I really like Sheamus, but the booking involved is atrocious. The thing is that Bryan will be fine because he is really over and the E can only ignore that for so long, whereas it looks as if Sheamus is going to go into a dead end feud with Alberto that hardly anyone will care about because Alberto is always boring and Sheamus's current character is non existent.
It's just unfortunate booking on the E's part.

With how idiotically booked the match was at 'Mania, they're in a "Damned if you do, damned if you don't situation" with Sheamus.
Have his next PPV defense be against Bryan and it's almost guaranteed the fans would side with Bryan and completely turn on Sheamus. Or have his first defense be against ADR and no one will care because Del Rio is a static black hole of giving a damn.
I also hate the idea of a double turn, mainly for Bryan's sake. I can deal with Sheamus turning heel although I actually do like his face work (*gasp!*), but Bryan turning face makes no sense. That and his heel character is way too much fun right now.
And to think this could have all been avoided if Sheamus won the match in a properly competitive match instead of treating one of your top two titles as a complete joke.

My problem with Sheamus is the WWE's weird need for every face to be a smartass and be "funny". Some people just can't do it, like Sheamus. Why couldn't he be an badass without stupid things that awful Hornswoggle battle royal crap a few months back. I like Sheamus but can't stand how they cut his balls off so he can pander to fans. Agreed, I like Sheamus a lot, but this character he's been given doesn't suit him a bit. Separate point, can we stop with the 'internet boy/indy darling' silliness when it comes to Daniel Bryan? If some don't like him that's fine, but when the majority of the audience on multiple occasions are chanting for him, he's pass the whole erroneous, derisive, 'indy darling' label. To deny that is just goofy.

No, not at all. People aren't pissed Sheamus won, they are pissed Bryan lost in 18 seconds. No one could have been on the other end of that and come out fine. If Sheamus/Bryan had gone 10-15 minutes with Sheamus winning this would all be a non-issue. Though to be fair, Sheamus has been booked like crap long before his match with Bryan. Even without the 18 second match happening, if the WWE refused to alter his character I think it was only a matter of time before fans got tired of Sheamus' shtick Yeah given the Cena route they were taking it would have happened eventually but I don't think it would have happened this fast and we wouldn't have seen Bryan go from a solid heel reaction to a near mega face reaction if not for what happened at Mania.

The next PPV is a Chicago crowed. One of the top 5 "smarkie" crowds in the world. Not to mention it's ROH's backyard, and D-Bry was loved their. Sheamus has no chance. That crowed will eat him up, and spit him out.

You know what? They should keep using it, at least until the fans get the message. I'm sick of the heel getting cheered. Sheamus is the face in this feud, despite what some fans think. The internet boy lost, get over it. Lost? Lets see how Extreme Rules goes before we declare winners

I'm wondering if had someone else pinned Bryan in 18 seconds, they would get the same treatment.

thing is i feel bad for sheamus because unlike cena, i doubt the smarks really dislike him. its just the mania squash that caused the backlash imo. if sheamus beat bryan in an actual match, like 90% of the world expected, i don't think it would be as bad. this is bookings' fault and after how bad they cheated the crowd at mania, they deserve it

Wonderful how some people resort to saying that Sheamus can't wrestle well again after all of this. Yeah, he has no talent and is only where he is because he hangs with Triple H. I thought this complaint went out of style 2 years ago.

If they want to pretend it's Sheamus to try and save face, that's their weakness, but both they and the fans know who's really being booed.

He was in the wrong spot at the wrong event with the wrong opponent in the wrong match. He won the wrong match in the wrong time he got the wrong reaction that they dubbed until it sounded right.
In b4 Edge! If you think I'm referring to Edge's promo, you're WRONG!

I love Sheamus, and yes, I feel bad for him too. His initial face run was awesome, but since his feud with Mark Henry ended, he's become the new Kane; need an imposing face to shut up a heel in a random squash match? Send out Sheamus! He's become pretty boring, which is sad considering how he started out. Now he's stuck in this clusterf*** of a situation all because WWE didn't want to book a competitive World title match at Wrestlemania.

I feel really bad for Sheamus here. if anything, squashing D-bry in 18 second hurt him more than a loss would have.

The internet boy lost, get over it. that has to be one of the most counter-productive things I've ever heard. wrestling as a business, more than any other in the entertainment industry, lives and dies based on how the crowd reacts to something. just ask Rocky Maivia or John Cena how well being forced down the fans throats when they hate you worked out for them.

I'm wondering if had someone else pinned Bryan in 18 seconds, they would get the same treatment. they would have. it's irrelevant who beats him. whoever beats D-bry like that gets the same treatment Sheamus did. people are mad not because they don't like Sheamus (who was pretty over before the match) nor are they mad about Daniel Bryan losing, they're mad that the supposed face got a crap build and beat the very popular heel champion in 18 seconds in an incredibly cheap way that made them both look like chumps. since Sheamus was the guy who won the match, and he was the less over of the 2, he's the one that gets dumped on.

Punishing your customers for liking one of your products more than another one is a great way to go out of business. Who the heck cares which product the customers prefer, as long as they're giving you their money? By all means, ride the wave of the thing they like until they don't like it anymore.

When they initially tried to cover it up or kept making Cena more and more invincible while making Angle cartoonishly evil, it was a complete disaster.
