Brazil is through to the FIFA Beach World Cup final beating Portugal 8-2. I'm loving watching these games, seems like a fun thing to play. 2nd Semi coming up between Uruguay and Switzerland in a few minutes. The games are streaming on ESPN360.

Well that's our title challenge stunted. 1-0 loss to Sunderland who didn't want to play football. And we were denied a blatant penalty in injury time. We have to beat Chelsea next week to stay in it.

Sunderland....as much as it pains me to say it....have been very good against the top 4 teams this season. Chelsea gave them a bit of a hiding at Stamford Bridge but I'll predict a draw when they meet at SoL. They beat Liverpool, drew with Man U at Old Trafford (and were unlucky not to win) and now have beaten Arsenal.
They just seem to have a problem with motivation against smaller teams.
I still expect Chelsea to run away with it this year, though I REALLY hope Arsenal can mount a serious challenge.

WE WON AT HOME! Bloody hell that was like a cup final at the end, the most tense 5 minutes of stoppage time in ages.

We only went and beat the bloody Gunners! ;D I noticed. To be fair we apparently weren't much cop today, which goes with my theory that we struggle against the northern teams (except Newcastle last year but lets face it anybody could have beaten them ) Nice to see the Sunderland fans booing Gallas today apparently because he headed in the goal on Wednesday. I'm sorry but thats lame, boo Henry yes but Gallas was an inch out it was impossible for him to miss. And since when was Sunderland in Ireland? Anyway rant over. The old Arsenal turned up today unfortunately, I hope it doesn't happen again otherwise that will be it for our title challenge.

And I bet most fans of any club would be chuffed with a win over Arsenal, however it came about. I was expecting us to get stuffed, was a nice surprise. I've still got Arsenal for the title. If not this year, certainly next. The only theory I can offer on the Sunderland/Ireland thing is back from when Keane was in charge, and brought six hundred Irish players in. He was a hero here for a while, they might've taken it to heart. Or a lot of us are dickheads *shrug* I wasn't there

WE WON AT HOME! Bloody hell that was like a cup final at the end, the most tense 5 minutes of stoppage time in ages. Congrats. I'd been waiting and waiting for that to come, because honestly it seemed insanely bad for the home fans to not witness a home win since January. Unbelievable. My question now is, which team now has the longest run without a home win?

Wycombe have sealed their League One relegation by defeating Millwall at The Den
...because whenever Millwall shockingly have a long home unbeaten run broken aganst a team in the relegation zone, said team always gets relegated. It happens every.single.season.

Arsenal losing or struggling badly up north does seem to happen every season. I said at the start I didn't think Arsenal would last the pace at the top but it's only one defeat to a very good Sunderland team. Arsenal are still in a good position.

My big solace is that the three in contention have all had one embarrasing defeat - us to Sunderland, Chelsea to Wigan and United to Burnley. All the other losses they've had are more or less acceptable.

9-1. Good grief.
First time a team have scored 9 in the Premiership since 1995.
