For me it's X-Men's big baddie Vulcan. He died at the end of the recent limited series War of Kings in a fight with Black Bolt(B.B. died too as well). I really hope Vulcan doesn't come back. He worries me. One thing to note - Black Bolt's real name is Blackagar Boltagon? I mean come ON! That's like DC having Theodore Flashington, or Greensleeves Lanternagain. I don't like Ultron. His prime motivation is a hatred of Hank Pym. So is mine, but I don't have to put much effort into it, Pym does that himself by being a big douche.

I was dissapointed to read that they scrapped X-treme as the third summer's brother and replaced him with this guy. As X-treme would say.........Burn Vulcan.......... BURN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had to look him up to see what the fuss was about, (I hardly read Marvel anymore) The moment I heard "3rd Summers Brother" I hated his guts with a visceral rage. In that vein, not so much a villain, but more an entire family, I hate the Summers clan, with the possible exception of Corsair. The family is far too jumbled and the family tree as I understand it is about as tangled as a thornbush and not nearly as painful to slog thru.

A-f***ING-MEN!!!!! www.mutanthigh.com/trees/summerstree.htmlSupposedly this is the "Complete" family tree of the Summers line.....I refuse to believe it because I thought that Mr. Sinister was somehow related to the whole mess and time travel was involved in some way. Back on topic.....I truly hate Maligna from the old Mighty Mutanimals book.....mostly for succeeding and actually destroying the entire team in the last issue. I loved the Mutanimals.

That is the most "90's comics" thing I've ever seen. I want to make a Rob Liefield joke, but I can't seem to get coherent enough for it. The picture is actually breaking my sense of humor.

to be fair, Nicieza's responsible for a lot more 90's crap than gets attributed to him. he really grew the beard when he started writing with Kurt Busiek.

He worries me. Abnett and Lanning made him a really cool villain in War of Kings, so I wouldn't mind if he came back under the right writers in the future. but those initial storied with him, yeesh, he was like Marvel's version of Superboy-Prime. not to mention what Brubaker tried doing to make Xavier look like a dick. Deadly Genesis was just horrible all around.

And he needs to die at the end of the issue. And then come back.

Red Skull times a thousand. I hated him since the 80's. Even then I was like really?? A Nazi? Really? I love Cap but the Skull seems like such a pointless motivationless easy villain. He's a nazi. You have to hate him. A Nazi. What's worse is when they tried to give him depth and it usually just came out as THE WORST NAZI EVER!!! It's like they downplay Hitler's accomplishments just to make Skull ultimate evil Nazi. Any of the standard go to bad guys; Joker, Magneto, Goblin, Luther can become so overused that they end up parodies of themselves, but at least they are not shackled to an archetyped ideal pretty much wiped out in the middle of the last century.

Actually throughout Gruenwald's run on Cap in the eighties when they brought the Skull back at around issue #350 and Brubaker's entire run of Cap since he took over, The Red Skull has been much less 'just a Nazi' than a villain who has adapted to the America of today and wants to topple it from the inside whether that be economically, politically, ideologically or whatever . He still has his Nazi/Aryan ideologies, but it hasn't been as cut and dry as 'he's a Nazi' since the mid eighties.

I dunno man, even under Brubaker he comes off as being kinda irrationally evil just because. then again, it's like we said, Cap doesn't have much of a rogues gallery so beggars cant be choosers.

Doc Ock and the Vulture for me......never really liked either of them very much. And yes, because of my Doctor Octopus hate.....I didn't think SPIDER-MAN 2 was the be all, end all of comic book/Spider-Man movies.

I'll give ya the Vulture, but I tend to think for the most part Ock is the best Spidey villain. Hell he was the archenemy for like fifteen years before than had Green Goblin kill Gwen.

I wonder how Ock feels about being bumped aside as Parker's arch? Must be a lot like how the Monarch felt when he was replaced by Sgt. Hatred.
