Can I put like $50 on Necro against the guy boasting on the internet about how tough he is? Only if I can put $100 on Necro and have the distribution rights to the tape. Although I think video clips less than 15 seconds long might be public domain...

That's fine. I've done it plenty both inside and outside of organized fighting. I don't know the guy, but I know me, and I'd be willing to bet I would win. That guy is nothing special. Actually... it's about as likely that I'll get to back up such a bold claim, so... I'd knock you out if we met, yes I would. I whupped King Kong, I whupped Pak Song, ah even whupped Teddy Long, so I could whup yo nasty ass! Or words to that effect. Like I said. That's fine. I would not expect to to believe some faceless opinion on your board would or could bust open your fake wrestling hero and leave him in a pile on the floor anyways. It's cool.

Let's raise the stakes... you've gone over Necro, okay? Reasonable amount of time to rest and prepare, then you fight Steven Regal. Do you win?

Can I put like $50 on Necro against the guy boasting on the internet about how tough he is? For the record, I'm not boasting. I was asked if I would fight with him. I said yes. I said yes because I think I would win vs. him in a fight. That's it. I am not concerned whether or not I am perceived to be dangerous or not by my friends here. I was just answering a question. Peace.

I must be missing the boat, because I don't like him either. Sloppy, boring brawler. I'm not stating it as universal fact ... just my opinion. And my opinion is, he sucks on ice.
Jed Shaffer ~I don't understand how a guy like BJ Whitmer, who CAN wrestle, gets crapped on, but Necro is beloved.

I have seen some Indy wrestling and I don't like it. I was under the impression both positive and negative opinions were accepted here? Have you asked the members who dislike Cena why they post about him in a negative light...? Or about Lashley...? Because you are asking me the same thing. I understand you Indy fans are sensitive souls, and by God anyone say anything bad about the wrestling you like. But it's cool for you to rag on the WWE - the wrestling I like..that's ok. And I'm sorry if you think I was "boasting." I was simply backing up my opinion with reason. Much like when I said I don't get Butcher because he is a pile of monkey crap.

And I'm sorry if you think I was "boasting." I was simply backing up my opinion with reason. Much like when I said I don't get Butcher because he is a pile of monkey crap. There's a huge difference between disliking something and flat out bashing it. There's also a difference between flat out bashing stuff and actively pissing people off. There's also a difference between constructive arguments and trolling. And let me state for the record that I stay the hell out of threads where I disagree with it. The only forum I actively participate in is this one. I stay away from the WWE threads unless I liked something and then comment on that fact and explain myself. I find the experience is a lot more enjoyable for everyone involved if I don't just go in to every WWE thread and talk about how John Cena is overrated or how they need to focus more on wrestling and less on sports entertainment. But hey - typecast me and everyone else here all you want. Search our names and then look for all the posts we do on the WWE boards. You'll find a. that only a handful of us post regularly on the WWE boards and b. most of us aren't negative about the WWE. Most of the jackasses who bash the WWE don't really come over here.

I saw my first Necro match last week when, it was from ROH's Ring of Homicide. He earned a bit of respect from me being buried under all those chairs like that, and then kicking out and finishing the match off.

Everything about Whitmer screams generic. I'm not saying it's right, that's just how it is.

Sure. I have seen some Indy wrestling and I don't like it. I was under the impression both positive and negative opinions were accepted here? We kinda have a rule around here ... I'm pretty sure it's a posted rule. I could be wrong. Anyway, it basically is: If you don't have anything but negativity towards a posted subject, don't post in the subject, since it leads to heated tempers, flaming and bannination. Dissenting opinions is one thing, and backing it up with fact is good. But if you come into a thread just to bash something ... not good. In a word, charisma. Necro is fascinating whether you love him or hate him. Everything about Whitmer screams generic. I'm not saying it's right, that's just how it is. I guess I am weird, because I see it the exact opposite. Necro=generic yard-tard garbage wrestler, Whitmer=entertaining wrestler. Jed Shaffer ~My favorite wrestler is also Steve Corino, so it shows you how weird I am.

I dont think I would be able to knock Necro out. I wouldnt mind fighting him myself though, I have enough BJJ and Muay Thai training, that I think I could keep him close in my clinch, get him to the ground, and choke him out.
It seems like it would take a hammer to KO him, but on the real, he is a hella sloppy fighter.

After posting earlier, I went and checked out some of Necro's more current stuff. I have to admit that as long as he keeps the garbage out of it (especially the light tube ****), he's an entertaining brawler and does have a weird charisma about him. I just wish he and others like him would give up some of the stuff they do in their matches. I don't mind brawling, blood, chairs....but some of the stuff he does just goes too far and he's above that crap.

And that's a bad thing? I wasn't too into Necro at first, just seemed like another garbage wrestler to me. But after his match with (I forget the guy's name...maybe Spankypac can remind me?) at TWGP 2006: Night 3, I became a fan. He's no Bret Hart, never will be, but he's got charisma, and he can do good things in the ring even without loads of plunder. He's not my favorite or anything, but I just can't not like the guy. Yoshiaki Yago, and yes, that match is classic. Honestly, no hardcore stuff, but just a great flat out brawl. Plus I believe it had Eddie Kingston on commentary singing along with Yago's entrance theme. "Hey, it's The Doors. 'You know the day destroys the night, night divides the day'." Hearing Eddie sing Break On Through always cracks me up.
