I'm putting money on Deadpool banging Sue Richards while Reed is trying to fix Ben. Hah, while that would be awesome, I've got a better question. From the first few issues of FF, am I the only one that gets a SERIOUSLY flirty vibe going between Sue Richards and Spider-Man? I doubt you're the only one. In an issue of UNTOLD TALES OF SPIDER-MAN (which were set at the time of Spidey's earliest adventures, even if they were written in 96 by Kurt Busiek), Spidey and Sue actually wound up going on a date.

Again, I'm having a discussion about getting people to read comics on Twitter, and I suggested handing out free comics during screenings of comic movies, so that the audience can get introduced even more to the character, and could get more info on where to purchase more of the given character's adventures.
Thoughts?

That's a decent idea.
To tie in with the release of First Class, Fox had an X-men origins comic printed up and given out, unfortunately it was piss poor quality, smaller than average and totally confusing in regards it didnt tie into the film at all.

Thoughts? 'Comics are for kids' is still the prevailing notion when it comes to comics I think. I just had a conversation the other day about how comics have a lot of real world parallels (X-Men/Civil Rights Movement) and how a lot of writers use larger than life characters to create a story about something very personal to them. This person saw me reading "Hack Slash" and asked me why I still read comics. It also doesn't help that comics like X-Men, FF, Avengers, Batman, etc are so deep into their own history that starting up fresh would them would be next to impossible. That and the rampart misogyny in a lot of comics too. Your best bet would be to find some off-beat comics that don't feature spandex'd up superheroes as that puts a lot of people off.

When Beowulf was released they handed out a comic book version at the theater I saw it at. When I asked for one I was told that comics were for kids. You know all the kids lined up to see a PG-13 movie based on an eighth century poem. I told them I paid and wanted one, there was a huge stack there and maybe 5 kids in the theater. The kid working the door gave me one with a sneer.

You have no idea how much of a fuss I would have kicked up at that point. I wouldn't have just made a scene, I'd have given them the whole damn play.
That kid would have, at the very least, been publically repremanded and I would have got some vouchers or free super pricey theatre food.

I've given out some kid friendly comics instead of candy on Halloween before. Don't know if it led to any kids actually becoming fans.

I remember going to see the first X-MEN movie, and at the theater they handed out comic books to everyone in attendance, courtesy of a local Comic Book Store. My 3 friends didn't want their comics, so they gave them to me. What I got? A random issue of Wolverine, a random issue of Maverick, and issues 2 and 3 of X-Men 2099.

I'm assuming Loki saves the day, but probably also does something behind the scenes to set up him aging and turning proper heel again I'm actually hoping that doesn't happen. Might be because I was such a fan of the Loki mini awhile back and hoped he would suceed and Earth X but I'd rather see them continue on with a less villianous Loki.

Any nice points to jump ahead to and instead come back to early issues later? Jump up to the zany, awesome Silver Age stuff. Its cheapest to pick up the Superman Showcase editions. Everyone see the Ultimate Spider-Man spoilers marvel gave to google to post today?

I'll wait till it comes out but... why are all the comics I like changing for no apparent reason!

- Tim Drake's redesign is bugging me, I don't like the Black Condor wings. - Zataana's just makes me say "why?", Her costume made sense and was awesome. - I hope that's just an Idea for Connor, That stuck on S logo is horrid

Zatanna is hilarious, she's a B list hero and kind of needs her costume to stand out, looks so generic. It's like updating Shocker in Marvel to not wear his pin-cushion quilt costume.
Rest look fine really, except Poison Ivy but I put that down to the artist not the costume.

Harley is far and away the worst redesign. nothing else is even in contention. she's supposed to be fun and whimsical, and they made her all psycho mid-nineties suicide girl wannabe.

Harley's costume design could work, but only if they really change up her character. If there's decent justification for the change - I can tolerate it because the art itself looks pretty good.
The same can't be said for the red robin/wonderboy stuff. Ugh.
I liked the Superman in jeans and robo-superboy pics though, interesting changes that could work. I don't expect much out of DC though.

I'm pretty sure the "Superman in Jeans" thing is just supposed to be his "low budget really new at this" costume that's only going to appear at the beginning of the story arc it appears in. his Jim Lee redesign incorporates body armor (why? he's SUPERMAN!).

I find it hilarious that Spiderman's death is being presented in the various news reports that are reporting it as if THE Spiderman has died, rather than the crappy Ultimate universe's version (which, admitedly, was the only Ultimate book worth reading).
As for the re-designs, well, Jim Lee hasn't done anything decent since the 90s, nor have most of the other guys handling the high profile new stuff. That says a lot.

...oddly enough, the new Harley doesn't bug me as much as it should. It does bug me, but... I dunno, I think it could be worse. I was fine with it until I noticed the pigtails. They're in the full picture, but got cropped out at that site you linked to. I don't know why they bug me. They just do.

I still say that this is gonna flop really bad and Marvel just threw out a golden goose for no good reason. you can stick a fork in the Ultimate-verse, it''s done.
