Wil Myers won the AL Roy. But the royals finished in 3rd so the deal was totally worth it for them.

The Boston Globe's Nick Cafardo is speculating that the Red Sox and Angels could work out a deal that sends Mark Trumbo to Boston in exchange for Will Middlebrooks and Felix Doubront.
I shouldn't have to go into detail to explain why this would be a horrible trade for the Red Sox.

Trumbo and Middlebrooks are essentially the same player at the plate. Trumbo has a slash line of .250/.299/.469/.768 with a 162-game average of 33 home runs and 100 RBI, while Middlebrooks hits at a clip of .254/.294/.462/.756 with a 162-game average of 31 homers and 99 ribbies. When two players are that identical, you take the guy who is two years younger in Middlebrooks, and you DEFINITELY don't include a developing young lefty in Felix Doubront.

Oh yea I was mostly kidding. Trumbo is getting expensive and is a 1 tool player who can't play defense. It will be bad deal for the socks.

That's a horrible deal. I wouldn't touch that with a 60 foot pole.

According to Matt Cerrone of MetsBlog, the White Sox, Cubs, Mets and Astros are among teams showing early interest in free agent outfielder Curtis Granderson.

Even if the Red Sox end up getting out bid for Mike Napoli, Mark Trumbo isn't the answer.
His BEST season is a .317 OBP

Terry Francona takes the AL Manager of the Year, and Clint Hurdle the NL Manager of the Year.

Terry Francona takes the AL Manager of the Year, and Clint Hurdle the NL Manager of the Year. I'm totally fine with Francona winning Manager of the Year over John Farrell. If you would have told me before the season that the Red Sox would win the World Series, I'd scoff at it, but after some consideration I'd say "Maybe if things bounce their way, I could see them pulling it off." However, if you approached me prior to the season and said the Indians would be a playoff team, I would have laughed until I ran out of oxygen, died, and then came back to life as a zombie who still couldn't stop laughing. EDIT - Two voters left John Farrell off their ballots entirely. You want to vote for Francona? Again, I'm fine with that. But I'd love to hear one rational argument in which John Farrell is undeserving of being a top-three candidate for AL Manager of the Year. ESPN.com's Christina Kahrl voted for Francona, Bob Melvin and Joe Maddon. The Seattle Times' Asuka Iinuma Brown voted for Melvin, Maddon and Buck Showalter. But haha, oh man, the biggest laughingstock is that Todd Wills of ESPN Dallas gave a third-place vote to Ron Washington. Does he know they play baseball outside of Texas?

I think we oughta have co-managers of the year. Farrell/Francona should have split

Something tells me when John Farrell looks back on this season, the first thing that comes to his mind won't be "Man, if only I would have won Manager of the Year."

Astros general manager Jeff Luhnow indicated Tuesday that it's highly unlikely the club will trade Jason Castro.
FOX Sports' Jon Morosi and Ken Rosenthal report that the Tigers are interest in Brian Wilson.
Rangers general manager Jon Daniels indicated Tuesday that the Rangers will not attempt to re-sign Matt Garza.
John Gambadoro of 620 KTAR reports that the Diamondbacks have hired former Cardinals pitching coach Dave Duncan as a pitching consultant/special assistant to the general manager.

The Phillies are apparently discussing trading for Domonic Brown for Jose Bautista so Jose Bautista can be their 3rd baseman next season.
This seems like a bad idea on several levels.
