wouldn't mind him coming back for a little while but I'm not sure there's really room for him on the roster anymore. Yeah because we have room for JTG and Ryder but not Batista? But nah, I get your point. Now there isnt a clear brand split and the World Heavyweight belts been retired it would be mean Batista hogging the main event scene again and being part time and older it wouldnt be great for business.

His matches are boring as hell. I just want to hear the heel promos.

If he's done (or soon will to be) filming his movie commitments (namely Guardians of the Universe, set to hit theaters next summer via Disney/Marvel), then a short run in WWE could help give him momentum before the movie is released. Maybe he would be a good candidate for the Jericho/RVD schedule.

Face Batista I was a guilty fan of, with his somewhat odd charisma that made for entertaining segments ("congratulations.........i want my rematch *walksoff*" etc), his entrance with the epic dance/pyro/theme, it all worked in my opinion. Now his ring work (yes I am aware how crazy it sounds, feel free to burn/come afer me if you would like ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) ) has always been underrated from my view. His power moves have always looked great and crisp, his unique way of selling and the fact that he has always known how to/consistently has done throughout his career (looking at Cena at WM23), he had great speed for a big man maybe on the same level of Lesnar/Goldberg 'hosses that can run' catagory, and he had great finishers/signature moves. I could more than put up with face Batista, he showed personality which made his long reign on top and his revolving door of title shots a lot easier to put up with and he had an unexpected chemistry with Edge/Taker and others that goes unnoticed most of the time. I loved Douchetista as well. What else needs to be said about the character that already hasn't been said? A career revival, even if I enjoyed in him as a face, that he desperately needed this side of Booker T and his King Booker character. With GOTG coming out I would love for him to come back as a face initially (hyped up return for Rumble see below), but as they gradually start promoting GOTG he starts morphing further back into the Douchetista character. This metamorphosis is recognised by the roster and his old friends Big Show/Rey/Cena etc all telling him that they do not want to see the return of his inflated ego as they have finally got him to come to terms with Douchetista so many years on (apologising to Rey specifically). These warnings are unsuccessful and when things finally reach a point of the movie nearly coming out/WWE's promotion of it he fully turns into HOLLYWOOD DOUCHETISTA. 'Hollywood star' giving a new spin on the character he left with, obviously taking a few foot notes from the Hollywood Rock character, then turn it up to 11. Add elements of MNM like paparazzi, more pink shirt promo interrupting Douchetista, hell you could bring his tour bus/living trailer he used at GOTG to the ring for a promo. Now as far as how I would return him. Do a hype video on the first Raw of the new year and the weeks after promoting his return in the Rumble match (like Taker/RVD in the past). Now that the information has got out milk it for all it's worth and create as many buys as possible. Keep him happy with a less house shows more tv/ppv part time schedule like Jericho/RVD/Rock etc. I am really looking forward to this as you can probably tell by now, especially as I like him both as a face and a heel. The possibilities for fresh match ups and storytelling for him now is truly great and works well with it being out Christmas season for the next 4 months. It's a very nice way to start off the hype for Mania and I am already more excited than I was last year, it looks like (hopefully) that they may put a bit of effort into the build this year after the godawful laziness last year. I am very looking forward to seeing the big animals photoshopable mug back again on my tv screen ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) .

That part alone is why Batista CANNOT be at the same tier, and should default to the Jericho/RVD level: We KNOW John Cena is a bigger star than Batista is. If Batista leaves, then comes back as a conquering God and we're told that he's a bigger star than John Cena, now, then the message would become "All these modern guys are a bunch of chumps. If they were worth your cheers, they'd leave us and then come back. Then, they'd be REAL stars." I don't see it that way, in particular because Cena IS treated as being on the same tier as the returning special attraction stars. He beat Brock, and he traded wins with Rock. His presence isn't treated as being as big a deal solely because he's around every week, but we're still clearly supposed to think of him as on par with the legends. And I have no doubt that when Cena does retire from fulltime competition (assuming he doesn't get forced out by an injury that keeps him from wrestling again like Edge), he'll be joining Undertaker/HHH/etc as one of the regular guys who comes back for Wrestlemania and the occasional other match and is treated like a bigger deal than the fulltime guys. I wasn't questioning how WWE would use Batista, I was questioning how fans would perceive him. To quote my earlier post with added emphasis, "will he be a name who can actually be promoted in a big "whoa, BATISTA's back!" sense like Brock or Rock". I don't think this is a question of whether WWE wants to push Batista as a bigger star than he is, it's about whether he made enough of an impact that fans really will be excited and tune in just to see Batista back in WWE. Hogan didn't get cheered over Rock because WWF wanted it to happen, Rock didn't get cheered over Cena because WWE wanted it to happen, these were natural reactions that came from fans who wanted to see the big stars of yesteryear. And while WWE would probably prefer if their current crop of stars were big enough that they didn't need to bring back nostalgia acts, they're certainly not going to stop brining in the nostalgia acts as long as they draw. So if Batista can't generate interest on that level... I'd say that means WWE is failing at building guys into big enough stars to be able to come back as draws 5-10 years down the line. And since that's an actual, expected part of their business model nowadays, I think that is something for them to be concerned about.

I highly doubt Douchetista is going to be returning. I fully expect "This Sunday" Batista, and we'll see him possibly either pulling the job for Lesnar, or perhaps being McMahon's ace against Triple H.
