It won't be Mandarin from Huff Post. I didn't read Extremis so I don't know the villains or if there is villains there. Is there a character in it he can possibly play?

I hope we get Sexy Beast Ben Kingsley and not Uwe Boll Ben Kingsley.

They better not do like the comic and change things up so that Tony hides the armor in his bones or whatever because he's infected with the Extremis virus. I thought giving Stark powers beyond what the suit did for him went against the character.

New origin story = bad. New Iron Man movie = good! They aren't going to change his origin story in the movie. The origin in the Extremis storyline is the one they used in the first Iron Man movie.

Oh man, no Mandarin? Damn that sucks. That's one of the downsides of Jon leaving because he flat out said he was going to bring the Mandarin for the third film. I wonder if they're going to save him for the Avengers sequel then?

Mandarin would be pretty tricky. You could do a Fin Fang Foom origin like the crappy cartoon did to some effect, but good luck bringing the "Yellow Peril" version to the screen without earning every bit of bad press that'd get.
My buddy really liked the Extremis arc, so I'll have to ask him how this would go, though I recall the armor being really slick.

I remember when Jon was attached to Iron Man 3 he said he was going to bring in the Mandarin. He stated he already had a storyline in place, the villain picked, and that he wanted to get a little darker with the Iron Man mythology. And since when did Hollywood get so politically correct?

Since they realized having a much better chance at selling your movie to more than a billion people was smarter than not doing that.

I think you could do Mandarin without the Yellow Peril thing.
Just make him the Chinese Tony Stark in a way; except more ruthless, adding the rings, maybe with a mystical element instead of the alien thing.
I hope they don't make the Extremis thing part of his body like in the books, never liked that.

Am I the ONLY dude in existence who liked the idea of the Extremis armor? I know yeah yeah, it kinda goes against what he is, but at the same time, Stark is all about the new era of cutting edge technology. Nanomachinery is the future. It kinda makes sense to adapt to the situation and the times.
