IF they do a Obi-Wan spin off I hope Neeson comes back as Qui-Gon's ghost, I'm sure Neeson would do it. I remember reading there was a canon reason why when Qui Gon learned how to be one with the force he didn't learn enough to easily come back physically but was able to teach Yoda who taught Obi Wan. He did materialize in Clone Wars but it was very difficult for him too. I'm sure they could come up with a BS reason and bring him back.

Ewan still looks good for his age. If anything they'd have to apply old age make-up. Now that I think about it, according to the official timeline Obi-Wan was a youthful-looking 38 in ROTS and 57 in A New Hope but looked a decade or so older. The life of a hermit certainly aged him real fast.

Saw Rogue One yesterday and overall I thought it was very good. As a Star wars Film it certainly feels different to the normal saga and is certainly darker. Enjoyed all the new characters especially K-2SO. Minor bits I didn't like: {Spoiler}{Spoiler}1. There is a lot of jumping around to various different planets at the start and I was thinking I wasn't going to be able to follow all this new information. 2. The mind reading slimy beasts tentacles used on the pilot didn't look that good. 3. The AT-ATs durability won't feel quite as impressive as it used to be. Parts I thought were awesome: {Spoiler}{Spoiler}1. Vader is amazing, from his interaction with Krennic to his scene at the end where he was so close to getting the plans! 2. Tarkin is used a lot and is really good, I like the political maneuvering he is shown doing here with Krennic. 3. Battle of Scarif is brilliant, especially the hammer plan. 4. I love that the Death Star laser has levels of power it can use. Other thoughts: {Spoiler}{Spoiler}1. As nice as it is to see Cornelius Evazan & Ponda Baba (the two guys Luke and Obi-Wan have an altercation with in Mos Eisley) appear in the market. I was left wondering how they got out of the city so quickly as the city was obliterated not too long after. 2. Anakin became Darth Vader thanks to in part to a lot of lava burning him. I find it amusing he would want his own home fortress to be on a planet covered in lava. Mind you it looked amazing! I thought that about the AT-ATs too, but then I got wondering about why they looked different. Well, it was because they were AT-ACTs. Which are larger versions with cargo bays that are less protected as they are made mostly for transport, that is why they had the big gold side panels, they were doors, between them was just hollow space for carrying stuff. So yeah, totally fine. I just figured it was because {Spoiler}Snow Speeders are less powerful than X Wings.

I saw an interview of Ewan lately and dude could still pass for late 20s.

It's kind of funny now to see people turn on episode 7 Light years better than any of the prequels. Also, 8's story will be what magnifies 7 to epic tier or not. Rogue One has the benefit of being a hindsight cornerstone in an already complete saga that is an all-time great. So, since it's matching up with source material, it's going to get the initial ooohs and ahhhs it probably deserves.

Still wonder if we see Hayden as the force ghost in 8 we came that close in episode 7 I'd be all for it just to see the poor guy get a little redemption for Episodes II and III. He's not a horrible actor, he just was never going to be good enough to overcome the horrible scripts and Lucas' direction. A scene between Kylo Ren and Force ghost Anakin would be neat.

The Anakin force ghost was supposed to be hybrid between Anakin and Vader wasn't it?
Like a Two-Face. Guessing the Anakin side takes Kylo him down the Jedi path while the Vader side takes him down the Sith side.
Or maybe the ghost was to interact with Rey.

Also, Ric Flair Syndrome.

They suck, they suck so bad, but I had a much better first time theater experience watching them than FA. To use an analogy: The prequels are like someone desperately trying to do an essay without having done the required reading, and bullshitting to get over the word count. Force Awakens is like someone just printing an essay they found after a google search, changing a few words, and spiral binding it. Both are bad, but one at least tried something.

That was..okay?
Not sure how to feel. Technically solid. Beautiful film, especially in IMAX 3D. Rebels kinda looked like dicks? Empires never been scarier. I hated main protagonist dude.
Oh and, somehow, how gritty and realistic this is makes the prequels SOMEHOW look worse.

Force Awakens is like someone just printing an essay they found after a google search, changing a few words, and spiral binding it. Both are bad, but one at least tried something. The Force Awakens made me appreciate the prequels a lot more and at least respect what it was trying to do and what it did manage to accomplish. The analogy I use is: The prequel movies were like being reconnected with your old high school sweetheart who you've never gotten over, only to find that she's long since been happily married to another man, had three beautiful and smart children, has a successful and stable career working an office job, and moved on with her life. As you talk with her over coffee, you realize that you no longer share any of the same interests, the old chemistry is gone, and after awkwardly forcing your way through a conversation, you politely wish each other well and part ways, although you still friend each other on Facebook and keep in touch every now and then online. The Force Awakens was like being reconnected with your old high school sweetheart who you never got over, only to find that she's married a 70-year-old rich guy old enough to be her father, has spent thousands of dollars on plastic surgery to keep herself looking young and pretty, and can't stop talking about how popular she was in high school. As you meet over coffee, she relentlessly flirts with you, and tells you that if you're in the mood, you and her could have a more...intimate reunion, wink wink (it's okay, she and her husband have an understanding, so it's not like it's REALLY cheating).

It's kind of funny now to see people turn on episode 7 Light years better than any of the prequels. Sith is way better than Sue Awakens. Even the woeful Lucas is dialouge is more sparkling than any half-hearted line or quip spoken in Sue Awakens...and you actually remember the lines even if they're badly delivered. About the analogies, I look it at the prequels as the girl you sort of rejected in school years ago, then you steadily realize there's more heart and substance to her as you get older, and you wind up rejecting the superficial model you've been dating for most of your adult life and shack up with her. Or to use a music analogy, the prequels are the lyrics to Boyzone's "Picture of You"

If we're actually comparing to The Force Awakens to "I hate sand" and "Yippie!", I don't know what makes for a good Star Wars movie.

Episodes 1 & 2 are garbage on the whole but the action set pieces are were good
Episode 3 IMO is a good movie regardless of it's issues

The prequels make me feel like I'm living in the capital. Everything else makes me thing I'm in districts 1 through 12. Episode VIII can be District 13. Judging from his bio, Alec Guinness was about 63 while ANH was in production. So the age difference wasn't significantly off.

Please, no Hayden or Qui-Gon.
Don't ruin a new era for Star Wars by bringing in elements from those awful prequels.

Can we please stop using the term "Sue" or "Mary Sue" seriously? It doesn't mean anything anymore.
It's a substitute for "I don't find this character appealing". That's it. Nothing more.

I haven't seen Rogue One and I don't even know what the main character is called, but I already know she isn't a Mary Sue.
