The cruiserweight championship is a major title? That may be the biggest compliment that title has gotten. What's wrong with a little person holding a title anyway? It's kinda messed up that we all see that as a joke. He's a trained wrestler who probably worked many years to get where he is. So are some of the women on WWE's roster and look at what they are reduced to. Same story.

Has the entire show really turned around just with an ROH alumus as the champ? Don't they have a tiny roster of mostly guys they couldn't fit on the two other shows without any titles to feud over? The reviews I read on wrestling sites (two or three) have never had anything good to say about this show until this past week. Many sites were predicting this show's cancellation as of a few months ago. They may have a good champion, but who is he going to defend it against? Monty Brown? Christian couldn't get a good title match out of him in TNA. I'm really surprised so many of you would advocate for this show. Did it undergo a complete metamorphasis since fans were expecting to see RVD vs. Jerry Lynn or Mike Awesome vs. Masato Tanaka nearly took their own lives after Sci fi premiere? Jeezuss. I never said the show was stellar, just that it was pretty good. And I thought so long before Punk was champ. But never mind. Just stay pissed at all of mainstream wrestling.

They say it's a joke that a grown man who just happens to have a condition where he's not as tall as the average person has a championship belt that he's easily in the weight division for. Peter Dinklage played King Lear on Broadway and he was praised for his work. Not called a joke for suffering from dwarfism.

The last time I saw this title was in WCW where Chris Jericho and Dean Malenko feuded over it for months. Then Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero and Billy Kidman and Juvedud Guerrarra put on 5 star matches over it. That's how *I* remember the cruiserweight title before it came to WWE.

I'm a bit stuck on the whole "ECW only has 14 minutes of wrestling over the course of 2 one-hour shows." Punk/Morrison was at least that long this week so I guess there will be no wrestling on the show next week.

I'm not 'pissed' at WWE (and I don't consider it 'wrestling' but that was a thread that dragged on for 12 pages...) Ok, maybe if I'm not busy on a Tuesday night (is it Tuesday?) I'll try watching it for a bit. I do like that hot blonde who is dating Andrew Martin. I'll see if their new world champion can interest me. But the moment I see Vince I'm switching it off! ;D

Yeah and in the dying days of WCW it was held by Oaklahoma, Madusa, The Artist, Kwee Wee and Evan Karagious. That's why I stopped ordering WCW ppvs those last two years. I also quit following ECW before that company went under. That doesn't mean I don't miss both companies' "Glory years."

It's completely changed since it first debuted, and every thing I've heard about it in the past few months have had positive things to say about it. They do have a tiny roster (at least compared to the clusterf*** that is the TNA roster), that also means you see more of the roster on a regular basis. They could use another title to feud over, but that doesn't change that the wrestling is pretty good for people willing to look at it as its own separate entity (rather than judging it either based on the old ECW or the current WWE).

I'm just trying to say it's not Hornswoggle that turned the CW belt into a joke. He's a better champ than plenty of the former title holders.

I don't believe he appeared last week, or any week before then back to the death angle. It's not really common, and certainly not for long when he does appear.

Ok, I REALLY didn't know any of that. Sorry, Hollywood. I still thought the show was considered the "C" show of a company that I don't even want to watch the "A" show. It's easy to forget now, but when the show started it was promoted as a separate entity and fans hoped Heyman would be given autonomy. That didn't work out so I thought it was still the worst wrestling show on TV. When Russo came back to TNA the refrain you kept hearing was, "At least it's still better than ECW on Sci Fi!"

And he's only called a joke because he suffers from dwarfism. If he was 5"6' and was playing a leprechaun character people wouldn't scoff at it as much. (like if Crash held the belt in his Erin O'grady character).

WWE certainly treats ECW like the "C Show," but I still find it far more enjoyable than RAW (I never see SmackDown). It tends to be more wrestling-centered than the other shows. Last week's show featured four matches I think, and none of them were squashes. And the main event was the best of Morrison and Punk's WWE tenures.

Has the entire show really turned around just with an ROH alumus as the champ? Don't they have a tiny roster of mostly guys they couldn't fit on the two other shows without any titles to feud over? They do have a tiny roster, but still have good talent. They have wrestlers like CM Punk, Stevie, Elijah Burke, and even Morrison. Talented people trying to make an impact as well as a good case for why they're the future They have the entertainers like Thorn, Boogeyman, Balls, and Big Daddy V. Not the greatest technical wrestlers in the world, but they make their gimmick count. Boogey has also shown so amazing improvement. They have the old school vertern Tommy Dreamer who remains a top star while also helping put over other talent. They have the young gun, Miz, who is the cocky son-of-a-gun. They have the possibility of adding new people to the roster at anytime thanks to the new GM, the highly charismatic Armando Estrada (whose middle name wasn't extreme enough for ECW). Well, then I'm guessing the sites you read may have a heavy bias against the show. I may not like TNA, but I am willing to admit when Impact was good (like this week's show), however, some people refuse to give New ECW a chance. Anyone babbling about the "cancellation" of ECW are really kind of bitter towards the product. It is usually one of, if not the, highest rated show on Sci-Fi. Monty Brown or Marcus Cor Von is a charismatic machine. His feuds are built on the microphone. Marcus has some talent and can handle himself in the ring. He falls under the entertainer marker in my opinion. A feud with Punk would have some good mic work. Burke/Punk is a proven feud. Punk could easily have a few matches with Miz. Even Tommy Dreamer could step up for a face/face match. It all depends on the writing People overhyped ECW hard at the beginning. That was their own fault. Add-in that the first few months of the show were far from stellar and I understand the stigma the show has to overcome. ECW is a well-booked show with decent to great wrestling for a majority of the time. It is a chance to see the future of the WWE, today. It is a chance for older wrestlers to gain a new image and try one last time for a big spot. It is a chance for a charismatic wrestler to get over (look at Balls Mahoney). Do you understand where I'm coming from?

It's certainly nothing more than a piss break or masturbation fodder. The champ is the champ because she posed in playboy not because of being a wrestler or anything like that.
