There's been a bunch of talk regarding how Cena should return come January (presumably), and hopes that he won't steal Bryan's thunder in the process by finishing off the HHH/Orton/Shield regime- as some fans think allegedly happened when he ousted John Laurinaitis in place of Punk.
There are a number of differences between then and now, I think. For one thing, Punk was WWE champion through his early 2012 feud with Ace and Ziggler, so it was obvious his end goal was to topple Ace. There, I can understand why some fans would be bothered by Cena finishing the job, but as of now Bryan's primary goal isn't so much to get rid of HHH so much as it is to win his title back and stick it to him, Once he beats Orton, he's essentially won the feud.
Not to mention that if the regime is still inact by the time Cena returns, it would be badly OOC for him not to at least try to help Bryan, given he hates the McMahons and was one of the only top tier kayfabe figures to truly believe in Bryan (which of course makes DBry's IMA RAEL WRASSLOR rants look all the dumber, but that's another story). Plus Bryan's already been established as Cena's equal due to how down-the-middle his Summerslam win was, so I don't see much danger in him looking like Cena's Zack Ryder-style little buddy if John helps him.
Also, there's the fact that the current power players have a lot more manpower, and especially if Big Show winds up (reluctantly) turning heel, Bryan and whatever ragtag band of freedom fighters he's gathered will still need another major acquisition to tip the odds in their favor.
