You see? There were some fans here that thought Punk's whiny argument couldn't properly be deconstructed. Well, "John-Boy" just did it.
Admit it, that was one of both guys' better promos in a while.

I am consistently amazed at how much better Cena is when he drops the comedy stuff and remains largely serious.
Other than the quasi-trap at the end (you don't have to pick me, but you have no respect for the people if you don't) I thought it was really on point.

I'm usually a Cena detractor, but by god did he knock down Punk with some home truths. Explains why Punk lashed out at Lawler mind you.
Punk is just 'ugh' to me now. I don't believe in his character and I actually feel myself not being that fussed with Cena beating him at NoC. In fact, I WANT Cena to take the title from Punk at NoC. What is happening to me?

Cena was better on the mic tonight. Punk came off whiny and self-centered, which seems to be intentional seeing as that he's a heel now. And yes. He is a heel.

Cena's half was good but I still don't get how Punk saying and doing what made him face a little over a year ago is now somehow making him a heel and it seems 3/4 the audience feels the same.

I usually hate Cena's promos, but this was really good. I'm looking forward to seeing this feud pan out. Cena has actually been decent on the mic lately when he doesn't try to be funny.

Yes, Cena's promo was so spot-on about Punk's ego issues when WWE booking is the reason why Punk took a backseat in spite of his popularity.
Gosh, I hate worked shoots. They're so f***ing terrible.

It was decent till the end where he's trying to guilt him into the title shot essentially.
Good promo though.
I'd like it if Punk didn't take the bait, and basically went- " Fine. If you can't show me that modicum of respect after I've beaten you time and time again, go to the back of the line John."
Just really go full bore heel.
The story could then get around to him deciding to have Cena be the contender, but there's no reason for him to just cave to Cena's veiled insult.
