I'm officially a Pope fan after tonight.
Was TNA successful with tonight?

I think they gained a few new viewers tonight based of Twitter and the thread here but, wait and see.

In terms of quality, absolutely. They've setup a very interesting trajectory for at least the next few weeks. I hope the ratings reflect the actual quality of the show.

There were some rough patches here and there, notable the useless Val/TBP segments, but honestly it was a tight show for a three hour show.

Yeah. I mostly watched Impact! over RAW, and I was more looking forward to Bret tonight.
TNA REALLY pulled out all the stops with the surprise guest stars, especially Jeff Hardy and Ric Flair. The thing now though is to see what they do with it.
Another version of the NWO is NOT the way to do that.

I've rooted for TNA in the past and tried to catch it whenever bored, but after tonight it's must-see TV for me.

I haven't enjoyed a wrestling show that much in a very long time, that's all I can say.
What turns up in the ratings? Who knows.

Totally awesome show that kept me from watching RAW all night. The Pope is awesome, The Knockouts kick ass, AJ/Kurt was the best TV match I've seen in YEARS, The nWo/Hulk/Bischoff angle with Sting in the rafters was SO much surreal I couldn't be happier...it was like I was watching WCW all over again, and that's actually a good thing.
Here's hoping that things continue...awesome matches, interesting seeds planted storyline wise, and something NEW for a change...

The Homicide cage mess up and the stupid Bubba the Love Sponge fan interviews that opened the show aside, I LOVED tonight. Great surprises, POPE interview/match, amazing main event, and a good ending with Foley/Hogan/nWo. I wanna see where this "everyone is riding the Hogan gravy train" angle is going. Cause Hogan doesnt seem too thrilled with those people being around.

Ric Flair was a shock/special guest? Oook.
TNA did really well tonight but Hogan totally overhyped what could be actually pulled off. Great suprises and what not but what happened was TNA did the best they could with what they have, sadly (in terms of the Monday Night "War") that isn't quite as much as what was hyped.

Most of the matches were too short for my taste. The main event was awesome! The ending scared me. TNA does not need to rehash the nWo. The last version of the nWo died in 2002. TNA needs to let go of old successful angles because just because a particular angle was successful 14 years ago means squat today.
As for the successful of TNA I said yes, but wait and see.

The fact that their first match was so awful and I could see it turning so many people off if it was their first time watching TNA...
The fact that every single thing they did was based on the past, that the only new star the show focused on was AJ..
And yet, from my point of view, it was incredibly entertaining.
I don't know. I put "Yes" because I enjoyed it, but wait and see. I'm not convinced that wrestling fans are going to buy into this.

Somethings were good, some were bad.
The cage match really got messed up, but it seems that they maybe going somewhere with it. I think what TNA wanted was to get Homicide over as a heel. What they should have done was have Homicide beat everybody down, not call the match, and well, maybe Homicide was just working that he couldn't get up the cage.
I think that was it. Then, the Jeff Hardy thing really shocked me, because I felt that Jeff would be there and Shannon Moore would show up, but I never expected to hear "Modest" back in the Impact Zone. What I'm thinking is going to come from that is, Shannon Moore signs with TNA immediately. He has a match on Impact, goes over, and then Homicide jumps him (if he brings out the ghetto fork and stabs Moore, it would be awesome too) and tells Moore to give that fruity haired gringo a message that Homicide is looking for him.
I think TNA TRIED to get Homicide over as a heel, and it may've looked good on paper. But that was the biggest screw up of the night.
