ROH star Kevin Steen and independent wrestler Willie Mack are expected to be offered WWE developmental contracts, according to a well placed source.
Powell's POV: I was told that ACH and Rocky Romero will not be getting offers at this time. Roderick Strong took part in the camp that included Steen and ACH, but there's no word yet as to whether the company intends to offer him a deal. As always, the talent must pass WWE medical testing before the deals will be made official.
i know they are a thread about willie mack being signed but this has news about kevin steen.

Not to be a dick but this is just a bit of a pet peeve of mine. Why use the NEWS~! website way of getting traffic to the site with the vauge title? Why not just put "Kevin Steen to be offered developmental contract?"

Admittedly I've never seen either guy's work, but I have listened to Steen on podcasts and he seems really intelligent and good tempered. I hope he does well for himself in WWE.

As for the actual news, very happy about that. Steen has pretty much been the king of the independent scene for a couple of years now. He's pretty damn good in the ring and is great on the mic.

Man, if anybody on the indies deserves this it is Steen. Really pleased for him. Really gonna miss him from ROH though, he's really become Mr ROH (sorry Roddy) since he returned.
The thought of him wrestling Zayn is magical. I know they've not met before apart from that weird thing on Kevin's YT show but they just seem like a perfect fit for each other (yes, I make these jokes in every thread).

Steen and Zayn coming onto the main roster together as a tag team would be beautiful. I swear, WWE is just unable to figure out how to bring Zayn up properly (and I don't blame them - if they bring him in now, he's just Daniel Bryan #2), and the mask-less Steenerico team would be perfect.

Great news for Mack and Steen, both super talented.
Also, might be a blessing in disguise for ACH as, which I've mentioned before here a number of times, nobody can get a crowd to instantly care about each and everything he does like he can. Something about him just exudes all the interest of everyone in the room instantly whether they've seen him before or not. If Steen's WWE bound, then I dare say absolutely nobody on the indies can boast the type of crowd empathy like ACH can.
2015 might be ACH's year of being *the* indie guy. Given that he turns 27 in December, he's still plenty young and I'm absolutely certain he'll have WWE in his future.

Love that idea. Zayn is great but has nothing in terms of character development and I think it is really holding him back. Pairing him up with Steen could be the key to getting both on the main roster soon. With that said, I do worry about Steen in WWE. Having less freedom in the ring and promos has me wondering how he'll adapt. |

Good, I was getting worried that Kevin Steen may be the first former ROH Champion besides Xavier (but he sucks) and Takeshi Morishima (who is in one of Japans top wrestling promotions) who would never be signed to WWE or TNA. I guess Jay Briscoe can claim that title.

Good, I was getting worried that Kevin Steen may be the first former ROH Champion besides Xavier (but he sucks) and Takeshi Morishima (who is in one of Japans top wrestling promotions) who would never be signed to WWE or TNA. I guess Jay Briscoe can claim that title. Xavier doesn't suck Xaviers role on the card sucks (but I understand it's is busy as f*** with his degrees and going to random video game store tournaments) And they need to give him the theme he had in NXT back |

I think Adam Cole can now take his place as Indy King now that Steen is signed. He has been eying up the spot for the past couple of years, and now the process can keep on going and he can takeover. But to be honest, with how talented Cole is, in ring/charisma/looks etc I don't think it will be long before he get's offered something. The question would be who takes over him..... The next NXT PPV/Special Event might as well be called NXT: We're badass and we know it! or NXT: If you don't like wrestling you're missing out, you absolute cretin! |
