I have no problems with this crowd, but I might have missed some of the chants that are getting the most complaints. I loved the NXT chants and singing "John Cena Suuuuuucks", so they're cool in my book. The controversial Bella chants were during the commercial break. It's actually one of the things that bugging me, because people are talking about chants about Tyson and Uso, which I didn't even hear in the arena. The heat was on the Bellas first and foremost, and any heat on Naomi was due to her being the third wheel of the team.

You were certainly something last night. Awesome wouldn't be the word I used, though.

I'm disappointed to see excuses/defenses/rationalizations for the sexist chants here and in other threads. I thought FAN, wrestling fans in general, were better than that.
It's been educational.

I love rowdy crowds chanting like maniacs. LOVE hot crowds and it's the best part of the after Mania RAW. But a crowd chanting We Are Awesome is akin to liking your own post on a forum. Come the f*** on. Exactly.

1. Thanks for helping make the show a fun watch. 2. I didn't actually hear those "you suck Cena" etc. chants, but yeah, that's shitty. 3. Never chant WE ARE AWESOME again.

Have you forgotten what the WWE product was like during their last boom period? I'm not surprised at all that there's still a considerable amount of fans still around with an attitude era mentality towards female talent.

I'm just surprised that there's almost a consensus here that yknow those chants aren't all that bad, the divas don't care, having sex is a good thing, etc. I'd expect to read that (and worse) on Reddit, but not here. I maintain that there are sadder implications than the chants itself, and sexism was in no way retired when they got the F out. Grown women are wrestling for a purple butterfly, for f***'s sake.

Saying a crowd is trying to get themselves over is one of the stupidest things I've ever heard and makes me cringe every time I read it.

You mean the same company that promotes the glory of the old ECW, which was known for it's classic Eddie Guerrero matches and not it's misogyny and violence toward women?

The "You suck ____" chants directed at the divas is pretty damn mean spirited.
There's shitting on stuff that deserves to be shit on, and believe me...there's been PLENTY of instances of times where WWE deserves the shit they get. But there's also instances of going to an event with the intent of hijacking it no matter how good or bad the show is.

Going to Mania, being part of that crowd, hearing most of the chanting on Raw, and being around all of the kinds of smelly, rude people that took over San Jose really drove home how much I dislike the majority of wrestling fans. It was a sobering experience. I kind of considered doing a write-up of how my Wrestlemania weekend went, because I have a lot of stories to share, but I am sure I'd just be called a joyless asshole or something, in so many words, so I'm not sure if I'll bother. Suffice to say, I don't think I'm ever going to a WWE show again if I can help it. Japanese crowds are my ideal crowd. People give them shit for being too quiet or "sitting on their hands" but that's simply not the case. I was there for WK9 and we were hot for f***ing everything. They're just a lot more respectful. They'll boo and cheer who they want, and chant for their favorites or sing along with Suzuki's song, but they also realize just how much of a goober they come across as when they try to get a smarky chant started so no one even tries. That's the way I like it.

I assure you, none of the people I had an issue with were foreigners. Out-of-state, maybe, but that was it. Some of the Brits were rowdy and irritating but at least they had the decency to bathe. They didn't ruin my enjoyment of wrestling or even the WWE, though they did detract from it significantly. I probably would have had a better experience if I just stayed home, which is a bummer considering how much money was spent on this.

American Fans are awkward in General. I like wrestling, but I feel all types of out of place when I go to live tapings. I'm always seated by people who either take it way too seriously, or they shout random things like "follow the buzzards," even tho Bray Wayat is no where to be seen.

Between people blocking my view with their gigantic signs, people standing on their seats and blocking my view of the action AND the Tron so I can't watch it there, dudes picking fights with me because I was the only one who had the balls to tell them to sit down because they were ruining it for other people, and the awkward chants people tried getting started every other minute like "f*** TRIPLE H" or "STEPH SUCKS DICK", it was not what I'd call a fun experience. It was more like a splash of ice cold reality in my face after this dream I had of crossing Mania off my bucket list and having an awesome time seeing some of my favorites in person in an opportunity I most likely will never get again.

The ones who take it too seriously I envy because I wish I could get as invested in it and feel it's all real. My friend's mother is the same way she yells at the TV when a heel does something evil or when the heel is about to get their comeuppance.

Shit. That sounds crappy. At least you can say you did it for your fandom of wrestling.

I'm at that weird place where I can talk the specifics of the business, but still get invested in angles where I cheer my heroes and scream bloody murder at the bad guys when they beat down the heroes.
