Talked to a buddy of mine who was there. My suspicions were confirmed. They were showing "Requiem For a Dream" in between matches on the big screen. It explains why the crowd seemed so depressed by the end. They were at the amputation scene right before the main event entrances. What was TNA doing during the ass to ass scene? They saved that scene for anyone who stayed after the main event.

I say this without having seen any of this show, but maybe the quality of this as TNA's biggest show of the year will have people appreciate even lesser wrestlemanias more. I don't quite follow..... Any promotion, no matter it's size should be aiming to put on the best show that it can with the assets that they have at hand. Using that and ONLY that here's how you "Improve" BFG. ~ Bad Influence wins the Pre-show ~ Ult. X match is dropped and split into Manik/Sabin (To further THAT feud properly) and Joe/Hardy/Aries (For a No. 1 Contendership) ~ Tag Match is Now: Bad Influence vs GunStorm. Bad Influence goes over, Still cuts a similar Promo, Abyss STILL comes out and attacks them. ~ KOs match is unchanged......there's on;y so much you can do when literally the ENTIRE division is involved in the match.....maybe lessen the downtime at the beginning. ~ Don't have Angle Not accept the HoF Induction...just comes off odd. ~ Roode/Angle stays MOSTLY the same, drop the weird "Did the Ref put Roode's hand on the ropes?" bit. Distracted from the match. ~ Sting/Magnus......Needed an Impact move or something climactic to finish. As someone said, if it was meant to be a passing the torch..it would have been nice to light it first. ~ EC3 vs Jobber- Should have happened on Impact, not on PPV, that's really my only complaint. ~ Bully/AJ- So much going on and so little HAPPENING. From Bully talking to nobody, to AJ damn near killing himself, to pointless run-ins aplenty.....this is indicative of how to BADLY Overbook with no payoff.

The only thing I'll defend tonight is the EC3 v. PWG Guy. I think it was the perfect way to get over that EC3 is a pampered, better than you heel. To debut on the biggest show and have that be his hand picked opponent by Aunt D, doesn't get much more spoiled brat than that. The only problem was the rest of the card needed to be solid to good at minimum to make up for what was basically promo, and it was not where near that.

Doesn't need to be on TNA's supposed Wrestlemania equivalent though. It's one thing to run MVP vs. Marty Garner on a random PPV like No Mercy, it's another to have what should be on Impact on f***ing Bound for Glory.

The whole point of this guy is he's bigger than the company, he is a Carter. He gets treatment that no one should because of his name and debuting against a nothing on the biggest show of the year is just that. Putting it on Impact or any other show and it loses its meaning.

To be fair I think this is before the show.

To be fair I think this is before the show. No, if you look closely you can see the KOs Title match in the ring.

I think the main event could have benefited from more run-ins. Dixie is supposed to want to stop AJ at all costs, but for the last few minutes she just stands there and watches while AJ wins? She has nothing up her sleeve to stop him?
I want TNA to succeed, but that ending almost felt like a last minute happy ending thrown in because the future looks uncertain.

I think this is the first time I've ever read "the main event could have benefited from more run-ins." I mean I agree, but that was weird. Also you'd think they would've been able to give tickets away to this thing. Surely you could round up at least 150 people to sit there for 3 hours

According to Meltzer, AJ has injured his arm in the table bump.

Also quick question, out of all the good wrestlers in the California area you pick Peter Avalon to be on your biggest show of the year? Hell why not bring in Sharky and have a nostalgia pop instead of giving someone whose only claim in wrestling is that he's mates with Joey Rayn a spot on your biggest show of the year. Hell Bring in Joey Ryan. A guy the crowd would get behind. A guy tna buried. And a guy who would lose ans be of value to have lose to Bateman. Heck could have used Any tna guy in that spot right? Why not put this match on the damn preview show and the gauntlet on the ppv. Having the gauntlet in the ppv would have been a better time waster. Went to bfg in irvine in 2009 for free We got good seats. I think most of the crowd was papered and they made us sit closer But it was way more full 4 years ago IMO lockdown and slammiversary are their wm and summerslam cards Most of the cool stuff happened at lockdown this year

I've had this image up in a tab for the last half an hour, I just casually look at it every now and again. I'm not even a TNA fan, haven't been for a year or two now but there's something about this image that is just fascinating to me. I can't bring myself to look away for too long.

It's your biggest show of the year why not book Ken Shamrock there instead? First champion of the TNA era, a recognizable face to both MMA and Wrestling fans. Probably wouldn't want that much money and just have Ethan beat him in 6-7 minutes.

I was at the show live and it being a live show made me enjoy it a lot more than most people here. I believe the arena looks that way because no one sat on that side in the upper partsand most of the crowd was on the camera side filled up there. Yeah though, that entire side of the arena was unfilled and it wasn't the biggest of arenas to begin with.
1. Pre-show gauntlet match: This was alright, Bad Influence definitely had the crowd support against Chavo and Hernandez. That changed when EY and Park were out there as it became more split. I kind of figured once they did the order that the Bro Mans would win since Daniels and Kazarian going the distance makes no sense and I didn't see them doing face vs. face for the tag titles. I suppose the Mr. Olympia thing made them do this cause booking wise this makes NO sense after they were basically booked as jobbers before this past week's Impact for a long time.
2. Ultimate X: This was fun for what it was though didn't quite feel like it lived up to it's potential. Manik stood out a lot with the spots he got to do and it at least featured all of these guys on the show. I thought this would have been a good way of having Manik beat some former X Division Champions and Jeff Hardy to give him some credibility but it looks like they're choosing to run with Sabin.
3. Tag Titles: This match surpassed my expectations by far. Despite the fact that it was incredibly hard to buy Jessie and Robbie as challengers, these four tried hard and at least gave it what they had. Bro Mans winning once again I'm guessing was for press with Mr. Olypmia but this does not speak well for the tag titles right now with their pushes the last few months.
4. Knockouts title: This was sad. I'm a fan of women's wrestling and all three of them are good but this match just did not sit well with this crowd at all. They were hot when they all made their entrances but once it went on, they just started not to care. It was almost WWE like but not quite as bad. No idea if the Lei'd Tapa stuff was planned beforehand but it really feels like a rip off of AJ and Tamina. Crowd didn't care much either outside of that vicious from the ramp into the ring powerbomb on Brooke. I heard Candice LeRe and Veda Scott got a tryout before fans were let in, hope either or both of them get signed to inject more life here.
5. Roode and Angle: Best match of the night by far and both of them brought it. While I wouldn't say it's up there with either of their best matches, it definitely felt worthy of being on the show. The hand stuff with the referee was weird but outside of that, really enjoyable. Was legitimately worried about Angle because of the way he was actually selling that injury. It added a bit to me knowing the guy is in bad physical shape and seeing him trying to feel his fingers. Then he popped up and I pretty much figured it was all an angle.
6. EC3 vs. Pretty Peter Avalon: Only real notable thing about this was seeing Willie Mack and a few other indy guys in the crowd chanting "PPA" along with other sections of the crowd. Honestly, he was probably more over than EC3. I'm a big Derrick Bateman fan and hope the best for him with this character but the crowd crapped all over this the longer it went and it wasn't good heat for EC3.
7. Sting and Magnus had a decent match but a pretty out of nowhere finish, at least it felt like. It's like they did everything right here outside of maybe the Magnus heel turn (saw the shrug but didn't hear the commentary for it), yet I still don't really feel Magnus gained much of anything off of this right now.
8. World title: Hard to really rate this. While I feel it wasn't a bad match or anything, I feel like between this and AJ and Sting at BFG a few years ago, AJ never gets a chance to have a showstealing world title win. The interference and everything else just hindered that. The real standout from this was the 450 through the table but hopefully he's not badly hurt off of that. The end at least came off big in the arena and AJ went through basically a large part of the crowd celebrating with them and tagging hands. Dixie legit stood there for about 5 minutes having to act out being shocked and outraged for the camera and for the crowd while not being filmed. This highly entertained me for the fact that she had to keep this up that long and even had a soda cup thrown at her at one point.
Overall, I had fun and a great experience sitting near the ramp but as a show, can easily admit it's not memorable in the slightest in terms of quality.

That's extremely sad. I feel even worse because I love both Bully & AJ & I know they deserve better than this.
