It was better than force awakens in my opinion(which I thought was good) but not quite as good as the originals. 8.5/10. {Spoiler}I could watch that Vader/Rebel's scene a thousand times.

Here's the Vader scene {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler} It's now blocked. And judging from the screen grab, it was indeed the scene in question.

{Spoiler}Dude that he stuck to the ceiling....it was just his time to go, wasn't it? The force called to you and you couldn't even go in one piece. You poor f*****. Great movie. Just got out, going to see New Hope when I get home. Have a feeling this will change my viewing.

One of the best things about the other 7 movies has always been the music. So how is the score for the film?

And people, I'm going to take a moment to remind everyone to be cautious about your comments. Although a lot of you have seen the film, it's only been out less than 48 hours (as of this post) there are plenty of others who haven't. Let's make sure not to be too specific in our comments, unless we use spoiler tags.

So I enjoyed this a ton.
It's definitely one of the darker SW films, but it never got so grim to where it stopped being thrilling. There's a heavy undercurrent of hope and camaraderie with the cast and story. The climax is crazy emotional.
Maybe the prequels aren't that high a hurdle to clear, but Lucasfilm under Disney so far is two for two, IMO.
Gonna post (another) FAN review soon!

Maybe "frustrated" is too strong a word, but I couldn't enjoy things as much. Mostly it comes down to the fact ANH begins just minutes after Rogue One leaves off, and now we're going to move forward knowing none of the new characters are going to be mentioned again, despite what just occurred. It doesn't help the very first characters we see are R2D2 and C3PO (who comes off as even more of a whiney bitch now) and we soon see Luke, who is in over his head but is suddenly the hero.

I really liked it but that pun. Oh my god that pun. I liked the movie but the pun scene should be burned. I want it edited out of the blu ray but I'm afraid they'd George Lucas it and make it even worse.

Huh, the opening crawl to A New Hope is now basically a "Previously On Star Wars!".

{Spoiler}I haven't watched A New Hope again yet but I did watch a clip of Tarkin speaking to Leia about how the battle station will be operational or something along those lines.
After Rouge One we know it was already operational so the line doesn't make much sense.
Another thing I want to mention. VADER'S RED EYES. Cool that they actually did that. I think they just had them black in Revenge of the Sith and Lucasfilm claimed they were never red in A New Hope despite them clearly being so.

After Rouge One we know it was already operational so the line doesn't make much sense. {Spoiler}I'm guessing the line you're referring to is:
"Princess Leia, before your execution, I'd like you to join me for a ceremony that will make this battle station operational."
It's explicitly pointed out that the use of the Death Star is to make a statement to the galaxy that the Empire can now wipe out planets with a single shot at will, to control through fear. Wiping out a city on a minor planet would be the equivalent of killing a the mayor of Odessa, MO, while utterly obliterating Alderaan would be like dropping a nuke on DC on Inauguration Day.
Though one could also argue that they were testing the full capability of the Death Star, since there's a big difference between wiping out cities and military bases and destroying a planet.

New Hope on TV now. Was I the only one that ever wondered about the Blue Milk The blue milk has been a running gag for years. It's been officially identified as Bantha milk. The debate is whether it was the same stuff we saw in Rogue One, since there shouldn't be any Banthas there.

Anyone know if the NPR radio dramas are still considered canon? {Spoiler}It's been ages since I've listened to them but I remember A New Hope starts out with Tarkin on Alderean having dinner at Bail Organa's place and Leia refers to the new Imperial weapon as the Death Star. Since Tarkin hadn't said what it was called it revealed that they must be part of the Rebel Alliance andh ave seen the stolen plans. After he leaves Bail gives her the plans. At least I think that is how it went down.
I think in the past they were considered canon. Don't see how it can still be with this movie.
