Imagine if a lot of people on here did boycott Impact, then I wouldn't have to read about how much they hate it every day.

It's kind of funny. I have heard people complain about the WWE for the longest time, but have yet to see any suggestions of boycotting Vince's fed. Without comparing the 'E' to TNA, why is it that no one is talking about boycotting WWE PPVs if they're so unhappy with the product? (Personally, I've been boycotting the WWE since the Attitude era began.)

Considering the fact that there's probably no one on this forum that lives in a Nielson home, it would probably have no impact on TNA whatsoever.

Not watching has never stopped WWE, ROH, WSX or any other product bashing, so why would it stop for TNA?

I'm pretty certain in the year and a half I've been here, I've seen that suggestion for boycotting Vince on more than one occasion.

I wouldn't boycott it, but if TNA or WWE dissapoints me I'll talk about it, sorry if that offends anyone.

Boycotting is pointless. It serves no purpose...

The ratings system is not done through all of the TV sets in America. A very small percentage of the country has little boxes on top of their TVs which relay what channel is being watched, and the figures are compiled from that. So, unless you know or are one of the select few 'ratings TV' people, it will make no difference.

Now personally, I'd just not watch Impact because it's terrible and, with the talent they have at their disposal, could be fantastic...

Yeah, boycotting their cable show won't do a damn thing.

I'm as disappointed with Impact lately as a lot of other people are, but you're not gonna accomplish anything this way. Like someone else said, just write them, say that you WANT to enjoy it, but that they're making it harder and harder.

It's shocking to me how TNA went, in my eyes, from fun and exciting ONE month ago at the PPV, to suddenly looking completely unappealing.

It's just such a shame. TNA has some outstanding talent, a backer obviously prepared to lose money to succeed and an industry which desperately wants it to succeed. It could be something really great, but idiot bookers and management are totally, completely ruining it...

Well, I don't watch it anyway, so I guess I'm boycotting it by proxy. Though, as many people have said, not watching Impact! doesn't mean jack unless you live in a Nielsen House. Now, if you want to do a PPV, then I guess I'm in your boycott again by proxy since I don't order TNA PPVs. In fact, I don't order any wrestling PPVs; it's too damn expensive and I usually don't have access to a PPV channel. So, I'm with you by coincidence or accident or proxy or whatever the f*** you want to call it.

Exactly, I can't explain it. The July PPV (with the Joe/Angle vs. Dudleys match) was a LOT of fun, and pretty well executed. The Impacts leading up to it were basically exciting, "I'd hate to miss it" affairs, and my hopes were pretty high following it all.

But then they spend the month in between that and Hard Justice just doing everything they can to piss that goodwill away. How do they do it?!

I've never been one to call for a boycott, but I feel like I want to stage some kind of mega-protest against WWE and TNA at this point. Mainstream wrestling is about as entertaining these days as watching your parents paint the living room.

now understand i do not hate tna, i love it, and it pains me to see what a waste of space they have become, and i would agree that tna is by and large better than WWE, but with the continuous nature of giving away your big money matches away for free on tv and burial of young homegrown talent is unacceptable, i continue to encourage all of you to continue to get the word out about the "Ignore Impact Initiative"

Grass roots “IGNORE TNA IMPACT INITIATIVE” rapidly gaining steam and generating discussion and debate among frustrated wrestling fans


As you may or may not already be aware, there is a rapidly growing grass roots movement afoot among the internet wrestling fan community to boycott this Thursday's Impact program, airing on 8/16.

Dubbed the "Ignore Impact Initiative", the approach and desired outcome is a positive one. The pro-active “voice of the people” is designed to send a clear, strong message to TNA management regarding widespread dissatisfaction over the recent booking trends and sharp swing back towards intelligence insulting, cheesy gimmickry and outright illogical marketing tactics. This, following an earlier summer series of shows where compelling wrestling based episodes were aired and tested - and without question proven beyond a shadow of doubt to garner consistently higher ratings for the promotion while offering itself as a true alternative for eager viewers.

This viral word-of-mouth boycott has quickly generated an amazingly strong reaction among thousands of frustrated wrestling fans and is spreading as we speak to thousands more. Starting within the talkimpact.com community on the evening of 8/13, the movement has within literally less than a 24 hour period spiked significant net traffic and publicity for the cause. This morning found multiple sports and wrestling hotlines, fan blogs and forums around the world discussing the crusade for change within TNA Wrestling. There is great interest in spotlighting the story from multiple wrestling radio shows, such as Between The Ropes for one prime example, and Brian Alverez of Figure 4 Weekly devoted a full seven minutes to the Ignore Impact Initiative to open his latest audio update today.

I don't want to boycott. I want them to succeed. Besides, I enjoy the show about 60 percent of the time.
