I have no problem with people chanting about whatever merit they might think urine has, but I wish they'd drop the 'are' part for 'is' instead. Wee is uncountable and doesn't have a plural form. Don't they teach that in schools over there?

I must say it's been great seeing the posters that regularly troll any negative WWE thread, take delight when IWC favourites lose and constantly make sure to remind everyone that they shouldn't take wrestling seriously, get their jimmies rustled by some loud fans being obnoxious.

My concern is WWE openly acknowledging "The Raw After Mania" as a thing. It's almost become like it isn't a RAW in itself and it's a special like SNME. That now opens it from being organic, legitimate reactions to people going out of their way to do stuff regardless of context and whether it even makes sense. I got that impression a few times last night and next year onwards will only get worse. It's like what Lance Storm said. They had a really crazy crowd the night after WrestleMania 29 that some loved and some hated. But WWE decided to give the crowd themselves a Slammy, essentially rewarding them for their craziness. So instead of it just being a one time thing, now all crowds the night after Mania try to do weird shit to get noticed. They didn't do anything weird. They were engaged for most of the matches, then got bored during a match featuring the Local Men. Sounds pretty reasonable.

There's a difference: "sucks", in most popular usage, doesn't really refer to oral sex the way it used to. It's more taken the place of "stinks". Obviously there's a level of subjectivity to language, but Once you change it to "you suck </whomever>", the implications change; it has now moved to a direct, intentional reference to oral sex. Worse, the notion that "Divas only have their jobs because they do sexual favors for Vince/Hayes/Laurenitis/etc." has been prevalent for years now; chanting this expressly at the women (it's a chant that would never be directed at the guys) is a way of saying "You only have this job because of who you sleep with; you're not a worthwhile enough performer for us to recognize you in any way beyond the man you have sex with; that's your only identity with us." Anyway, yeah, once post-Mania crowds started to realize the trends/memes they could create, they set their own expiration date. Self-awareness kills the spontaneity that made the original ones of them more enjoyable. Just because the word "suck" is so commonly used, does not sever the connotations to oral sex. It may not change the rating of the show, but it still refers to the act regardless. As far as the Bellas go, you pretty much described the entirety of their on screen personas. Their relationships with top talent has been spotlighted on a reality show. The fact that they are dating Bryan and Cena is the reason for Total Divas's existence. Despite being on TV for years, you play word association with the Bella Twins, and John Cena and Daniel Bryan will certainly be the two most popular answers, not any of the Bellas adversaries in the ring. Lastly, the implication that they are where they are today because of those relationships has been made on TV several times by other talent like AJ Lee. I don't know if it made camera last night, but AJ and Paige were egging the crowd on the whole way. I will gladly admit that there is a sexist element present, but the source is totally not the audience whatsoever, nor does it mean that myself and the others in the crowd card-carrying misogynists. It's just another way of presenting the Bellas as heels, and it sure worked last night. The way language works in any culture is that word connotations evolve based on popular usage. To equate "sucks" with "you suck </whomever>" is willfully ignoring intent, I'm sorry. And, no, their on-screen personas really don't have much to do with Cena or Bryan (at least not since they had Bryan and Brie together last year). Total Divas isn't Raw. Nothing excuses that, full stop. Either chant the same garbage at the men, or think up something clever instead of being blatantly sexist. Also, no: anyone saying "Hey, we're not sexist in our daily lives!", that isn't a defense. That's not what sexism is, just like that's not what racism or any other -ism is. Maybe this shouldn't irk me that much, but as somebody who studies the social sciences, I'm begging you not to manipulate and misuse terms that have very real meanings and historical contexts behind them. -Isms are structural/institutional, not personal. Finally: who the hell cares if they had AJ say the stupid "sexually transmitted talent" line? WWE writers sucks, why go along with them? Ok, fine, one more finally: the term "faux outrage" stops now, too. Stop trying to tell people how they feel about something.

The reason I care about the stupid "sexually transmitted talent" line (and yeah, it was dumb, but just because the writing sucks doesn't mean it's not part of the show) is because of how it contradicts the very idea presented that their own-screen personas have nothing to do with Total Divas. That's just not true, and the fact that Tyson and Nattie, as well as Jimmy Uso and Naomi became canon couples on TV further breaks through that line. Sure, Nikki hasn't done anything with Cena yet on Raw/Smackdown, and Daniel and Brie has been downplayed (but still very visible in the mainstream), but it makes no sense to expect us to understand that Tyson and Nattie are having a troubled marriage because of Total Divas, and not connect the dots that Nikki and Brie's "Mean Girls" persona are not a way of lashing out because they are in their husbands' shadow.

Being a huge neckbeard should be Daniel Bryan's new gimmick. Bray Wyatt would have that on lock if the whole devil stuff don't pan out. Bray could go full stereotype for both sides. "White-Knight" Bray defending the justice of all the minorities from all the minorities, and "Neckbeard" Bray where he complains that woman wrestler are only doing it for attention and that models have no place in the ring and for then to "git gud".

Excuse my ignorance as I've only started watching WWE again, but is Total Divas in WWE cannon? There certainly is a relationship there, but I don't think you answer it with a yes or no. Tyson Kidd and Natalya's marital problems is straight out of the show, and so is the Usos/Naomi alliance. Sometimes, we might get matches that were set up on that week's Total Divas despite the fact that it clearly happened months ago. But, at the same time, it's clearly not kayfabed either.

Eh,the WWE clearly tries to blur the lines between WWE Canon and TD but you can't eat the cake and keep it. Once you use as much as they use,it becomes cannon.

I know it's a tough pill to swallow cause some of you were there and had the time of your lives, but just accept that WM31's Night After Raw crowd was the worst Night After Raw crowd since it became a thing in 2012.
Other crowds gave us YES!, the Ziggler pop and Fandango'ing among other things. This crowd gave us blow J and "we are awesome" chants.
Hopefully next years crowd will be better.

Excuse my ignorance as I've only started watching WWE again, but is Total Divas in WWE cannon? Cena and Nikki isn't canon, and during the Bella feud, they didn't show what Brie was pulling on Total Divas, and that would have made her the heel in the feud, and Nikki completely justified in what she was doing.

We didn't even give you guys WE ARE AWESOME, as that was a WM29 creation. And let's face it, the Bella Twins getting some chants has nothing on the reception Maria Menounos got for being a wrestling fan and inducting her friend Bob Backlund a few years ago. That was one of the most mean spirited displays I've seen. There was nothing like that at this year's Hall of Fame.

IMO, if you go along with WWE's highway robbery you can chant whatever, but come on. "You suck Cena/Bryan/Uso/Tyson"? We're all better than that.

Jeez, you would think they chanted "you suck (____)" on full blast for the entire Divas match. Most of it was during the break, they got "WE WANT AJ" & just "AJ" chants, "WE WANT BAYLEY" chants, Paige got a great reaction, they got a good amount of time on one of the most watched RAW's of the year. They'll be fine. I hope this ends up on Botchamania, because when I looked through the match yesterday, skipping around to various parts specifically looking for this, the only chants I could hear were the pro-AJ, pro-Divas and the very loud Cena singing.

I have no problems with this crowd, but I might have missed some of the chants that are getting the most complaints. I loved the NXT chants and singing "John Cena Suuuuuucks", so they're cool in my book.

They would have been more awesome if they had chanted "It's not the year 2000" at the Big Show and Kane.
