I liked the ending of RAW, but I can't for the life of me feel sorry or sad for Vince. Hell, any of the McMahons really. Every time they do this kind of build, they end up coming across as unlikeable and smarmy rather than sympathetic -- yet we're supposed to back HHH defending their honor anyway.
Who could care that a rotten sociopath like the Vince character gets attacked by someone who doesn't care? In the end its just one evil person (or people) victimizing another.
Am I alone on this?

I guess Vince is supposed to be the WWE Universe's Crazy Racist Uncle.
Personally, I don't like my crazy racist uncle, so I agree with you.

I don't, mainly because Heyman is too good. I just can't root against the guy.

Everytime a McMahon gets attacked, I flashback right to the Raw before Rumble '09, when Orton punted Vince McMahon, and the fans went nuts over it, CHEERING for Orton.
So yeah, I just get a good laugh.

Vince is right up there with WWE's top babyfaces.
Vince, Cena, Sheamus & Miz: Major douchebags. I love when they get what's coming to their smartass jerk selves.
These are the heroes! What's wrong with this company?

I don't think we were supposed to feel sorry for him. I think the intended reaction was "Oh s***, Lesnar's pulled the pin out the grenade".
The McMahons are unsympathetic faces though.

Vince almost never came across as a sociopath to me. I liked him better than Austin when they were feuding in the 90's when he seemed like a man who just wanted his business to have a good public face(this is when the feud was just starting of course, before the lousy corporate Ministry stuff.) He's rarely come across as worse than obnoxious to me, and a lot of the attempts to make him the bad guy have really bugged me. Because the fact is, as much as I dislike big business, I do like law & order and he's the one who can dish that out in WWE.

That's why I laughed at Punk being taken out of the segment. So his mixed heat doesn't screw it up. But sure, the crowd is going to boo Brock Lesnar because he beats up Vince. Makes sense.

I think the only time I ever (kayfabe) felt sorry for him was when HHH came out and told him his services were no longer needed.
Of course, that went nowhere really.

In fairness, something needed to be done about the Punk/Heyman/Shield connection.
Ruining main events for months straight will bring out the boss.

What's wrong with this company? The guys they're fighting a psychopaths, or sociopaths half the time. Why is it not okay to be a jerk to a person like that?

So yeah, I just get a good laugh. That Orton segment was so funny. This segment wasn't as funny but I was amazed at the amount of abuse he took considering his age and the fact that he is not an actual trained wrestler.

Were there people booing live? All I heard as the show faded out were some fans cheering and others chanting "ECW" very loudly.

We? I thought the IWC wasn't a hivemind...
I feel sorry for the guy.
Punk, Heyman, Brock, hell even the Shield came across as a bunch of meddling heels in that last segment. It validated everything Vince had done to Punk from October on, because in the end, Vince was right all along. I feel sorry for Brad Maddox too, because he was beaten down by three men while he was defenseless.
He's also an old man getting attacked by a beast for no reason other than he was about to fire a man partly responsible for tinkering with match outcomes for the past few months now. Vince was trying to better his own company by ridding it of parasites. The character of Vince was completely in the right there, and the live audience cheering him on during that entire segment would probably agree with him there.

I'm sure there were some, but they really couldn't expected Brock to get booed out of the arena. He needs Heyman to be a heel, like Punk. That's why the whole "valiant Trips gets his win back" is almost asking to get shit on by the WM audience.

If it weren't for Paul Heyman being more genuine about what people like him and Vince do for a living than Vince himself ever has been right before that happened, then maybe there could've been some sympathy there.
