regal teaching Bobby Eaton to be a proper Englishman. Different kind of New Yorker. Okada's more of a Wall Street New Yorker. Eddie's more of a "I will stab you, take your shoes and throw them on the telephone lines because I don't like the way you looked at me" New Yorker.

This is the objectively correct way to start a PPV.

AEW's roster is f***ing ridiculous and this match shows exactly how lol PAC always reminds me of that. Because he'll have like, two months' worth of great matches, disappear for five months, and return and there's always someone like Okada to wrestle. If Pac could just stay healthy I'd say put all the f***ing belts on the guy.

Surprised they have JR calling Okada/PAC. Would've expected them to put him and Nigel both out there for Daneielson/Ospreay. JR LOVES Okada. He spent WK9 sleeping until Okada wrestled and he was back in his prime. Maybe we'll get an inkling of that here He certainly sounds more enthusiastic than normal.

Okada really didn't look comfortable swinging the chair in that video package. That's because Lil' Kazu is a sweet boy who has his mommy make his pants. I don't think it came up much as the ace of NJPW.

I think a lot of titles are changing hands tonight Considering there's a title unification bout that just happened, and one of the matches is for a vacant title I'd assume you're correct.

Okada Vs. Pac to open? Should be a fantastic way to start the night.

i don't think AEW has ever had an angle that destroyed every single participant as much as this one all six men are somehow way worse off The big issue was that there was no real question about where this angle was going in the end. It was always going to be title Vs. title. BCG was always going to betray them. And in the end there asn't even any clever subversions. It was just always what we knew it was going to be from top to bottom.

I don't know, he could be the guy who revives the Trios division, because The Acclaimed have ruined those belts that were such a high point not long ago. Jay is good enough to do something like that but I don't think matches with the Gunns as his partners would do it. They're fine as goofs but they're not the duo he'd need to bring this title back to the days of the House of Black, The Elite, and Death Triangle. Perhaps, but they could serve as the kind of heels needed to get a team over that really could do that. Jay White's a fantastic mastermind heel, and the Gunns are great at being remarkably slimy weasels who you just want to see get stomped. But anything's better than forgetting the belts exist for months at a time.

I've never gone from loving an act to just wanting them to go away more than I have with is the Acclaimed. Which is funny because I had the opposite progression in 2022.

There isn’t anything inherently bad about pushing someone as a white meat babyface. Problem is that Vince would push someone as such even though that’s not how someone got over in the first place. Like Shawn Michaels who got over by being a sneaky but charming rogue, turned into the paragon of virtue by 1996.

AEW has had a tendency to get waves of these which derail everything they have going at the time. In 2022, you had Punk break his foot right after winning the World title (which led to his current primadonna pissbaby era), Kyle O'Reilly and Bobby fish both got hurt followed by Adam Cole suffering two concussions in the span of about two months which nearly ended his career, derailing the feud they were setting up between the Elite and Undisputed Era, Thunder Rosa nearly broke her neck almost ending her career derailing the women's division in a way it's only just recovered from, Christian Cage injured his tricep, postponing his payoff with Jungle Boy by about 6 months. Given that this all happened at the same time, AEW's momentum stalled for quite a while.
