I'm a straight guy. Knowing full well that I have practically no chance of having a relationship with a woman (mainly social skills/personality type), and I'm getting sick and tired of porn, it would be pretty awesome if I could just throw my libido/horniness in the freaking garbage already. It is massively useless and counterproductive.

I wonder if I could push my mind into becoming asexual? The Asexual Revolution, if you will. ASR for short.

Who wants to join me in the quest for asexuality? Or you could wish me well if you like.

Nah, not me. When the time comes, if the time comes, I'd like to have, well, sex. There's no other way of putting it really.

HOWEVER, I know people who are ace. And it's important to get out there that this term exists, people make this decision, and it's important to respect the fact that they made this decision.

I think you're confusing being asexual with deciding to be celibate.

You can't turn off your interest in sex just because you can't get yourself a girl.

Having sex (or, to get more graphic, finishing having sex) is one of the greatest feelings/actions in the world, right up there with getting paid (preferably a lot), getting something you thought you would never have or have waited a long time for, eating/drinking something when you are absolutely dying for it, knowing that someone (or someones) truly about you or something you are involved in, sleeping after being dead tired, watching your favorite athlete/team win a championship, and truly enjoying a great piece of art/entertainment. Absolutely no way I would trade sex for being asexual.

People need to start having confidence these days. The trick to life is not caring about whether you succeed or don't. Just going for things and experiencing as much life as possible.

It almost doesn't matter what your experience is or what you look like. Be true to yourself and never short-sell yourself. If a woman or dude doesn't dig you, that's their problem. They're the piece that doesn't fit, not you.

Just a word of advice. I'm incredibly confident and really happy. But that's because I stopped sweating things when I was in my 20's. You can't imagine how much of burden is lifted when you do.

Thanks for framing this as "if you could". If you said it like it was something you could actually do, you'd be an idiot.

That said, I would pass. Most any issue I'd have due to being attracted to people, I've either learned from or I'd probably make that mistake due to something else. You would miss out on a lot of life lessons, probably.

I know. I just kind of identify with the OP. I'm not much of a stud around women either. I forced myself to like guys for the same reasons that the OP wants to be asexual/celibate.
