If he did buy it....would it be a better idea to just scrap TNA and merged it with Resistance Pro?

If he did buy it....would it be a better idea to just scrap TNA and merged it with Resistance Pro? I think it would be in his best interest to get rid of the TNA name altogether, bar of course for DVD re-releases etc. however I think he should keep the Impact Wrestling brand around as it has around 1 million fans who watch the television show on Spike in the United States not to mention the plethora of people who tune in and engage in the Impact Wrestling product and brand around the world. It might not be WWE but it's definitely WAY above indie level and it would be smart for Mr. Corgan to keep the Impact Wrestling brand around even if it is Resistance Pro presents: Impact Wrestling.

Yea, keep Impact as the name of the show but have Resistance Pro be the main company. Atm TNA is pretty much damage good and is a joke to everyone beside their super hardcore diehard fan.

PWInsider basically just confirmed his interest in a roundabout way.

As someone who isn't a Smashing Pumpkins fan, I don't understand about 90 percent of this thread. Can't we get "Weird Al" Yankovic interested in buying TNA? Anytime a challenger loses a title match they can play Close But No Cigar over the sound systems.

I dunno how exactly he'd handle tna, but at least he know's more about wrestling than Dixie. I'll tell you he at least wouldn't have blindly handed the company to bischoff and hogan, and pushed wrestlers entirely on who's the most famous.

This could be very interesting if it became a reality.
I doubt that it will though.
Think about it this way. Instead of relying on established, washed-up names like Hogan, Bischoff, Ted Turner, Jake the Snake, etc, why not take a chance on a bullet with butterfly wings?

Topher is Human (@ Colt Cabana) I just put in a bid to buy the Smashing Pumpkins. I love Billy, but let's be honest, Colt could get a pretty good deal on the Pumpkins right now. Now if James Iha was with the crew, maybe it would be a higher price. As for TNA, I'm all for it if it means the return of Cheerleader Melissa.

Yeah, that is one positive thing. Billy sees a mega star in Cheerleader Melissa and my guess he'd want her pushed to the moon as a top star, which is what I would do, and to be honest, if he was to buy in with Jeff Jarrett, he would be on board with that as Jeff seems to love using Melissa, be it as a manager or a performer in Ring Ka King. It's actually sad because when Jeff lost power, along with Dutch Mantell, Road Dogg, Jim Cornette and Savio Vega getting let go, Melissa's stock fell up until she left the company, though that could be a coincidence.

Very exciting news. I bet Jay Bradley is pretty excited for that, he likely gets to keep his job, haha.

I'm also interested to see if this information is true, if Billy brings in some of his Resistance Pro guys (Robert Anthony, Jay Bradley and Da Soul Touchaz are the only acts I know).
