I'm not "uptight" about it. My point is, you can break down anyone's interests down to a point where they all sound dumb/stupid/questionable, whether it be music, sports, movies, books, tv, whatever. No one is immune to it, so really no point in insulting people over it.

Who'd have thought a movie with vampires, werewolves, a pervert/stalker, and a teenage half-naked Native American child molester would be such a huge hit? That's gold.

My station covered the midnight release of New Moon, and we interviewed people coming out of the theatre. 97 percent of them were girls and all they could talk about was Jacob's abs. Then there was one guy we were trying to interview, but another guy in the background yelled out, "afraid of losing your man card over this?!" eh, no different than the Transformers 2 hype, where the only interviews I ever saw were 17 year old boys who said how hot Megan Fox is. Transformers 2 was awful as well.

I will use that quote that caused a tizzy again for Transformers 2 and replace teen girls and fat chicks with teen boys if it makes everyone happy. That movie was garbage too, except they tricked me in putting it on my Netflix queue.

Its telling that Twilight had a 70 mil plus opening day but did 140 mil for the entire weekend. This means that roughly half of its B.O. was in its opening day alone. The overall weekend score is actually below Dark Knight's but the opening day was HUGE. Hope fully this kills the "women are so much mature than men/women's movies are quiet with lots of legs, whereas men's are dumb blockbusters with huge opening days" argument DEAD.
Women can make a huge dumb frontloaded blockbuster as well as men can now. They now have to deal with this instead of "playing the victim".

To be fair... they raise movie ticket prices like hotcakes. I guarantee tickets were a dollar or two cheaper when the Dark Knight came out. I've actually never seen Dark Knight so... I might have to get on that with Netflix. This twilight crap is driving me insane. I don't even understand why anyone would see it... the previews just look so flipping retarded. I can understand some movies like "O ok well I can see chicks seeing that" but this one, I'm just like "Why the F*** would anyone want to see this?"

I agree with you. A couple friends dragged me to that movie, and it was the biggest waste of time of my whole summer(and over the summer I'd spend anywhere from 7-12 hours in bed each day). I just remember quite a bit of love for it, when basically, Twilight/New Moon is basically the girlie version of a transformers-type movie(terrible dialogue, HAWT people, CGI fight scenes, stupid story).

If they haven't, then it hasn't increased at all.

I'm sure it's raised up at least a dollar. They increase prices so much faster than they ever used to. It's like $9 to see a movie now, it's ludicrous.

Where I live tickets have only increased like 50 cents in the last two years. Also, DK came out summer 08, so its been close to a year and a half, not two.

DK was middle of July. Now if you're referring to 3-D tickets, those are more costly, but completely irrelevant to the argument since neither Twilight, New Moon, nor Dark Knight was in 3-D.

It's not a complicated movie to get. It has a pretty simple story. Plus there was more closeups on her butt then cleavage I remember!

Did " The Dark Knight" have sparkling vampires shirtless werewolves? Yup. It's all about the abs.

I think the important thing to me, and the reason I hate Twilight so much is they have trashed the badass-ness of vampires and werewolves. Last time I checked, Vampires weren't allowed in the sun, and they drank human blood. Also, neither werewolves or vampires were glittery.
