I'm absolutely in the minority here but I hate that gif of Punk laughing. I hate that he thinks he's above sticking to kayfabe on the scripted show and that he's allowed to blatantly laugh on-camera like that He was laughing at Stephanie over hyping HHH. It totally fits in Kayfabe. Exactly. I've always thought Punk laughing at the over the top praise Triple H was getting was part of the angle. They were clearly building towards Triple H vs CM Punk at Wrestlemania.

For me, that's just Phil Brooks laughing at heel character Stephanie building up her heel character husband. In kayfabe, Triple H is all those things because he's been booked that way, so why is Punk laughing? He may dislike Triple H but mocking an in-character promo about him just makes me roll my eyes. I was never a fan of his pipebomb either

One of best things of this was Bret, HBK and Foley in the same Ring. And that's not the biggest thing.

Fantastic ending to Raw. Punks corpsing is just icing on the cake. But the one thing they got wrong(other than the obvious)? The title unification match should have been the main event of Wrestlemania XXX

I think it fit, that or you just don't like Punk and it grinds your gears to see him. Which is fine. We don't need to wonder what Punk was thinking, because I think this says it all: I love everything about this gif. Obviously Punk's "seriously" face and facepalming. The ref being like "Uhh... Sure." Ziggler turning his head and being like "Oh c'mon!" Foley being like "Of course Hunter would do that. Triple H's smug look like "Yup, you tell them Steph!" Del Rio looking bored. Steph looking so proud,

Watched it on YouTube again. Such a great segment. Cena and Orton both had damn good promos, but no one cared.

The title unification match should have been the main event of Wrestlemania XXX They kind of had to do it that way because otherwise they'd have to figure out what to do with the Rumble winner. I just looked at it as an unofficial anniversary of the original unification.

Steph - Hunter looks so good, still no Rock though... Mark - Vince loved this jacket, I knew it!! Booker - Wrestlemania 19 ... Cena - Man when the hell will SOMEONE take my spot!? Orton - RKO outta nowhere?? Hmm Naahh not now.. Bret - Damn Goldberg, I'm a solid 9 compared to these 4 out of 10s Shawn - Made me shave, and not hunt for this shit!? Hunter - Resisting urge to bury, resisting urge to bury... Punk - Le sigh.. My 434 means nothing doesn't it?? Make it 'til Mania, make it 'til Mania..

Because I think it was all a work. I've always thought Bryan in the mania main event was always the plan. They spent the whole of August until March building him up for it. I know the WWE may seem out of touch and dumb, but they're not stupid enough to stick the already immensely over Bryan in the background segment in his (de facto) home town and not expect Yes chants. Especially when people had been doing his chantin segments he wasn't even involved in for months. I still don't think they'd have deliberately damaged things as important as a title unification and the Royal Rumble just to further a temporary angle. Titles are just props to further angles.

If this WAS intentional for a feud, its a bit backwards to be laughing at a heel building himself up. It should be about Punk hating HHH, not Punk pandering to people by mocking his kayfabe accomplishments. The pipebomb bothered me then and still does, as passionate and well delivered as it was. I'm not a fan of any hints that it's not real. Call me old-school. He hates the idea that Cena's the best? Cena's a multiple time champion, in kayfabe he IS the best. Is he saying Cena's not a good wrestler? Then why has he been champion so many times? That's just me. I'm not a fan of being kayfabe, and Punk (and others) doing that always bothered me

Bret is making a similar face to that time he was on a panel talking about The Rock vs John Cena. 3.5/10 Bret always makes that face. That's his "bret-face". He's making it there. He made it when he and Shawn Michael's made up. He made it on NXT when he was in Natalya's corner, while Ric Flair was in Charlotte's corner being into the match and acting like he gave a damn; Bret was there making that face. He's ALWAYS making that face. Sometimes he adds a smirk to it. Sometimes he looks off to the crowd. With that face.

She's implying that HHH is a bigger deal than anybody else in the ring and that is what Punk was laughing at. He's not won as many world titles as Cena, he's not been the focal point of an era like Bret, he's not been Mr Wrestlemania like HBK and Foley was a bigger deal than him during most of the Attitude era.

And let's face it I am sure we all did the exact same face as CM Punk whilst we watched it live when Steph said HHH was the greatest ever.

And Punk isn't the Best in the World either. It's a moniker on TV. For me, it's the equivalent of HHH saying "actually, Punk, you botch a lot and your promos are all completely scripted by our team backstage. Plus that Go-To-Sleep you do doesn't actually hurt, you protect the wrestler and he just makes it look like it hurts. Screw kayfabe!" The feud should have been Punk hating HHH because he's scum and corporate or whatever. Not laughing at his fictional accomplishments. That does nobody any favours

I loved this segment so much not because of the promos or the fact that there were so many former world champs in one ring. I loved it because this segment has been broken down and analyzed by wrestling fans as much as The Last Supper and it really is an excellent case study for any college level psychology course.

The feud should have been Punk hating HHH because he's scum and corporate or whatever. Not laughing at his fictional accomplishments. That does nobody any favours Why shouldn't he? Even in kayfabe in the strictest sense his reaction makes sense. Sure, HHH had numerous title runs and accomplishments but he was a heel for most of them. That means winning by cheating and other shenanigans like Bischoff handing him a title. HHH married into the McMahons in kayfabe as well as real life, so the heat from the McMahon/Helmsley era was a kayfabe story. Punk in this storyline could easily be thinking HHH didn't deserve most of those accolades.
