Does anyone else find them kinda pointless? This came to mind from tonight's opening segment where DX referenced Katie Vick and HHH's marriage to Stephanie. And it's not just tonight; he's done them many other times as well like the "I guess Brooklyn Brawler was busy tonight" comment made towards Abe "Knuckleball" Schwartz at the McMahon family reunion on the RAW anniversary show.

Best part of the show, for my money. The reason I loved WCW the way I did, especially during the NWO days, was that everything had this feel of authenticity, that anything could happen and it was live TV and it was less scripted than the cartoony WWF stuff and all of that. Anytime I hear something that feels more "real," I love it.

the problem isn't the inside jokes/ personal jabs HHH takes at people it's that no one in the WWE allow to shoot it back at him.

I love it because somehow it feels like he's more aware; like he could be one of us.
Even though he couldn't. But it's nice to know that they're aware of this stuff.

It brings back bad memories of WCW. Remember when they went overboard on the insider shit? If the E goes down that route...ughhhhh...

Its his way of burying talent, so I really hate it when he does that most of the time.

If it's done with subtlety, or as a throwaway joke I've got no problem with it. Hell, with Hunter and Shawn I usually enjoy their inside jokes ("I thought you don't do jobs?" "You married what's her name!!" etc)
It's when you make full blown angles based around something 25% of the audience is gonna get, ala WCW, then you've got a problem

I love the little inside jokes. I know I probably read too much into them, but I always take it as a little shout out to the 'smart' fans. Actually, it's really the only thing that makes DX somewhat redeemable in my mind.

I love 'em. Then again, I actually like 2009 DX a whole lot (the WWE being PG has actually made them more creatively funny, rather than them sprouting 200 dick jokes a day in 2006), so what do I know?

I never thought he was funny with those. He comes off like one of those douchebags that try to put people down to make themselves look real cool. But then again, just my opinion.

I personally really enjoy them, they always have me cracking up. Like someone above mentioned, it's almost like a shout-out to us. It's like a big winky-face.

PLEASE tell me the "burial" stuff people are spouting is done in jest, you know what? I'm just gonna say it is either way.
But yeah, I find them funny - generally speaking I find Hunter makes sure not to go too over the top and it's done so subtle that people who don't 'get it' aren't alienated but people that 'do' find it quite funny (with exception, of course). This entire DX run so far they've just been "middle aged smarks" and I've been loving it from the start.

I love them. I was mentioning to my friend when Kofi was talking on Raw tonight that he had no accent, then Triple H comes in and says it right there. I marked.

I was starting to say to my brother, "Wait, what happened to his accent...?" just as Triple H pointed it out. We both died, it was a great moment.

Often it is funny, but the Masters' comment was going too far a couple of years ago. He sometimes does take it too far, and no one else does get to get their own shots in, which is wrong. Don't dish it out if you don't want to take it.

The day he and Stephanie take over the company is that day they may as well hang a "For Sale" sign outside WWE headquarters. I can't believe some of you people think this is cool hell just think of all the careers Triple H has buried as a result of this crap and how many people both faces and heels have had to stand there in that ring and backstage and eat eat s*** like that especially Cena and Orton because there not allowed to fire back at him. In my opinion it's WCW all over again. and people wonder why I'm UFC fan now instead of a WWE one.

The WWE loves to job champions in non-title matches, or #1 contenders a week or 2 before their title shot. It happens ALL. THE. TIME. It's the WWE's way of saying, our booking & match results doesn't matter, so don't bother caring one bit. Oh yea. that'll be $39.99 please.
