Surprisingly mixed reaction for Jack Perry in Chicago. Some people there have common sense, while others have already been told what their opinion is by CM Punk.

That turned from disrespectful to kinky real fast.

I didn't think babyface ELP could work, but he's a surprisingly likeable goofball. Especially since he was such a smarmy heel I mean I like heel ELP better, but face ELP is just fine.

My twitter timeline seems to be indicating that Tama Tonga debuted on Smackdown tonight. The number of people excited about Tama Tonga on there….it is adorable. He kind of came into his own towards the end of his run in NJPW, but he never really grew to be anything more than solid.

AZM plays a really loveable underdog. Didn't know her before this, but I'm a fan now.

Sabre was only 16 when he started. The moral here is that America is pretty much the only country that won't let you start wrestling until you're 18. And even then only in some states.

I've heard a lot of good things about AZM. Let's see how well she lives up to the hype.

Maybe this will be a good bout since the rest of HoT are in Taiwan this week. A one on one HoT match? That's a novel concept.

The crowd predictably does not care for The House of Torture. Can hear a pin drop At least they're giving Suzuki some love.

NJPW's English VTR narrator just sounds so low energy compared to the Japanese guy.

I said this in a different thread but Nic Nemeth is living the dream of a guy who was stuck in catering for years right now. He’s holding a New Japan belt he won in a main event in Japan. He’s main eventing the next TNA PPV for their belt. He’s main eventing AAA’s first TripleMania for their belt soon after. And he’s wrestling Ishii in Chicago today. If you choose to go non-AEW after you get your pink slip…hard to get better spots than he has. Ali has gone about it differently because he will work anywhere with anyone at any time and is grinding even harder…but he’s also done quite well for himself post WWE already I personally think Nemeth was always a guy who was held back in WWE just because of the company's style. He was always phenomenal in ring, but in terms of "it factor" there was always just guys who could just carry themselves better than him. In companies like NJPW, TNA and AAA in ring quality is just as if not more important than it factor.

Moxley could be a Grand Slam World Champion if he wins tonight. He'd be the first person ever to hold the WWE, AEW, and IWGP Heavyweight titles if he wins tonight. Effectively the three biggest titles in the world of wrestling right now, so we'll see. Personally I think he's taking it. He hasn't been on any AEW cards lately, which to me indicates they're giving him a break to do some stuff he wants to do on the side, and NJPW LOVES them some Jon Moxley. That being said as much as I think Moxley will be a great IWGP champion, I think putting the belt on an outsider when you've just had a mass exodus from your company of your top talent REALLY sends the wrong message.

Alright, let's get back to entertaining in ring product, and fun instead of stupid worked shoot nonsense and continuously dredging up the negativity of the last two and a half years.
That's a hell of a main event, and fortunately I'm off work that night so I'll be able to see it.

Like I said airing this was immensely stupid. It didn’t show us anything that anyone with more than two functioning braincells didn’t already know: Punk physically assaulted Jack Perry for no reason beyond his fragile narcissistic ego being slightly bruised.
Why the hell did Tony Khan think taking the negative publicity and amplifying it by replying was a good idea? Just stupid all the way through.

he threw multiple punches at Perry What? Did you watch the footage?
Rewatching it the first one was a shove but he definitely took a swing at him once Joe pulled the two apart.

I mean, Punk was the first person to make physical contact grabbing Perry by the throat, and unlike his claims he threw multiple punches at Perry before lunging at Tony Khan.
That being said, nobody’s mind was changed and all it did was call more attention to an incident I’m sure we’d all rather move on from.
