It always amuses me how annoyed people get when someone who actually has been in the industry for a long time discusses their opinion about it.
Especially considering the place people get annoyed at said person on is one where the majority of the people don't have that same experience.

And Zack Ryder killed his own career by sucking at acting What we saw tonight was just as cringe-worthy. Angry, pissed-off Bryan can be damn good in convincing acting. Paranoid, advantage-taking Bryan is a bit more theatric but still well-executed. Humble "aw shucks" underdog Bryan is...okay. See No Evil 3 character in peril Bryan is...not. And Brie... Anyway, the execution of the whole thing was its own downfall. The plot, the logistics ("phantom cameraman!"), the general predictability; they're trying to make Attitude Era-style backstage movies again. It doesn't help that Bryan's heart doesn't seem fully into this. He looks a bit tired. The stress of the last couple of months - both good and bad (and yes, even good stress is stress) - has worn on him a bit I think. And Foley could be right in that he isn't particularly enthusiastic over this angle but won't say anything. And Foley could be wrong. Only Bryan and maybe Brie really know that. In any event, the whole thing - from the story to the acting to the commentary to technical execution - had some serious issues. Given the direction the WWE had been taking and the audience it had been cultivating of late, it feels oddly placed. With the somewhat-stagnant viewer base these days, it seems like it would have lost more of the current viewers than it would have attracted any new ones. There was no need for it anyway. Despite a lot of people's misgivings about putting Bryan immediately into a program with pseudo-retired midcarder Kane was actually starting to work. Me personally? Armchair booking, I wouldn't have paired Bryan and Brie up just yet. Her being in the ring with him the night his father died was fine. He needed it, and it acknowledged and got out of the way what was already in the news and well-known. After that, keep her in the Divas division a while longer, and the only time the two interact on-camera is backstage. They're having a good run with him in a lot of ways, you don't change the core dynamic in the middle of that. Wait til later when it makes sense to bring the two together out front as a united entity.

Having an opinion is fine, but it feels like Mick just keeps jumping up on his soapbox at the drop of a hat. Instead of actually being patient and letting things play out, he stands up and immediately takes issue. Let's let the feud actually play out before passing judgment on it. It's Bryan's first feud as champion. It's something to establish him by beating a monster. It's one of the most tried and true formulas in wrestling. Frankly, Foley comparing this t the Ryder feud is jackass dumb and Foley should be smarter than that. He's like Chicken Little screaming that the sky is falling every few months and it's getting old.

Foley's been around the bend a few times, he's had those creative conflicts and probably seem talented guys get pushed to the side because of things like not saying storylines are dumb and such. Heck, he's probably a more reliable source then the dirt sheets because it's him saying it from his experience rather than one guy saying it to Meltzer after overhearing a snippet of a conversation he heard from third/four hand accounts. And this is from someone who thinks the Observer gets it more right then people will admit, which is a reason guys like Foley etc respect it so much. If he wants to write about what he sees, he's got more credibility to write about it then most YouTubers have to say it. And it doesn't take a rocket scientist to compare Kane's feud wth Cena to Bryan because they're literally doing the same exact things. It's not like Foley's comparing Bryan/Kane to Boogeyman/Booker T or anything.

For everyone that keeps bringing up Mr. Socko, you are aware that for a a while it was one of the most over gimmick's in wrestling???
Mr. Socko was never supposed to be a thing. It was a one off in a comedy skit. The next week there were tons of people with Socko signs and a few Socko chants so Foley smartly ran with it.

Why be patient? We've seen Kane and Bryan involved in each other's business, often times because a woman, since 2012. Just because Bryan's now the champion and the woman is Brie Bella instead of AJ Lee doesn't mean we can't say that Bryan, in 2014, as a main eventer, as WWE World Heavyweight Champion, should not be involved with a hokey B-horror movie angle that sucked the last time we saw it 2 years ago with Kane vs. John Cena (featuring Eve Torres and Zack Ryder!). It's bad. It's not worth TV time. It should be kiboshed. And Kane should retire because his gimmick is so damned tired.

Man, if Foley was a poster here the mods would have had to step in to tell people to knock it off.

It's Bryan's first feud as champion. It's something to establish him by beating a monster. It's one of the most tried and true formulas in wrestling. It's not at the drop of a hat, Bryan pretty decisively beat Kane last night, after a small build-up in a feud nobody wants to see and one where nobody believes Kane is a threat to Daniel. Last night, we saw the angle wasn't stopping, tonight should have been the night they convinced us that the angle was going somewhere and it was going somewhere cool. They failed at that. Hell the second we figured out Bryan was going to feud with Kane a lot of people figured Extreme Rules was going to be a retirement match for Kane. That right there tells you everything you need to know about Kane being involved in a feud for the world title. The whole Wait and See deal is saved for angles that start off awesome, not angles that have already been featured on a PPV and not produced anything of quality past a semi-decent match.

Hey, remember seconds later when Steve grabbed Debra by the arm and said "Debra, we done got getta out here!" and then ran into the black pick up, before crying: "It won't start, man!" and "Someone done cut the wires!" Cue screaming. And then a tentative and bewildered Austin driving away quickly in terror as the monster heel laughs at his intimidation.

This feud is ass cheeks and the fact that Bryan's first two PPV defenses are gonna be against freaking Kane is absurd.

This guy's the best choice to take on Daniel Bryan for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship: ![](http://stream1.gifsoup.com/view2/2241657/kane-trombone-o.gif) They bring it on themselves really, they've told us about a million times that Kane is a joke.

There's only so many times you can cut off a man's balls and desperately try to sew them back on before it stops working. Kane's a bitch, and no amount of piledrivers or chokeslams will fix that.

He got absolutely squashed at WrestleMania as well. He didn't have a match, he got squashed. No mask can fix that, not even the Mask of Loki can make him credible at this point.

I guarantee you all that this angle ends at Payback, where we could see Lane being laid to rest, so to speak. ... I wonder if anyone HAS shipped Kane and Lana yet... He burns her suit in a trashcan to absorb her powers, if you know what I mean!

What's Bryan supposed to do? Be like "nah, I want no unique advancement in my angle" How about "How about something that doesn't make me look like a pussy, running away with my girlfriend from the guy whose ass I kicked fair and square last night?"? WWE Champions shouldn't look like pussies. John Cena wouldn't have wanted to run away. That should be the same approach with Bryan. Abso-f***ing-lutely. This booking so far is a disgrace, or at the very least it was last night.
