Screw Extremis, after the Avengers movie, bust out the Hulk Buster armor! Oh god yes, that would be awesome.

Am I the ONLY dude in existence who liked the idea of the Extremis armor? I know yeah yeah, it kinda goes against what he is, but at the same time, Stark is all about the new era of cutting edge technology. Nanomachinery is the future. It kinda makes sense to adapt to the situation and the times. I like it to a degree. The original Extremis tech was cool and fit the character, however his current Bleeding Edge armor is just ridiculous. He's basically a cyborg at this point. I dig that one too

Ugh, nanotech. It makes for such a boring story. Now Tony Stark can basically create whatever he wants, whenever he wants to combat an enemy. ooooh, what drama....

So if Disney's gonna be producing this film with a Chinese company where does that leave Marvel Studios?

Honestly I do not see what the big issue is about The Mandarin. In his original incarnation yes, the character was a "racist charicature" as Shane Black said it. But he has not been portrayed in that light in well over thirty years now. John Favreau even said he intended to re-imagine the character to "incorporate the whole pantheon of villains." I.e. the Mandarin is not an evil Chinese commie, but rather he is a villain bent on world domination who just so happens to be Chinese. And anymore he is portrayed more as Mongolian than Chinese anyway, so what is the big freaking deal?

And thanks to the Avengers Marvel has increased the budget of Iron Man 3 from $140 million to $200 million.

I am not sure how different that is than what he did anyway. He lifts his arm and always has something convenient to shoot out of it. That has been his MO since... ever.

So, any ideas on what role Ben Kingsley will play? If this is supposed to be about the Extremis thing, I'm guessing Mallen is the villain, but ol' Ben doesn't look much like him. Perhaps a secondary villain?

The only villain Ben Kingsley should be playing is The Vulture.

At the end of the day you've got a picture being partly produced by a Chinese company, filming in China, who's going to take the chance of trying to sell them a flick where the Americans hand possibly the only notable Chinese character his ass?

Y'know, I really don't have high hopes for this movie. Think Iron Man 2's the weakest of the Avengers movies as it is - still alright, but not the best - and an inexperienced director probably won't be helping much.

Shane Black has the same amount of experience that Joss Whedon had before he got The Avenger's directing gig - more or less. So I doubt that will be a problem.

Oooo, don't know how I feel about that. I liked the War Machine armor fine the way it was. I wanted Mandarin because it would have given us a movie villain for Tony that wasn't in armor or a machine. Technology vs. Magic would have been awesome. Yeah, I was really looking forward to that, but it's a tough sell. IM has established a fairly realistic feeling to it, even with the events of Avengers softening the blow with aliens. It would have been very cool, either way. I guess that Kingsley will be connected to the 10 Rings terrorist organization from the first movie.

can't say I'm surprised. as much as Bendis tried, Norman Osborne's never going to be anything other than a Spider-man villain (and that's how it should be IMO).

Pretty odd for War Machine to be sporting the Stars & Stripes, but I suppose it'll make for a good action figure to sell.

I guess in-context, it's probably for some ridiculous PR thing which he probably will dislike. Out-context, a nod to comic book fans.
