I don't know what to contribute to this thread other than saying that the only reason I still watch wrestling today is Alberto Del Rio. And the Deevers, occasionally. I'm pretty tired of convincing people to see the good in him. You know, if you don't like him then don't like him. I don't really care. But don't get rid of him just because you don't like him because GASP. Some people actually DO like him and don't want him gone. As small as the market may be for him, it's still a market. And about the WHC/WWE title thing, don't worry. He's said in an interview that he prefers chasing the World title over the WWE title because it meant more to him. It was the first title he went after. But then if it is a smaller market, shouldn't it be treated as such and relegated to the midcard? I wouldn't mind but then I wouldn't get to see him every RAW and SmackDown. In all seriousness, though... They can go ahead and kick his push down a few notches. Just don't wish him gone altogether. I just get that impression (wanting him gone) from people here and it makes me sad.

He's just mind-numbingly boring. It's the same shit every freaking week, and it's not even remotely interesting shit. "DESTINY!" *various kicks -> Cross Armbreaker which is held for a few seconds after the bell* "NEVER SEEN ADR SO AGGRESSIVE!" Ugh. Also, surprised we haven't had "keepinitreal365" jumping in here to defend Del Rio. Because this site is slow. I'm on here once every 4-5 days. Del Rio has WAY more moves than what you said. I'm to the point now where I may just start trolling Del Rio hate threads with na na na na na posts. Del Rio isn't going ANYWHERE. I understand people being tired of him because of his heavy handed push but ALOT of the hate he receives is ridiculous. He's a phenomenal wrestler. I've been a fan of him for over 10 years. People that say he has no charisma LoL. Clearly they haven't seen his CMLL and AAA stuff. Del Rio isn't the only reason that I watch wwe. I've been watching wrestling my entire life. I will say that he's the one that I enjoy the most. I don't think he's "horrendous" or "horrible" on the mic. I agree that he was pushed too fast. He never had the opportunity to hone his character BEFORE being thrust into the M.E scene. As fantastic as he is. He still should have been built up properly. I.C. title reign or 2. Tag title reign and then the main title scene. He needs to add more to his character. I think they should have kept him face. Teamed him with Ricardo and had them win the tag titles. People will continue to hate him. That's fine. He's already had a HOF career. He just did an interview saying that he's Vince McMahon's favorite heel and that Vince said that him and Christian stole the show at SummerSlam. As I said Del Rio isn't going anywhere. He needs a meaningful feud with a good face. His feud with Big was great as well as their matches. His feud with Swagger started off good fell flat then picked up a little. Their matches. Especially their smackdown matches were fantastic. The feud with Ziggler was meh but their 2 ppv matches COMPLETELY outshined the wwe title matches at PayBack and MITB. I also thought that his match with Christian at SummerSlam was SLIGHTLY better than Cena/Bryan and they had about 20mins less. He has no feud so he makes up for it with stellar matches. I hope after he loses the WHC he takes a little time off to rest and comes back with a revamped character. Until then I'll just continue to enjoy him as MY WHC.

There's a character called Hector Riva, who appears in National Lottery ads in the UK. He's basically just a rich guy who LOVES being rich and the lifestyle it brings. He's not nasty or malevolent, but just can't conceive of anything other than being rich. That's what Alberto needs to be. Not babbling on about Mexico or the US, or his destiny or any of that bollocks, but just being rich, and being bewildered as to why his wealth doesn't allow him to just do whatever he wants. Whenever he appears, he should be revelling in his wealth. The happiest guy in the world. Another character is follow is Paul Whitehouse's impersonation of Roman Abramovich. Anything he sees, he wants to buy. He'll hand out gold bars and diamonds to anyone, just to get minor things (like the right table at a restaurant or something).

Either that, or delusional. I mean, He's been in the WWE, what, 3-4 years, won the title a few times and he's HOF worthy? By that logic, half of the current roster should be in there.

Really good wrestler but has nothing on the personality side besides calling Rey a naco.

They need to give up on Del Rio already. They tried him as a heel...nobody gave a damn. They tried him as a babyface...hardly anyone gave a damn. Now, he's a heel again and still nobody gives a damn. For some ungodly reason despite all this he is the WHC. Why?
That is a good question to ask. People care more about Zack Ryder than Del Rio and Ryder is hardly on TV while Del Rio is on every single week.

I admit I don't know that much about Del Rio as he came in while I had my WWE sabbatical (I came back after Mania this year) but what I DO know of him I think his in ring work is good but ye gods he's dull.

"Del Rio said that he thinks that the American audience does not like him because they don’t like a Mexican being successful in an American company." What? Rey seems to disprove this theory alongside various Guerreros, Tito Santana and lots of mid-card acts. It also doesn't explain why fans in countries outside America don't like him.

I'd be sick of ANYONE involved with a title for this long.
He doesn't need to be fired. But it's time for him to do something else for an extended period.

It is not ADR himself that's dull, it's the constant need for him to be WHC that's dull. Let him lose to RVD and the obligatory "rematch clause" at the next PPV, so he can have an opening to be in an actual angle.

I hope that he was just doing some subtle working there, but I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he really thinks that. If that was true, he'd be getting booed by stupid racists, which would be at least some kind of reaction.

Why can't he be a rich asshole who flaunts all his money. Have him cut ric flair or ted dibiase promos about how much money he has, the cars he drives, the mansion in miami, talk about getting on his personal leer jet to get out of "insert city" talk about the hicks from the sticks, the losers who live in the ghetto, and the trailer trash he sees in the audience representing the ignorant, stupido, american/canadian/euro trash he sees in the streets.
See what i did there? You get mad at me? That is a quick cheap heat promo that he can recite in any city in any country using his "gimmick" which is spoken of, but never shown.
Hell he was getting heat cursing out rey mysterio in spanish. Why won't wwe book him to be a slimy, egotistical, rich, anti-american, cheating, dirty heel?
Him being rich is an easy gimmick, him being anti-american makes it easier.

This is so amazing. I just want to imagine how the talk went over with their family during dinner. "DAD, WHY DID YOU RUN OVER SANTA?" "I--listen, son--" "DID YOU RUIN CHRISTMAS DAD? DID YOU RUIN CHRISTMAS?"

I know they're both American and only Mexican by heritage, but they've always played up their Mexican heritage to the point that it makes no difference. The audience doesn't like Del Rio because he's dull as dirt.
