OK, what's up with all the AIDS in comics? I understand it was a hot issue at the time...but someone powered by HIV? Really? I'll issue a request, while I'm at work tonight, if someone can find me every instance of this (or at least quite a few of them), I'll reward them with something. I have no idea what. But yeah. It just seems...exploitative. Other than the ones all ready mentioned the only other I can think of is Speedy from Green Arrow. Winnik got the brain fart that seeing how she used to be a hooker he could make her DEEP by making it so she has AIDS. Unfortunately he did the whole thing in a f***tarded manner including making Ollie a total f***ing idiot who doesn't know what AIDS is. While I agree he wrote Ollie as a moron, the actual reason he gave her AIDS(Which sounds different than how he really did it) was because a close friend of his died from AIDS. I disagree with it all the same, in that I honestly don't think an active superhero with AIDS is a very good idea.

that explanation fails when you realize he already wrote a (much better) book about said friend. oh and he also thinks we need more asian superheroines and then writes said characters as total idiots who can't defend themselves. dont even get me a started on how he fails at writing Black Canary.

I didn't say he had a particularly good reason for making her have AIDS, I just figured awareness(however feebly done) was more his motivation than shock factor. I agree on the rest, though. He's capable of more, but man, he sure isn't showing that.

Did Kevin Smith ever finish the Spider-Man/Black Cat mini-series? I heard that issue 4 was delayed and I never got around to finding out if it finally finished.

All six issues have been collected in both hard- and softcover books. EDIT: Wow. According to the Comic Book Database, issue #3 has a cover date of October 2002 while issue #4 is dated February 2006. That's some delay.
