I don't even hate the guy we could pull a thread on another guy I think gets treated way above what he should. My only issue is the fact that he is treated as if he was the Rock in his prime, and well he wasn't. He is not a super draw by himself he just isn't. He's a good guy to have around because like I said he's "old reliable". I should have said this long before to clarify that, I think he's in the old Bret Hart spot of some years ago. He may not be champion at the moment but he always hangs around because he's old reliable. He'll never leave, he'll always be there his matches and angles at the very worst will be passable. Now if you wanna talk about a guy who I think is treated far to well....it's JBL. You'd think that guy was Steve Austin in his prime the perks and the way he is treated. The guy is an absolute heat magnet as a heel. To say he just isn't a good draw is ridiculous. Ratings went down when he had a long reign, but not BECAUSE he had a long reign, it was because it was a natural downturn along with stars leaving. He was absolutely hated, and people paid to see him lose. As for being 'protected', why does it matter? He's being 'protected' because they want to use him in the Mania main event to make either Orton, Cena or both, look better. He had a smirk on his face after losing to Jeff, because it WAS supposed to be a fluke. Jeff was not meant to look like he was now better than HHH, at the very most he was meant to look like his equal, as it was HHH going to the Mania main event and not Jeff. The reason HHH is going there isn't to feed his own ego, it's to make someone else look good. That's the whole reason he is as protected as he is, because keeping his crediblity strong means someone will look all the better for beating him. If Austin or Rock were still here instead, they would get the same treatment. Best. Post. Ever. Well played my friend, well played.

You mean like every single heel in the company is either a chickencrap or a big dumbass......unless H is heel he doesn't get booked that way. Wrong. When the won the belt at No Mercy, it took a match with Umaga(which he won cleanly by the way), and then ANOTHER match with Orton to finally lose the damn thing. When he "put over" Jeff Hardy a few Raws ago, did he lose to the Swanton like HBK? Nope, it had to be some dumbass roll-up finish followed by a smug HHH reaction acting as if it was some kind of fluke that he lost. I love this garbage. Even when he puts someone over clean, people bitch about HOW he put them over. I guess he was supposed to bow down and scream "JEFF, YOU ARE MY NEW GOD!"

HHH should for the good of the company be losing 4 minute squash matches to both Hardys, Jericho, Orton, Umaga, JBL, Finlay, Shelton, Punk, Haas, Hornswoggle, Maryse, Shane's kid, His own kid, His unborn fetus, Hugo Savinovich, Justin Roberts, Maria, Kelly Kelly, Joey Styles, Tony Chimel... The only person he should ever be booked to beat is John Cena...in the opening match...of Heat. [/smark logic]

Yes I do.
I was mildly bored by his long run as Top Heel (aka Triple H's reign of terror), but later I understood that made sense from a business standpoint, as he was the only credible guy to rely on while waiting for the New Top Guy to come along.
His Post-Evolution run has been very good IMO, with enjoyable matches and quite entertaining stuff.
Sure, he's not at the top of his game anymore, but he's still one of the best in WWE.

See, this thread has proven that some people can't understand that HHH just flat out isn't interesting to some people. It's not all about the backstage politics argument.

I've always liked Triple H, like most others I kind of grew tired of him during his Death tour of 2002-2005 but I still liked him.

no i cant stand the man. he is a great wrestler but i hate how he acts back stage. for example i cant stand how he keeps putting the belt on himself to keep getting his overall number for holding the title higher. like that 1 ppv that had vince hand the belt over to orton. of course triple h had to win the belt that night just to give it back to orton so he can raise his total up higher to be like ric flair

I may not have watched for awhile, but I've never had that much use for the guy at any point.

Let's be dead frank honest with this, if that was any other wrestler that down turn in business would have been blamed upon him. The WWE doesn't really use logic when deciding what wrestlers can't draw, he got the benefit of the doubt because of his connections on that one.

HHH is a bonafide legend, and while I don't agree with everything he does, he has MADE Wrestlemania headliners, had some of the greatest matches of all time, and has been one of the top draws in the business for the past 10 years.

He's booked at the top but for the majority of his time there he hasn't been the #1 draw.

In any case, I found the show mor entertaining and unpredictable that way. I would not have prefferred the Umaga vs HHH match going ahead as planned with nothing on the line, and I would not have preferred Orton simply being awarded the belt then having the show end. Orton getting the belt then beating HHH, who would have already had a match with Umaga, would have done nothing. That way it was unpreditable. It was FUN. That's what this whole business is meant to be about.

The WWE doesn't really use logic when deciding what wrestlers can't draw, he got the benefit of the doubt because of his connections on that one. Business took a downturn when Bret won the title, He still main evented until the end of his WWE run when WCW grossly overpaid for him Business absolutely tanked when Kevin Nash was champion, he was still main eventing (including a PPV main event title match in his final televised bout) before going to WCW who made him a focal point in the biggest angle ever to that point Shawn Michaels also had a terrible run from a money drawing perspective, yet he remained in a main event spot until he was injured. He then returned to that spot when he came back. So please save me the "anyone else" would have been blamed and shunted to the mid-card arguement. WWE, unlike you apparantely, understands that a downturn in business can be caused by a variety of things that have nothing to do with your main eventers.

Maybe you may not like his matches but others do. I don't think he's that bad as some would say, and enjoyed his heel work in 99-00 especially as I really hated the guy at the time.

It was about beginning one of the top matches for WM (HHH's quest to the title, Orton's reign of terror). It gave the fans an exciting opening match (what other PPV besides the TNA weeklies has ever opened with the World title match?), got HHH more over as an underdog who would take on all comers full force, and then in the end, gave Orton some credibility, PLUS a top challenger for later on down the road.

I appreciate all that he has done, and think he is damn good, but in terms of being a 'mark' for him, that's well wide of the mark. I don't really want him winning the belt at Mania, I jumped out of my seat when Jeff kicked out of the pedigree and cheered madly when Orton beat him in the LMS. I defend him because the criticism he gets is ridiculous.

Sure use examples from when "no one could draw" and that was pretty much how they looked at it...
Now lets get a bit closer to today...Jericho was put up there business went down some and he was quickly put in the this guy can't draw as a maineventer view.
He got the benefit of the doubt other guys probably wouldn't have gotten at that time...of course that is the story of his career. Even without Stephanie he got a push that would have gotten anyone over they went out of their way for him and they don't do that for many guys.
It's like people forget when they first tried to push him as a maineventer he frankly tanked and they gave him everything in the world and kept him there saying to fans "accept it and shutup" 9 out of 10 times if fans don't respond they say you don't connect and depush you.
Not saying that's his fault but he has caught some breaks.

You name me someone else in the past ten years besides Undertaker who has been a consistent draw. Jericho? HBK? Angle? HHH goes all the way back to the Attitude Era (which is great as it has showed his longevity as a top star), and today, is still one of the most over acts in the business.
