The fact that the HHH/Stephanie/Authority/B+ storyline has been quietly buried doesn't bode well for Bryan. He won't be getting his revenge against them, because they haven't even mentioned it for months. Now he's in a feud with the Wyatts. So as far as the viewer is concerned, he lost the Authority feud. The heels were proven right. It's utterly terrible storytelling. If he is to win the title at Wrestlemania, they basically have three months to craft an entirely new storyline for him relating to the WWE Championship. I just don't think it's going to happen, unless they introduce it at the Royal Rumble. It does make me wonder what the hell the point of that match between him and Orton after TLC was. It was awesome, yeah (which is way more than can be said for any of their PPV matches), but it didn't lead to a triple threat at the Rumble, and despite it bringing up by the Bryan / Authority stuff again and ending with Bryan having Orton beaten, there hasn't been the slightest bit of follow-up.

Who else is there? Bryan vs Orton doesn't draw. Bryan vs Cena is unlikey. They've probably got other plans for Punk...what else is there?

It just strikes me that they had no plan. It seems that the sole intent was to get HHH and Stephanie over once again as being proven right. Like all stories, they should have started with the end goal, which should have been Daniel Bryan winning the title, from either HHH or the chosen corporate champion, amid jubilant scenes at Wrestlemania, then enjoying a long reign as a fighting champion, thus proving he was a top guy. The lead up to that would have been HHH hiring mercenaries to take DB out before he even gets to Wrestlemania in increasingly unfair matches in successive PPV's Then you move backwards, to the Royal Rumble, with HHH fixing the draw, giving DB #1 and hiring mooks throughout the match to stop him winning, which of course they don't. Then you move backwards again. What obstacles would he face to even get into the Royal Rumble? That would fill more PPV's. Then before that you'd have him getting closer and closer to winning the title or facing the champion, only to be screwed over and denied. That's how it's supposed to be done. A long term plan. None of it has happened. Even guys like Orton have suffered due to the shitty nature of the booking.

Honestly, just seeing this rumor happening makes me MORE convinced Bryan's winning the Rumble tomorrow than anything else.
This match just goes past "I could see WWE doing it", and past "The WWE is dumb enough to do it", and "The WWE is openly trolling the fans if they do this match", right into "The very concept of Daniel Bryan facing Sheamus at Wrestlemania this year is so utterly stupid and such blatant trolling the fans that this match HAS to be NEWZ that the WWE openly handed to the Observer just to cover their real plans up, and/or (likely) drum up some smark outrage going into the Rumble."

Hm... 1st WrestleMania meeting: Randomly turned into a Battle Royal. 2nd WrestleMania meeting: 18 seconds.

Cut to: Wrestlemania. Bryan somehow kisses his own beard. Turns around and eats a brogue kick. 1-2-3. Time of match: 0:17.

You sure it won't be a broomstick?
What better way to stick to the person burying him.

From Bryan himself openly admitting he's not booked for the Rumble to this rumor, I think WWE is doin some coverup work here.

BTW, Meltzer also pretty much confirmed this on Wrestling Observer Radio last night.

According to Dave Meltzer just now on the LAW, the plan for WrestleMania is Daniel Bryan vs. Sheamus. Yeah.
Wow.

If it lasts longer than 12 seconds, its a step up for Bryan.

If they go through with that, it's the first match of the night I guarantee it.

It really does feel like WWE does things exclusively to disenfranchise me and people with my tastes at this point.
