That's precisely WHY I dislike her. She's following Bowie's career pattern. And it's bad enough to be so blatant about it that, but she follows it up with lousy pop garbage. At least Bowie was a provocative musical artist who just so happened to be weird-looking. Gaga is shock value for the sake of it. Jed Shaffer ~She's a musical Howard Stern. All sizzle, no steak. See I can't buy that, Bowie knew exactly what he was doing with the image the same way KISS & Alice Cooper did. They knew that the image would get them attention along with the music, they didn't think that nobody would notice the weird getups. That's not to take away from any of the mentioned artist's talent, but I don't think they just so happened to look weird, it was all intentional to increase curiousity and marketability. So maybe she is in a way following what Bowie is doing, but she is in no way the first to take the theatrical approach to music. Exactly. Either that, or Liberace was somehow retroactively riding coattails. Flair and showmanship are as new in music as instruments.

Love her music, but hate her character or whatever. It just screams attention to me.

Weird verses, poppy, run of the mill choruses. Blah in my opinion.

I enjoy her music, got taken to see her live by a friend and she suprised me.
If she wants to dress up with Kermit the frog inside out then thats fine, I'm solely interested in the music, which I like.

Good recording voice as far as I can tell (I'm no expert), so I can understand people liking her stuff.

I'm liking everyone's open honestly about this topic. It seems as for a while Lady Gaga has become a bit of a taboo subject for some people

She kind of reminds me of 80s pop music (i can see bad romance or just dance fitting into radio playlists around 83-84 seemlessly). Dont know if i'd buy an album, but i do like to hear her songs on the radio.

Lady Gaga + Swedish Metallers Meshuggah = Meshuggaga! According to the guy who put it together, there's no editing of time, and it actually flows together. That must mean Gaga is required to do this live with Meshuggah.
