You know they spend so much time and effort to explain that everything that happens in the MCU is withing the realm of science and reality, then this movie comes and goes "MAGIC EXISTS EVERYBODY IT IS REAL".

Probably my favourite MCU movie , those effects , the Mister Doctor 's amazing acting. They avoided some storytelling cliches which is nice.
My only complaints is that comic book strange completely needs his hands to cast spells( isn't that what makes relevant him being the world best cerurgion , since he has incredible precison for the hands spells? Also the big bad appearance , they should have used the appearance from the comics

There's always been Thor. Who they keep playing off as the Asgardians being an alien race just like the Ultimate line.

So that was pretty great. Different side of Marvel, good origin, and visually stunning with interesting ideas. Got the kinda landscapes straight from my penpal Steve Ditko that I wanted as well.

The more I think about this movie, the more I like it. It's at least in my top 5 Marvel movies.
Although my taste in Marvel movies is probably different than most. My number one is still Cap 1.
I'm definitely interested in what the general audience will think when it's released everywhere else.

what's interesting too is that this really could be its own corner of the MCU with Strange only occasionally interacting with the larger universe for things like Infinity War as Stephen has more mystical fish to fry.
Also, I liked Dormammu's look quite a bit, they had enough of the classic look with some differences thrown in there. And Dark Dimension being straight up Ditko was as I said great.

I wouldn't count on it, as Feige has been hinting (well, as much as he ever does at least) over the past week that Strange will be the focal point for the MCU in Phase 4. That being said, Benedict Cumberbatch is an insanely busy guy, so I doubt we'll see him popping up that often.

Oh I'm sure, I just meant from the standpoint that outside of a mention of the larger universe and the mid credits scene; and obviously the Infinity stone itself, this movie could have almost been a standalone thing.

Oh for sure, that's one of the things I liked most about this movie. Similar to GOTG you can view it in a vacuum.

Ok, just saw it. What da heck was that post film scene? Confused and intrigued am I.
And the movie was one of the most visually amazing things I have ever seen. Good origin story that is somewhat different to the rest. And all around good acting. The main baddie was a bit meh but no big deal for me.

Watched it last night and absolutely loved it. Pretty much exactly what I wanted out of the film. A bit more comedy than I expected, but that was a pleasant surprise.
Saw it in 2d, and the visuals are impressive enough I'll probably see it in 3D as well.

I saw this last night. I am thinking about seeing it again, but in 3D this time. Those visual effects were just amazing.
