-Jim Ross' contract is up at the end of the month. Word is that neither side in interested in signing a new long-term deal. It appears as if Ross will work on a week-to-week deal until he is ready to leave or WWE decides it is time to replace him again.

I wonder if WWE realizies they have no one to replace him with again. Zombie Josh Mathews is the top option if they're going to try to 'promote from within' again.
Anyhow, if he's really leaving for good this time, I'm conflicted. His recent work has been really really annoying, but it is still far better than the prospect of Todd Grisham calling Monday Nights.

Here's the thing: JR wont be around forever. Therefore sooner or later someone needs to get a shot anyway. JR's fall from grace reminds me of Tony Schiavone's fall from a great play by play man, to sad and pathetic shill. I'd consider bringing in Scott Hudson and giving him a tryout |

I'd actual be curious to see if WWE would try and sign "The Master of Hyberbole" himself, Tony Schiavone. I never thought he was a terrible play-by-play guy, he just was fed some bad lines during the NWO run that made him sound like a goof. I dunno who should be his color guy though, Lawler stinks.
