If there were plenty of bulls*** laws in Canada I would definitely stand up against them. This is a bit of an extreme example, but what about Rosa Parks. She rode on the bus where a white person should sit and got arrested for it. Am I xenophobic for saying that law was bulls***? And brought by a Brazillian, to them it was entertainment, boo that heel, but the bulls*** law was almost enforced and Jericho was forced to apologize. What about Martin Luther King Jr, going to jail for violating unjust laws. The freedom riders, black and white students standing up against the bulls*** laws of segregation. Should he have apologized to the white cops wanting to throw him in an Alabama jail? Is it ok to stone women who got raped because that's the punishment for an unjust law. f*** unjust laws and this is one of them. Going to jail for kicking a flag, the fact people accept this blows my mind. Jericho did it first.

So, basically the crowd didn't give a shit, so it was the Finlay thing all over again. LOL. If it was me, I just wouldn't run in the market again, but the WWE is obsessed with touring overseas.

Same thing as Finlay, someone got overzealous. Funny thing is that you KNOW this is a planned spot, wouldn't be surprised if it was going to happen on every show.... so, why aren't Punk and the agent suspended for 30 days too? If it was a planned spot, and I was Jericho, I'd just quit. Not like this run is going anywhere anyway.

Quitting over something like this would be incredibly stupid. He gets a 30 day vacation. He can come back and pick up where he left off.

Isn't he playing Download festival in like a week or two anyway, and if he's playing download I assume he'll be in Europe for a few more festivals, so he was going to leave around now anyway.
I actually smell work, they would have posted it on WWE Corp website if it was a shoot.

Yeah, I don't see how this is a work. Unless you're suggesting that WWE incurred bad PR at best and, at worst, risked a performer serving time in a foreign jail just to write out said performer. Yeah, I don't think so somehow.

Alright, the political and religious activism ends now. You want to talk about Jericho being gone 30 days, fine. Want to talk about WWE being too reactionary or not, fine. Good heat or bad heat, fine. This wannabe activism isn't. Curses. I'll have to do the PM deal. I guess this will once again be a bad time to ask reconsider the politics/religion rule? Probably .

Yeah, I don't think so somehow. It's a work because who outside of Brazil would've heard of this if the WWE didn't make it front page news(z) and publicly suspend Y2J for 30-days, in the process removing him from the NWO ppv as well? Especially considering that in the U.S., desecrating the flag is clearly protected by the 1st Amendment and this being an election year (sorry to go into politics but there is a point I promise) it's hard to resolve an American company punishing a Canadian for not following Brazilian law... ..unless it's all a work. Again, everybody is talking about Jericho right now. Before, they were all saying how ineffectual his return has been since 'Mania. So if this hypothetically was a work designed to get Jericho 'hot' again, mission accomplished. If it's not a work, they must've realized that bad publicity is still free publicity and gave the 30 day suspension as a way to harness this into a work, IMO. Mission still accomplished.

I feel for Jericho. Between the people wanting him gone (and also wanting him back while he's gone) to things like this where people can't distinguish acting from real life, it has to be depressing for the guy.

Flag-kicking should be Jericho's new gimmick. He could be the next great foreign militant character, hailing from the country of Askhimstan and carrying a flag made out of blinking LEDs.

*skips 11 pages* Is there video of this incident or what? Yes there is a video of it on YouTube. It shows him crumpling up the flag and then kicking it. Then it cuts to him apologizing on the ring apron while CM Punk is selling on the mat. There's also a guy whispering into an agent's ear after the apology on the outside.

f***ing hell, what a s***storm. A) Being proud of your country is dumb, espicially when its Brazil. B) It's a piece of cloth with a pattern printed on it A) Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, Vale Tudo and the some of the hottest women (and best asses) in the world all come from Brazil, so I highly disagree. B) A lot of people feel very strongly about that piece of cloth. C) Your "B" was lowercase. Fixed that for ya.

Yeah, I don't think so somehow. Unless the police were a plant as well? I dunno, since they apparently just started something with Jericho/Orton it'd be a bit odd to suddenly suspend him as a work. Though they HAVE used police loads of times before to further angles...

I'm not seeing what that proves beyond what's imagined. You're taking the facts and twisting the to fit what you believe to be the case because dammit, it must be a work! How can it not be? Except Jericho broke Brazilian law. There's no getting around that. The idea that a performer would do something illegal with WWE's consent just so they can write him out or even for the publicity is such a preposterous line of reasoning that it beggers belief that it's even being entertained. I know people want to sound smart by yelling WORK! at everything but if they have to strain credibility like this then it has the opposite effect. Occam's Razor. Which sounds more likely? Jericho heels it up ignorant of the local laws, is forced into a hasty apology and WWE suspends him as a good wiil gesture and minimise bad publicity. Or WWE concocts this entire scenario, which, again, involves Jericho risking time in a Brazilian jail and risks pissing off an entire market and would get them bad press either way, just to get Jericho's name out there. A guy who won't be hanging round for much longer anyway. Come on now.
