They're killing the guy for me.
I know he's not the best interview in the world, but having him smile and laugh off everything with sarcasm is making him such an irritating character. Aren't fans supposed to be mad about his treatment and get behind him? If he doesn't even seem mad himself, how's it gonna work? He's got to have Big Show help him at every turn, and Shawn Michaels stick up for him verbally. "Hey Hunner back off, the kid's good!" Meanwhle they do nothing but tear him down, and he doesn't have a damn thing to say back. Orton tells him constantly "you can't beat me", and because DA SCRIPT he can't even say "I have! Repeatedly! I beat John Cena right in the middle of the ring!" Cena takes a rare clean loss, and they've failed to get a lick of mileage out of it.
He's always going to get the YES chants, but I'm tellin' ya, this is hurting him big time. He was on fire as a face until Summerslam, got the perfect big title win at the perfect moment, and it's slowly been chipped away at ever since. Even if he wins at HIAC, it will be because of Shawn Michaels, and he'll feel like an inconsequential champ in the midst of the all the moving parts of the Best For Business angle. I'd rather see Orton win and build up to Cody beating him at this point.

Of course it hasn't. I was never interested in him to begin with.

I've been done with the angle for a few weeks now since they kept waiting to put the title on him. I honestly don't care who wins at HIAC now. It's just a massive clusterf*** at this point. Well played, WWE.

Yeah.
But not because of right now.
Pretty much since after Summerslam. Him getting the title back from Orton at the ppv after Summerslam didn't even feel big to me, I just didn't care. Cena put Bryan over, I'm not that interested in the stuff involving him anymore. He's already a 2 time WWE champion and it doesn't even seem like it.
Also even though they are usually good matches. Bryan vs. The Shield in some way shape or form has gotten old to me too.

Honestly I have not been into him since AJ spurned him and he fell into being Kane's wacky sidekick, then the uptight guy with the comedy beard, then the douchebag who was better than everyone because he would wrestle in armories, then the guy with the forced push who would run out and get his ass kicked every week, and now I dunno what he is, the guy who is perpetually in main events. I admire his work but I haven't liked his character in a while. I think many talents could have produced more interesting stuff (not necessarily been more over, crowds love him) with this push than he has. Also even though they are usually good matches. Bryan vs. The Shield in some way shape or form has gotten old to me too. I feel like it's happened over 40 times. Seriously.

No, but I'm weird and tend to enjoy my favorites as long as they keep me entertained win or lose. *shrugs* That's cool. I'm the same way most of the time, I still like Zigs a lot even though he loses all the time. The big thing is that this whole angle is making him less entertaining to me. His role in these promo segments is so. bad. I'm beyond tired of people talking shit to him, and him getting that shit eating grin and saying "WOW RANDY ISN'T THAT GREAT" or something. It's like they're trying to make him Y2J or something, he does not fit the part.

Yep. WWE killed my interest in Bryan, TNA killed my interest in AJ Styles. It's pure wrestling struggle for me right now.

I said it in the Raw thread;
At this point, he needs a Cena or a Punk to get me interested. Unfortunately, they're also feuding with guys I don't give a shit about (Del Rio, Heyman).

Not for me it has stayed constant. While I was never his biggest mark here, I do like him a lot.

Whether its a singles match, tag, 3 on 3 or a singles match turned into a 3 on 3 match. I just don't care about Bryan vs. the Shield anymore, it's happened so much.

Cena and Punk give a shit enough to make the guy look good and put over his ability and have an engaging back and forth. This whole angle has been "talk shit to Bryan, Bryan laughs, tries to retort, it's no-sold, more shit-talking, then Bryan gets beat down or BEEG BEEG BEEG BEEG SHOW"

No, but it's typical of WWE to not strike while the iron is hot.

I've been going on and on about it forever, but most of the time I've been written off. HBK shouldn't have been brought back, and they need to stop making Big Show look like the big hero. It's like WWE thinks that all these "stars" are giving Bryan a rub, but it just comes off as them being patronizing and condescending. Bryan just looks like the special needs kid that the bad kids pick on, but the cool kids are really nice to him. I'd like to see Cody vs. Orton as a filler program while Bryan goes directly after HHH or a heel turned Big Show, but Cody needs more build up before he can be a true contender. Make him look good in non-title feuds with other "top level" talents either by possibly putting him in the Heyman feud or against a post-WHC Del Rio. If Cody gets the title now, we might get 18 Seconds part 2 and Cody will be hated for "taking Bryan's spot". I've said it multiple times and I know I sound like a broken record, but WWE just needs to let Bryan have this.

The HBK stuff is really not helping. Bryan was fine without being connected to HBK, it just reduces his role in things and veers it toward HHH/HBK/Undertaker maudlin hokey bullshit.

Any character growth stopped dead after NoC.
He is now the "Yes" Man who beats up the Shield every week. EVERY. WEEK.
Hopefully after this ridiculous Authority storyline is over they find something better for him because he's clearly got the tools to win over the crowd - big time.

I'd rather see Orton win and build up to Cody beating him at this point. laughing it off is a giant f*** you to the Authority. If he wasn't mad then he would not do things like hit Orton with his finisher for no reason at the end of the contract signing. In fact the more I hear a face disregard the heels actions the happier I am. The heel's actions? Terrible. The heel himself? A bug to be stepped on thoroughly. Were you watching in the late 90s when Warrior claimed that he could beat Hogan and that his past win over Hogan was nothing special. That was regarded as terrible booking by most writers on the IWC. Because if it was easy for Warrior and he would do it again easily, what's the incentive to buy? That's the reason normal wrestlers don't do call backs to things like that. A heel wrestler is not a person to be trusted. Even a monster heel who crushes people has warped enough morality to think venting their sadism is okay. When they speak they are lying to the public, or they're lying to themselves, or they're being proud of something that no one should be proud of.

Rhodes and Orton working like Mankind and the Rock did in late 1998/early 1999, while Bryan tangles with Triple H like Steve Austin did with Vince McMahon could pad television until the Royal Rumble. And while I wouldn't make Rhodes Foleyesque (meaning that unlike Foley vis-a-vis the Rock, Rhodes isn't a goofy psychopath), I'd keep Rhodes active as a guy fans should cheer for, so if fans cool on Bryan, Rhodes can be slotted in for a Wrestlemania title win like Batista was in 2005 when the Orton face push of 2004 fizzled. But if Bryan stays hot, he should get the Wrestlemania title win (which means Bryan needs more obstacles than Triple H to get through beforehand... maybe Brock Lesnar?) while Cody gets over as a main guy and then those two could go back and forth during the spring next year.

I stopped paying attention to it in May, I legit fell asleep during their match live at Payback, is how little I care to see this for the 500th time. f***. And they're all good wrestlers, is the worst part. You just can only do something so many times.

I don't know if I want to speak for the other side of the spectrum, but I think there are a lot of people okay with it, because Bryan is still getting the biggest push of his career.
Unfortunately, I think they're doing a VERY bad job of handling it. I don't know if they're doing it on purpose, but it almost comes off as such.
