If this is all true, it's going to be tempting NOT to put Steen into an established group. I hope they don't hide him or give him some awful trucker or innocent fan gimmick.
If anything, (and I stress this as a last resort,) he should use this time to reboot himself. Not to encourage this, but he should "borrow" indy-guy Bryan Castle's gimmick. He should be super-friendly, giving out handshakes and being effusively polite. He should talk about how his mother taught him manners and honor. Then, when a heel cheats, he becomes enraged, to the point of total decimation of the heel wrestler.
Move set: Cannonball Senton Wrist-Clutch (Anything) Orange Butterfly DDT (Bribe HHH to let him use the) Package Piledriver

I've been rolling these in my head for a couple of days: Kevin Steig/Stege Devin Steen Kevin Stein Kevin Staub ...any combination... I was kicking around names the other day and I think I came up with a good one. Pierre Carl Oulette. Rolls right off the tongue.

If the booking was as good as the roster, WWE would be awesome. Honestly, if these poor guys went directly to the main roster I think some of us would be mourning. It's a good thing NXT is usually so solid.

Thank god Steen finally made it. This is really great news! Has Kevin confirmed this at all?

Thank god Steen finally made it. This is really great news! Has Kevin confirmed this at all? Apparently he confirmed it tonight in a ROH farewell speech. It's funny because it wasn't long ago that the IWC would complain that WWE wasn't listening to the fans or scouting top-tier indie talent. Now it feels like half the new roster is all indie darlings. And TNA continues to look like the redheaded stepchild of the business.

Apparently he confirmed it tonight in a ROH farewell speech. Ring of Honor did not have a show last night Ah ok that's why I said "apparently" because I was searching "Kevin Steen" on Twitter and some people were speaking about him making a speech and they were using "just" as if they'd just witnessed it. Either way, the dude is off to WWE.

Thank god Steen finally made it. This is really great news! Has Kevin confirmed this at all? From a recent tweet, it looks like he's going to have a quick feud/match with Silas Young. I'd imagine he has to actually sign, which I'm really hoping he does, and pass the medical test. Barring any unforeseen events, he seems WWE bound. Or at least as close as he's ever been. Wrestlers don't usually go out of their way to confirm it themselves though,. Devitt's trolling about it and I think Callihan/Crowe just finally showed NXT last year after several reports.

Steen cut a promo at CZW's To Infinity event last month that felt like a "goodbye" promo. He was talking about scumbag promoters and to keep on supporting the good indy feds, like CZW, ROH, PWG, AAW and Beyond.
