Like I said, if it had been Saints/Bears, and the Bears won, there would be much less talk about them being pretenders.
I think it's going to be a great, close game. I love the rivalry and it seems to be built on respect. Correct me if I'm wrong, I don't live in Wisconsin or Illinois, but it seems like even the fans like meeting up in a friendly way even, based on respect.
May be I'm completely miss-informed and it's just as bad as Yankees, Red Socks, it's just what I've seen.

Everyone seems so sure of that NFC game... I'm not the Packers are so beat up that I fully expected them to lose to Vick and the Eagles then they faced the Falcons and once again I expected them to lose for the same reason and Matt Ryan's impressive record at home this Sunday.....it can go either way and I expect it to be a close game

He's not an NFL fan, it was 3am in England. I just had to tell some one. I had as much doubt as you Bob. It's something like 20 starters (at the start of the season) that are injured reserved, even in the win or go home against the Giants.

Everyone seems so sure of that NFC game... Meanwhile, I'm sure the Bears team will use the lack of respect from the media as motivation, and consider themselves "underdogs" all the while in Green Bay, they have talked about them being the underdogs, being the #6 seed having to go on the road vs the higher seeds. Neither team will be lacking in motivation, both will be playing the "we are the underdog" role should be a good game I don't think you can have two underdogs in the same game. It destroys the space/time continuum. The world will explode on Sunday. Thanks a lot, NFL

Most of my friends are Packers fans and other than giving each other shit during games it's not a hatred thing like Yankees/Sox. I've been to Bears/Packers games at Solder Field and at least in my section the Packers fans were treated good. I've heard the same by and large about Bears fans at Lambau Field.

YEah, the rivalry is more built off respect for one another. These are 2 of the most storied and winningest franchises in NFL history The Vikings are another story, though. Thats a team I just hate

I think the most hate filled rivalries in the NFL are the Ravens/Steelers or the Giants/Eagles/Cowboys trifecta of hate.
I like 3 of the teams in the NFC North. Da Bears and the Packers are both class act teams and I really like the way they play football. And the Lions I sorta like as a scrappy underdog team. Hate the Vikings, though. Even before Favre I just never really liked them and I'm at a loss as to why.

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports the Panthers have hired former Eagles DC Sean McDermott for the same position in Carolina. I like it. I didn't really think he deserved to be fired in Philly, but what do I know. McDermott was tossed into a difficult situation. He had to coach Jim Johnson's defense on short notice, and was never allowed to really change things or run the Eagles D the way he may have preferred to. On top of that, the Eagles haven't had the personnel or the health necessary to run the kind of defense they like. He got scapegoated.

But what's really astonishing is all the injuries they've suffered and they still have been in every game this season.

Looks like we'll either keep Wink or go get Jim Mora Jr.

I agree that it's the smart pick, but totally sounds like a PR move. I think the wheels are starting to turn in motion for that rumor.
