I wasn't a big WM27 fan. It's not WrestleCrap worthy, though I still ended up paying $60 dollars for a show that was essentially used as build-up for next year's show.

I can see inducting Cole vs. Lawler, but WM 27 has a whole? I think that's a bit of an overreaction.

I can think about so many more worse PPVs than Wrestlemania that could've inducted on Wrestlecrap. I like what they usually do but sometimes, their inductions are so ridiculous.

Wait a minute, Wrestlecrap's inducting a wrestling PPV from early 2011... and its not Victory Road? Oh, I'm sure that they will get to that. It's Wrestlemania weekend, so they are doing Wrestlemania-related inductions.

It's not like we have to agree with EVERY inductee.

The only two things I can complain about this show is Bryan/Sheamus getting bumped and that tag match being as short as it was ... oh and the Cole/Lawler match being as LONG as it was. So three things. Other than that, the backstage segments weren't horrible, and the other matches were anywhere from very good to great. Even the Snookie match wasn't horrible, she was barely in it and unbelievably surprised me with that cartwheel elbow. Why the entire PPV is inducted baffles me.

The writing in that induction is not very good at all. That's coming from the writer/journalist side of me, though.
If the dude who wrote that (never heard of him before although I haven't been keeping up with WC lately, and it's apparently his first post so it's sorta understandable) is on these forums then all apologies, but jeez the writing in there is kind of brutal to get through. He just seems way, WAY too eager to be "funny" and "clever" as well as trying to cover EVERYTHING. Not to mention he keeps describing matches as "really good". It's a pretty weak induction, especially since the show wasn't THAT bad (Bad? Yes. Historically or even interestingly bad? No.)
Just some criticism.

In my social circle I'm the only hardcore wrestling fan in the bunch. A lot of my friends used to follow it closely but now take interest when something like the Rock's return happens and I felt like this show could have been the big show that brings everyone back in for the long haul and it ended up making me feel like that guy who brings a wet blanket of a friend over to a party that just kills the atmosphere and ruins it for everyone. I felt like I had to apologize for WWE being such an awful guest to the party.
That American Idol segment was just death. Such a cringer.

Saw it last year.
It deserves an induction.
Awful, awful show.

I felt like I had to apologize for WWE being such an awful guest to the party. That American Idol segment was just death. Such a cringer. I was in a similar scenario and yes, the event was absolutely awful. Worse, it felt like the type of event non-fans specifically tune in to see every time they watch wrestling. I'll also agree that it's worse than XI. At least XI had a pleasing looking aesthetic. Plus, it had Bam Bam Bigelow barking at Salt n Pepa. At Mania 27 the only things I liked were Pee-Wee Herman's cameo, The Rock saying "divasaurus," Ryder singing "Friday," Rhodes-Mysterio and Punk-Orton. There's 10 absolutely breath-taking incredible minutes in that Triple H-Undertaker match that's unfortunately marred by the 20 unwatchably plodding minutes of that Triple H-Undertaker match. I'm about to read the review now and I'm pretty surprised RD would give such a milestone and potentially controversial induction to a first-timer.

yeah it was pretty bad. I dont know if i would go as far as to call it wrestlecrap, but if there is a level right above that, wrestle-really bad gas then it would fit in there.

Just read the piece...
The biggest Wrestlecrap-worthy mistake the article missed:
Edge destroying Del Rio's car. This made absolutely no sense whatsoever and just made the face look like a dick. Completely pointless and far less justifiable to have on the show considering the bitching about the cutting of Sheamus-Bryan.
Not a fan of this write-up, the author actually made the show seem better than it was. I can't believe his missed the fact that the entire night was entirely inconsequential to the WWE universe. Business on Monday was the exact same as it was the Friday before.
And the Pee-Wee segment was as good as Wrestlemania segments get. He was a hot property again, having come right off the heels of a wildly successful Broadway show and HBO special for a segment that (and this is a rarity for these Mania bits) ACTUALLY PUSHED THE CENA-ROCK STORY FORWARD.
Snooki deserved her match as well. The entertainment is what makes it the sports-entertainment spectacle for the ages.
While I did like the matches I liked in my previous post, I don't think any of them really kicked it into Wrestlemania gear. Not saying I wanted a spotfest, but the whole timing and vibe of the event seemed off. Basically, the best matches were a night of Edge-Jerichos.
And, like I said, a good chuck of that Triple H-Undertaker match DID NOT need to happen. The stuff in it that I loved I indeed loved, but so much of that match was like watching a Macy's Thanksgiving Parade balloon being deflated.
Anyone know the best way to get into RD's ear about writing an induction?

I don't read Wrestlecrap anymore, but I'm pretty sure from reading a few paragraphs of that induction that they didn't have many other ideas that day. 27 did suck, though.

I don't think it's the worse Wrestlemania, but it still wasn't a good show. What was with the backstage stuff?

Edge destroying Del Rio's car. This made absolutely no sense whatsoever and just made the face look like a dick. That was Edge's last face run in a nutshell. the kidnapping Paul Bearer storyline was so heelish.

This thread is about Money in the Bank? Odd. Triple H vs Undertaker >> Punk vs Cena Smackdown Elimination Chamber > both of them

Although I actively disliked Trips/Taker and Miz/Cena, WM XXVII was not Wrestlecrap material. It had Edge/AdR, Rey/Cody and Orton/Punk, which is not enough to make it a good or even decent Mania, but it sure as hell is not Gooker-worthy.
