Taker-Punk was originally scheduled to go on last but Taker requested to move it to the opener because he wasn't sure he was capable of a PPV-quality main event in the shape he's in.

So, Undertaker was nervous that he may let the fans down at the end of the show so had a match at the beginning when there is less pressure. Makes sense to me.

I thought their match was placed first on the card because CM Punk had the heatz?

Same thing I thought when I heard this yesterday. GOod on Taker. Although it did lead to the set people rushing around getting the flammable point set up for his entrance and all, apparently. Though it still begs the question, he doesn't feel he's in shape to main event, why is he in shape to carry the brand as their champion?

Good thing he can just slide out of the title picture and have smaller feuds now...

He's 80% done at WM 26 IMO. So...time to start building him to one big "rub" feud (or two if WWE can f***ing handle that.) Preferaibly a heel...uhhhhhh....yeah. Ziggler's nowhere near ready in my mind for that, uhhh Y2J doesn't need it. Even if you take RAW guys Miz could kinda work if he holds his belt for awhile. Swagger could work if he ever won. ...UHHHH

Including the ECW Championship somehow! -Orton retains vs. Cena to start Bragging Rights, sending Cena to Smackdown. -Punk beats Taker for the WHC -Orton runs into, and pisses off Vince backstage, Vince makes the WWE title on the line in the SD vs Raw Brand Battle. Whoever gets the pin gets the title. -Miz attacks Morrison backstage, eliminating Morrison from being able to wrestle in the brand battle, and leaving a vacant spot. -Cena is inserted into the brand battle for Smackdown, where he pins Orton to win the title. -Vince comes out and says we cant have 2 champions on one show, so CM Punk is now officially on Raw -Triple H challenges CM Punk to a title match here and now, where he pedigrees him 12 seconds in and wins the title.

This actually makes me really, really sad. I mean, not in a disappointed way, but it makes me kind of feel bad for Taker. It's got to suck, getting to that age and all of the work starting to take its toll. Especially if you've been so deeply connected to the business for as long as he has.
And then it makes me even sadder to think that his time is definitely running out, and soon there will be no Undertaker in my WWE. It's really just depressing. :/

Undertaker is still working great matches. He should not start thinking he can not main event anymore. I felt his match was great.

It is a pretty sad situation. I remember a while back in an inteview 'Taker said something like "When the boys feel like they have to go easy on me and treat me as a special case, I'll know it's time to retire." He seems like the kind of guy that would rather have a short hard hitting match than a twenty minute match with loads of showmanship but little action, in a Hulk Hogan kind of way.
To be fair to him, though; that interview was conducted in about 2003 and if it's only becoming truly apparent seven years later, he's got nothing to be ashamed about. I hope he can get his injuries sorted, have a few more great matches with some choice names and retire whilst he's able to walk.

Well at least 'Taker realizes he can't go like he used to.....hopefully he'll just go away sooner than later now.
I respect the guy and all he's accomplished and that he's a lockeroom leader and company guy but he's stale as 2 year old bread. He bores me to the point I roll my eyes and change the channel when he comes out.
So.....Punk doesn't have teh heatz for pissing off the deadman with his dress code and 'Taker feels he can't still wrestle like he used to but is capable of carrying the brand? Hmm.

He still has many good matches in him if you ask me and I feel he can still be main event.

So.....Punk doesn't have teh heatz for pissing off the deadman with his dress code... I got an image of Punk and Taker sitting across the dressing room, glaring at each other....and the last roll of athletic tape sitting in the middle of the floor between them...Good, Bad and Ugly style.

I feel if Undertaker & Punk was on last it could have been given more time and could have been far better then it was.
