Isn't it at least plausible that she's not on television because she's not that good? It's exactly why she isn't on TV.

Isn't it at least plausible that she's not on television because she's not that good? It would be if it weren't for the fact the women they feature week in week out (Kelly, the Bella's) aren't any better than her at this point. I'd legitimately say she's better in the ring than them right now.

Yeah, McCool was the centre of every Diva angle on Smackdown for like three years whether she had the title or not. Beth has gone weeks between TV appearences despite being champion. They're in no way comparable. Beth, like Mickie Before her, has gotten multiple pushes for months on end. People only seem to harp on the lull periods. I call the this the AJ styles syndrome. Guy's been there forever, pushed to the moon every couple of months, and people keep saying that he's being held down. I never said she was held down, just that she's not "the most pushed Diva since McCool" which was the original claim. And for the record, throwing the title on someone but still treating them as an afterthought does not equal a push.

I may be a bit biased, because I think Kaitlyn is gorgeous, but I would have thought she is clearly muscular rather than overweight. It's a little shocking that anyone could see anything else. But I guess this is WWE. As much as I love it it's a strange, strange place.

Guy's been there forever, pushed to the moon every couple of months, and people keep saying that he's being held down. It's a fitting comparison, but not in the way you think. AJ is, and a lot of people agree with me here, the face of TNA. He deserves a hell of a lot more than being "pushed to the moon every couple of months," the guy should be the damn Shawn Michaels of the company; the number one face, the guy you send to do promotional business, all that stuff. Yeah, Beth and Mickie get titles and such, but they both deserve so much more. Mickie could have been the number one face in the Divas division, as could Natalya had they put the effort behind it. Instead, the mindset seems to be "eh, give the chicks something to do so they have a reason for being paid," thus the "your turn for the title" mentality, or worse yet, making the prettiest girl in the room the de-facto face for months at a time. On the original topic, though, I don't buy her not being on TV because she's not good in ring. For one, she's gotten a hell of a lot better since her first match on NXT; anyone's who's regularly watched WWE programming could tell you that. Even if she doesn't have SDR-type handles, is she really any worse than, say, Kelly Kelly or the Bellas? As for her mic skills, it's not exactly like they let the Divas on the mic anyway, and from what I remember from NXT, she isn't exactly bad. All that really leaves, barring some kind of backstage heatz we don't know about, is that they don't think she's pretty enough or whatever; aka, the "she doesn't look like a Playboy centerfold" thing that they said about Sexy Star last year.

Kaitlyn was sent back to NXT because she was green. She only got called up in the first place because of Aloisa getting fired. Mind you, this was with her having only been on the NXT roster for about two weeks. As I recall, her first official match with the company was the one with Maxine on live television. Isn't it at least plausible that she's not on television because she's not that good? No, she wrestled on at least one or two FCW house shows before she wrestled week 2 of NXT, which was a tag match against AJ and Primo. Kaitlyn had a few matches before the debacle that was the Maxine match. Kaitlyn's gotten better but I think she falls under the category of "overrated based on hottness" like Maxine is.

Because she has no ring talent.

Because she has no ring talent. That applies to like 75% of the Divas roster.

She does have ring talent. It's just that you don't see it unless you habitually watch NXT.

They already have a Diva with thickness. Unfortunately theres no room for Kaitlyn while Vickie remains the top cougar in WWE.

Kaitlyn aint even a cougar, and many people consider her build extremely hot.
And she has a good look at least -_-

Kaitlyn just isn't very good yet. And if you're not very good the only thing that will save you is if you are over which she isn't really.
And I don't even agree with the "well she's at least better than Kelly or the Bellas” mindset. Maxine vs. Kelly this week on Superstars, for instance, was a better match to me and had a far hotter crowd than any Maxine vs. Kaitlyn match ever. And trust me, I've seen a lot of Maxine-Kaitlyn matches. They seem to wrestle every other week on NXT. Rosa and Aksana are the only divas I would say Kaitlyn at this point is definitively "better" than.
I like Kaitlyn and think she's working hard to improve but she has no business getting any kind of push on any of the real shows at this point. NXT is the perfect place for her right now.

Right. "Vince wasn't happy with her weight". Vince probably doesn't even know who she is...

I'd agree that Kaitlyn isn't all that in the ring, yet. But 'yet' is the operative word. When you think that her first matches on NXT were pretty much her very first matches EVER it's fair to say she has improved pretty quickly. And under a fair bit of pressure. She is already decent in the ring and has shown flashes of genuine talent in my opinion. I wouldn't say she is better than Kelly Kelly or the Bellas but that, to me, isn't as big a criticism as it sounds. Kelly and the Bellas aren't nearly as bad as people make out in my opinion. Kelly, especially, when given time and a decent opponent more than does herself proud I think. Yes she has her flaws, but they aren't as horrific as they are made out.
But, back to Kaitlyn, I think given time she could be a massive deal for WWE. If they give her time to develop as a wrestler she has everything you could ask for in a 'Diva'. She already has a great look and the personality.

Maybe it's because she's is still green. I'm not going to deny that she's has been tightening her body ever since she got called to the main roster but sometimes it's not as cut and dry as we want it to be.

Something else to consider is that she said herself a while back that she had to change her diet etc to adapt to WWE life, which according to all sources demands something extra from people.
Could be that it wasn't as spiteful from WWE as it sounds and more about them just making sure she was in good shape, or 'WWE' shape. Not everything is as simple as 'fat' or 'thin'.

I'm honestly surprised people are trying to push the "no it can't be because of something incredibly petty and stupid like that, it HAS to be because she's not any good" line of thinking despite the years and years of evidence as to what kind of woman WWE likes (hint: more Sable and Torrie Wilson). They've called friggin' Maria up and told her to lose weight. They've told Rosa to lose weight then gave her a gimmick where she became a fitness nut after LayCool made fun of her. They've done two seperate feuds that involved women who are in no way fat being made fun of for being fat and both women lost those feuds.
Being good or crap or whatever has no bearing on whether or not you're actually on TV. Kelly Kelly is quite possibly the worst wrestler WWE has ever had yet it's never stopped them from putting her on TV. The Bellas are terrible and yet one of them is the champ. Alicia Fox, Tamina, Sable... even the much heralded Trish Stratus was still a pretty sub-par wrestler. With the women it doesn't matter whether you're good or bad, only how hot Vince and Kevin Dunn think you are. So yes, I believe 100% that Kaitlyn's push being stopped and her being exiled to NXT has everything to do with the completely bizarre body standards and what constitutes "attractive" in WWE Land and not because they suddenly realized that she's not good.

Yep. I remember Meltzer even reported that in '06 Trish was brought into the office and told "they were going in a different direction with the divas". If Trish Stratus gets told that--the company's priority is not what woman can work/wrestle. If it were, Natalya would be a 3x champion by now and face of the division. It's looks. If you don't think it's appearance-based, then why on earth is Aksana, a worse wrestler than Kaitlyn on television every week in backstage segments or sometimes getting a match? Why was Naomi kept out of the ring away from wrestling and then made a dancer for Funkasaurus? Why did they sign Cameron, who was terrible in the ring? Looks. That's what they value most in the divas and have for years. Telling Trish they were going in a different direction? Telling Maria to lose weight? Making fun of fit women for being fat? Come on. It's WWE. This is business as usual.

When Kaitlyn started off on NXT in late 2010 even she admitted in a blog she wrote that she wasn't in great shape, she's actually looking pretty toned in her recent apperances.

I'm not surprised that she doesn't get a push because of her weight. At first glance of her, I knew WWE would have issues with her weight, since she's not too far off from Nattie and Beth. The question is, why did they bother hiring her then?
