So it was all a work anyway huh? Figures. Points for trying and getting people to buy in but I'm done. Davey can enjoy his XPW style working of the marks while Tony Kozina can continue to guy best known as having to attach himself to Davey Richards right nut to matter in the business.

I don't think anyone's saying it's a work. I think Team Ambition is just turning it into their gimmick, since they now realize they're going to be hearing pretty loud backlash from fans at any shows they do for the next couple months(especially in the midwest).

Why does that promo reminds me of Matt Hardy so much? I mean, Davey is meant to be a smart guy or at least not dumb enough to get himself in trouble like this one before but now he's using the fact that he screwed over a promoter while his friend stepped inside a ring to hurt a kid as heel heat? It's like he looked at the popular reaction of what he did, knew that people didn't like what he did and suddenly went heel so then he can say that it was planned all along. Instead of facing the consequences of his actions like an adult would, he tries to cover things up and make himself look worse. And then people wonder why Davey wasn't pushed before... yup, now when people boo him at shows, he can turn around and spin it, saying how effective of a heel he is, when in reality, people hate him for his out-of-ring personality.

I'm jaded I'll admit but you cannot convince me otherwise now that this isn't a work. All the wrestlers outside of Davey and Kyle have gotten the most exposure they've ever had, Davey has a good reason to finally accept the heel heat he's been getting for over a year and this promoter and company now have more attention and sympathy than ever which only plays into their hands as well. We all fell for it. Hell some vets fell for it. Someone studied Piper playing people with the fake newz stuff to boost his new podcast numbers and took it to the next level.

I can't see how it could possibly be a work. The only one who really would stand to benefit is the promoter in Iowa because people would now know who he is, but I've barely seen his name mentioned anywhere amidst all this discussion. The wrestlers don't benefit from it, because it paints them in a truly negative "you're scumbags who I don't want to spend any money to see again on a wrestling show or support you" kind of way, rather than being good pro wrestling heels. Not to mention it shed light on the fact the promotion was booking a 16 year old, when they probably would have wanted to have that aspect fly under the radar to avoid criticism. This is just a case of these guys horribly now trying to turn their poor decision making into a part of their gimmick. Fail.

He's getting buzz with people who already knew who he was. This isn't making news anywhere outside of the world of wrestling. I don't know, I usually have my bullshit guard on pretty strong but this seems legit to me, it's not as though he's going back to the organization this happened in. It's not like this is a character arc that he can really expand on anywhere but ROH, and ROH will certainly want to distance themselves from this story. I think it really is just as said, Davey Richards trying to salvage some bad PR and turn it into a work. The unfortunate thing about pro wrestling is that if Davey goes to a show full of people who are outraged by what he did, all they can do is boo and it will be taken as a job well done.

In that case, give Davey the Z-Barr treatment. Stand up, walk to the back of the arena, face away from the ring and don't make a sound while he's in there. Maybe then he might get it as that would be the most disrespectful thing you can do to a wrestler. The likelihood of this happening is slim, of course, but giving Davey the total cold shoulder is the only weapon a fan has.

yeah, short of him getting completely blackballed, that's really the best course. Crazy boo's will just make promoters want to book him against their top faces even more. Fans who don't want to contribute to DR/Ambition paydays really need to get their point across someway to both the promoters and wrestlers involved, if they really feel that way.

Boos don't really matter, it's the money. Don't pay to see any of these guys wrestle. If they don't draw anything, they won't get booked.
Hell, write the promoter and say "I just want you to know that I would purchase a ticket to see your show, but I refuse to patronize a show with Davey Richards or Tony Kozina or their young boy."
That's a bit much, but it's the only way to truly get the message across.

Terrible attempt to make this into a basis for their new edgy characters. hahahaha wow.... I will say though that the sole redeeming thing about this video are some of the comments that have been left.

Some interesting comments about this from Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez, but more for what's coming up for Davey... {Spoiler}He's scheduled to return to ROH in September. But also... {Spoiler}He's scheduled to come in for Pro Wrestling NOAH, also in September, and win their Junior Tag League with Zack Sabre Jr., and be pushed as their top junior heavyweight. We should know a lot more come Wednesday when the Observer is out. To bring up a dead issue but NOAH revealed their Junior Tag League, and there were no Davey Richards. So either a) yakuza-controversy NOAH didn't want to do business Richards after this, or b) Meltzer was talking nonsense (nothing new when its about Japan).

Good luck getting everyone to do that, but it would certainly send a message. As far as this being a work, not really seeing anything to convince me of that. Seems like Team Midget might be trying to use it for heel heat, but other than that, why do people think this is a work?

Speaking of Davey putting his foot in his mouth: DAVEY RICHARDS ISSUES APOLOGY TO KEVIN STEEN by Mike Johnson @ 1:00 AM on 8/10/2012 Davey Richards issued the following statement to PWInsider.com on Thursday evening:
"I want to publicly apologize for the comments I said in my shoot interview about Kevin Steen. I was very angry and bitter at some things that were said and done by him during my time as champion.
As different as me and Kevin are professionally, personally I hurt a friend and a very good person. Nonetheless, it's no excuse and I want to apologize to Steen and his fans and wish him and ROH the very best."
Richards is referring to a recent shoot interview DVD released by www.highspots.com. Judging by his words, I don't think ROH will be having him back soon.
