I said in a previous Steen thread, His style and Character just doesn't work for wwe, Letting him do what he does best would elicit an M rating. I welcome master of the Package...Roll Up, Jaymin Gruntle. Ambrose was a freakin' CZW veteran and look at him now. If you're good, you're good.

Steen and Ambrose is apples and oranges. Ambrose really didn't have anything in the way of head drops. His harshest move was his Dodon/Waffleface that he called the Hook and Ladder. Ambrose also didn't drop f bombs in every promo he cut. The one thing Ambrose has on Steen though is his ultraviolent/death match experience. Ambrose has done some stuff and seen some things as far as that's concerned.
Steen can cut a clean promo and he's got a large selection of offense to choose from when working in WWE that doesn't involve head drops. I could see his wrist clutch fisherman buster over the knee as a finishing move. Perhaps if Steen becomes a big enough player, they'll allow him the package piledriver which I think with some guys would actually be pretty safe.
Overall though, I wouldn't compare Steen and Ambrose.

I think Ambrose and Steen are a good comparison for the fact that both of them were really known as edgy indy guys, but whose quality was in their content - they used profanity and violence as tools because those tools were available, not because they needed violence and profanity to get over.

Steen I think is someone they should look at and let him be who he is. He's different, and that's what makes him Kevin Steen. I had a feeling they were signing him, it seemed like he was taking a number of losses in ROH recently and like he was going to end up heading out (which is good, as the way TNA's looking, ROH can afford to lose some people and have guys ready to come in.

I would've kept this completely quiet and had him debut at NXT Takeover as a surprise costing Zayn the #1 contender spot or causing that match to not even happen with him just attacking him without warning. I would've treated it as a shoot. Steen could have said something like "You thought I wouldn't find you?" and then security could have led him out. They could have mentioned their past but not brought up past characters or promotions. Just that Steen was someone who has been a thorn in Zayn's side for years. A former friend and partner who was driven insane with jealousy by Zayn's talent and popularity.

Hell the first place I heard of Kevin Steen was through his CZW work. Ambrose was known for a lot of his hardcore matches and now he works smarter and he's known as one of the top hands in WWE. Cream rises to the top regardless. That's how I interpreted it.

about f***ing time for Kevin Steen. I hope it works out for him a lot better than it did for Chris Hero. IMO as with Hero you have the issue of Steen looking like some dude you pulled out of the crowd. Maybe a portly suplex machine that wrestles with a t-shirt on can get over as a hero of the proletariat type but I could see WWE having reservations. He's obviously a hell of a worker so I hope he does well.

The big difference to me between him and Hero is that Steen just looks like he is a bigger dude, while Hero looks like he has never been in the gym in his life.

Really happy to hear this, and I hope he can carve out his own niche in WWE. I can see him as a Bully Ray type character, perhaps.

I honestly thought this wouldn't be an option for Steen. With the situation with his family and with the demanding schedule WWE has, I figured it just wasn't going to be possible.

In my estimation, the last different looking guy they had seriously work the roster, Mrs. Foley's Baby Boy, became a three-time WWE champion.

I honestly thought this wouldn't be an option for Steen. With the situation with his family and with the demanding schedule WWE has, I figured it just wasn't going to be possible. His recent pregnancy scare with his wife and daughter probably sealed it in his mind to try to make some money now. Also, he is in his thirties, and he won't have to wrestle an insane schedule any more.
