I don't know about the sleeping with naked women thing or his views on sexual assault, but I do know Gandhi was a goddamned racist. Quoting him: Kaffir, I should note, is a South African term meaning roughly equating to the N-word. Mind you, this is the guy whose statue sits outside the MLK Center. He's saying that the Europeans want to make all people in Africa to the level of stereotypical tribesmen. Is that racist? And for what it's worth, the guy struck a huge blow against apartheid, so... he gets to use the K word. First of all, that's not how it works. Passing the Civil Rights Act didn't give Jack Kennedy N-word privileges. Gandhi's strives for racial equality (for his own people only, I might add) does not give him K-word privileges. Also, he couldn't have been that concerned about the South African natives, as he said whites should be the "predominant race in South Africa". Don't just take my word for it. Read for yourself. www.theguardian.com/world/2003/oct/17/southafrica.indiawww.thoughtleader.co.za/sentletsediakanyo/2008/10/17/on-mahatma-gandhi-his-pathetic-racism-and-advancement-of-segregation-of-black-people/

Elvis Presley, a womanizer and drug addict. Elvis did some things much worse than that -- like hiring a hitman to kill the man who he thought "stole" his wife...also during the Graceland recording sessions of Feb. 1976, he got a list of drug dealers he was going to kill (what the f***?) and he planned on going back to recording right after. Thank god that never happened. Dude had some issues. But I honestly believe his good outweighs his bad.

Walt Disney: anti Semite who actively fueled the Red Scare paranoia and was so right wing in his politics he made Ronald Reagan look moderate.

Some of you are really pushing it in regards to what it means to be a "Teflon Celeb."
Teflon basically means that accusations role of your back and people ignore it when mentioning your legacy.
Lance Armstrong's steroid use now defines his career. It shouldn't. Everyone did it so it's not like he had some real unfair advantage.
R Kelly will always be remembered as the guy who pissed on a young girl.
Roman Polanski is only Teflon in Hollywood. Everyone else in the world hates that guy for what he did.
JFK has had best-selling books written on his many issues.
I barely go a day without someone mentioning the fact that Ray Lewis got away with murder whenever he's brought up.
Lastly, as far as MLK goes: I don't give two shits the he cheated on his wife. The man changed the country. That's all I give a damn about. Call it "whitewashing" or whatever. I don't give a flying f***.

Hey, I brought up the OTHER side of R. Kelly that gets ignored. He peed on a girl yes, but he also has a constant history of preying on young girls trying to break into the industry or just on the outside.

And even when people talk about that, they really only mention Aaliyah. He still has 15 suits against him for that kind of behavior.

Chris Brown and Justin Bieber Both completely useless humans Both make EXTREMELY good pop musicI'm not sure it's even that tbh. I think it's just that 14-year old girls want their D, so they buy their songs.

Chris Brown and Justin Bieber Both completely useless humans Both make EXTREMELY good pop musicI'm not sure it's even that tbh. I think it's just that 14-year old girls want their D, so they buy their songs. Saying this as someone who finds neither of them attractive (Although Justin is at least decent looking post puberty), both of them do have their moments of shining strong With Chris Brown, before the incident, I will admit every song that he released as a single, even the lesser known ones, I was singing and dancing to. Yo (Excuse Me Miss), Run It!, Say Goodbye, Kiss Kiss, Forever, With You, No Air....this man was a legit pop star who was fresh to the scene. With Justin Bieber, I bought into what he was selling because it literally sounded like what a little teenage boy would sound like if he was writing songs to girls (One Less Lonely Girl, One Time, especially Baby). Once My World 2.0 came out, specifically his remix of Somebody to Love featuring Usher, you could tell his cound was maturing...he just wasn't Now, after the incidents of both of them seperately, neither of them were the same, and I will admit their albums were garbage after that, with Believe from Bieber being all over the place, and F.A.M.E. from Chris Brown being decent but not much there (Except for Look At Me Now, Yeah 3X, She's Not You, and...sigh Deuces). Thing is, even then, Brown actually has had time to mold his music personality. It may not be what most like, but damn if it isn't good. Hell on this last album, there is an EXCELLENT song with Jhene Aiko called "Drunk Texting" that was the highlight of the album for me. Just my 2 cents (and yes, even I openly acknowledge that Bieber, unless he comes out with something new, may be done for)

Lastly, as far as MLK goes: I don't give two shits the he cheated on his wife. The man changed the country. That's all I give a damn about. Call it "whitewashing" or whatever. I don't give a flying f***. Then MLK was a prime example. For the record I do think his positives outweight the negatives. I actually wish people would talk about his negatives more. I believe when we humanize people and show their faults we also show that ordinary non-perfect people can make great change. MLK was a flawed human being but he was still able to make great change. It is a lesson missed by many and enables the "someone like me couldn't change things even if I wanted to" mentality. I think the "Teflon" thing is both positive and negative. Positive because MLK's faults do not take away from his contributions (though some do try). It can also be a negative. For the extreme negative look at the number of college athletes that make tons of mistakes but are always given a free pass because they are athletes.

Lance Armstrong's steroid use now defines his career. It shouldn't. Everyone did it so it's not like he had some real unfair advantage. I don't care that he did roids. He is an ahole because he bullied people and destroyed lives. Not to mention in his personal life he dumped someone 2 weeks after they were diagnosed with cancer. The guy is a a top grade piece of crap.

Mark Wahlberg takes the prize in this thread. He's a mega-star and even when people bring up the attack all he does is talk about himself and how "HE'S a changed man" and how bad HIS life was at the time. How about sparing a thought for the poor guy you blinded you hollywood prick.

Also he was blinded during the Vietnam War, not by Wahlberg's attack. As for Teflon celebrities, until very recently I'd say Bill Cosby.

Dr. Dre beat the shit out of a woman. Laura Bush ran a stop sign and killed a guy. Matthew Broderick killed a guy in Northern Ireland by driving on the wrong side of the road. JR Smith ran a red light, got into an accident that killed his passenger and he fled the scene. Charlie Sheen shot Kelly Preston. The only answer to this thread. He's a revered scumbag

Oh yeah, I still think Wahlberg is a self-serving prick who likely felt little remorse for his attack until it hurt his burger chain. But then his victim is a bigger man than I. Justin Timberlake got away unscathed from nipplegate while Janet Jackson was never the same. That's not Justin's fault, that's just the sexist media. Although he was a prick for saying it was her idea and he knew nothing about it
