But E has force fed Kelly to their audience for years (Just like TNA has with Velvet), so I guess many people grew to like her Any conversation about forcefeeding Divas to the audience starts and ends with Michelle McCool.

If some people are seriously upset by this, they need to re assess their priorities

But McCool actually was a good hand in the ring and became a pretty darn effective heel. She and Layla carried the division on their backs. That was the last time people truly gave a damn about the Divas. Nowadays, Kharma is the last hope.

The Kelly/Beth matches had way more reaction to them than any of the LayCool PPV matches. I loved LayCool but they never really produced much reaction.

If some people are seriously upset by this, they need to re assess their priorities Alot of people here have a seemingly irrational hatred of Kelly. She's not completely horrible in the ring, and most of the fans at arenas seem to love her. But if people like Maria and Mickie who were arguably just as over (or even moreso) could be released and replaced, so can Kelly.

That may be, but they were clearly the only reason the division was given any time at all.

She was the poster child of how being a big topic of discussion online doesn't necessarily translate into actual interest from the people who go to the shows.

She got booed during Mickie James angle, and people wanted to see Natalya as champion against her, but any other time? Lukewarm. No one cared about her at Layla vs Michelle Loser Quits WWE.

Kelly being popular is thanks to the fact that she's good looking, yes, but it's ALSO due to the fact that fans have always had a reason to cheer her. She hasn't always been the main focus of the wrestling division, but she's been a constant presence for years and fans have been given reason after reason to like her since her debut; *Stripper who wants to show off her body but it stopped by abusive boyfriend. *Falls in love with everyman Balls Mahoney (" She could love me too!") *Damsel in distress trapped in a contract with evil Miz. *Plucky underdog who occasionally beats far bigger opponents. *Stalked by Kane. *Bullied by LayCool. *Feuds with, and is fired thanks to Vickie Guerrero (the biggest heat magnet in WWE). *Comes back and attacks Vickie. I've listed this in the past in comparison to Eve who, while pushed, was given nothing all that substantial that fans could sink their teeth into (she walks out with Chris Masters? So what?). These things that Kelly did add up; and there are more, those are off the top of my head. That's not to take away from the fact she's over, but it's to show that she isn't over with WWE putting no effort in. They put effort in, they got results. If they wanted to, they have it in them to do it again; possibly with someone more talented. Honestly, I say keeping her couldn't hurt. Yeah, it's not like she blows the roof off the place, but at least the crowd cares about her and that's a hell of a lot more than someone like Beth Phoenix has ever accomplished. Except Beth was just as over as Kelly when she was face. She also gets invites to talk shows, photoshoots, etc... all without WWE having to say "Hey we have a diva want to talk to them?". That's exactly what they do. WWE send her off to those things; it's not companies chasing Kelly down to do them, it's WWE and whoever agreeing to partner up and Kelly gets sent off because WWE view her fondly because she's pretty and blonde and the mainstream likes that. They've sent Eve and Alicia to them as well (in fact, Eve does it a lot because they must view her as a better speaker). Kelly Kelly is NOT the most marketable Diva. It's just that they have no idea how to market anybody that's unique. That's a good point too. Chyna was the last really unique female who they marketed, and they really struck gold with her. There was a time when she was everywhere and on everything. Kelly is marketable because she's hot and blonde, but does that make her the most marketable?

Can we please not bring up McCool? She was actually competent in the ring, btw.

The hot and blonde argument is such a copout, and doesn't even make sense.
Its not like the other divas are trolls.

Who knows?? She might NOT sign at all. Isn't she going out with a rich hockey?? So instead of being on the road, she can just sit on her ass and do nothing.

They did all that stuff to Mickie, then she come out for the big match at Royal Rumble and.....crickets. I have to say, though, that I think Laycool coming to end in front of a dead crowd was the most fitting end possible. A crowd that cared would have been out of place, as strange as that sounds.

Loads of diva searches indicate that simply being "hot and blonde" doesn't equate to any extra overness. Tiffany and Michelle McCool didn't get over as faces, and McCool got plenty of oppurtunity to do so. But now all of sudden being an attractive blonde is just surefire way to get over? Yeah, thats bulls***. You know good and well its just a way to invalidate her.

Kelly is not over because she was Laycool's job girl and because she was in angles WWE started, then followed up on terribly or completely dropped. She's over despite stuff like that.

Eve and AJ are currently in much bigger storylines than those. Twice a week at that. By your logic they should be super over.

So the alternative is she's over....just because? It's not because she's hot and blonde. It's not because of the attention and angles she's been given. She just is? Right.
