Batista will never pop ratings again.
That was a one time thing with people being curious what would happen.
Kinda like when TNA got that 1.5 when Hogan appeared on Jan 4th.

All I will say is that he doesn't look like a main eventer. His ring gear is atrocious, and he's too old with too many tattoos to really be a marquee star and be in all of the WM XXX pictures for years to come. Hell, I wanted Bryan to win, but Reigns or even Sheamus would've been much better.

But that comes out after Mania. Aside from that he's been in that RZA martial arts movie no one saw. Yeah, but he could be champion for a while assuming he wins. Even if he doesn't, he'll still be around in the WWE, so when people see that big guy in the Marvel movie, they'll look him up and see he's a wrestler. Then why not wait til closer to the movie's release date to make him champ? It makes no sense to not cash in on Bryan when he's so hot. |

Probably because of Guardians of the Galaxy. It looks good having a movie star become the champion, like Rock did last year. What's so strange about that is that, while GotG looks really fun, it also seems to be the riskiest Marvel movie of the last lil bit given the property isn't well known, and Big Dave isn't exactly the star, he's at best third or fourth banana in the ensemble, so the Rock thing isn't really comparable at all. Dave's an actor, Rock's a star. |

The main event belongs to movie stars now. One of the highest honours in the company isn't even attainable from within the company anymore. And WWE wonder's why their wrestlers aren't passionate anymore. Dolph Ziggler should just leave for 3 years, go make movies, than come back. He'll get a guaranteed main event run. It's pathetic. |

Something that's been bugging me with the whole "Batista the Movie Star." Guardians of the Galaxy is coming out in August, that's the left over scraps of the Summer Blockbuster movies. Even with Marvel movies trending, I don't see Batista getting that much of a boost from this movie.

Yes, Batista is in a possible summer blockbuster, but he's like the 10th most famous guy in the movie. It's not like he's going to be coming out on Regis and Kelly or David Letterman with the WWE title. They're going to send him to do the press stuff that the more famous people (Bradley Cooper, Chris Pratt, etc.) don't want to do. In what world is Chris Pratt more famous than Batista? A better actor sure, but not more famous. |

The studio will start marketing the movie soon as I think it comes out in August. So right around Wrestlemania is when they'd be selling it. I'm not saying this is the only reason Batista has returned because he is still fairly popular, but I think it's one of the main reasons. |

Parks and Rec is pretty big and he's starring in the Lego Movie alongside some pretty big names, if a "push" exists in Hollywood Chris Pratt is about to have a rocket strapped to his ass, he'll be more known well in mainstream than Batista by the time the movie comes out. |

Pratt stars on an NBC primetime sitcom and yes, as someone above me mentioned, he's in line to be getting the "Goldberg push" of Hollywood actors at this moment. |

Because he'll be in a blockbuster this summer. Yeah, WWE used that logic for the Rock.... then Rock happened to leave the WWE title at home and forget what pro-wresting was in every single interview and appearance he did for his movies during Wrestlemania season. |
